I watch the Royal Ballet's World Ballet Day every year and honestly that corp instructor is BEST. I Love watching her teach because she does it with precision and compassion like she really is genuinely wanting better for each girl.
Obviously they usually have tape marks! That’s why the répétiteur was making note of the fact that they are missing. Stop projecting! The RB is SUPER PROFESSIONAL! All the time! I was a soloist with the RB. They are the gentlest coaches out of most of the world class company!
The dancer in purple with the green skirt is on fire 🔥🔥🔥 She impressed me so much in the ROH 2021 World Ballet Day class video. I have no idea if she has good technique, I'm just saying she goes all out and it is captivating. 🔥❤️🔥
Thank you for doing this! Great idea to choose a rehearsal focusing on the corps. A couple of years ago on WBD both the Royal Ballet and the Bolshoi were rehearsing The Kingdom of the Shades and BOY was the contrast in, um, communicative styles clear. Whole lotta yelling at the Bolshoi.
By the way, there is an insights video of the Royal Ballet two days ago (international women day) discussing what it means to be a ballerina. Really good! It's called "insights: interrogating the ballerina".
Working with a regional dance Co. in PA, we spiked the dance floor at Down Stage Center, Center Stage Center, quarter stage Left & Right. We also spiked the with X' s for any Special Lighting needed for any dancers.
I watched the World Ballet Day live for the Bolshoi Ballet, and it was a 3 hour long video. It was really nice because for the majority of the time, they were interviewing dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet about their experience there and they did show class footage, along with parts where dancers would be rehearsing individually or with a partner, and a teacher would do commentary and corrections for it. I would definitely recommend watching it because the Bolshoi is a great ballet company, and the dancers are very artistic and technical. I'm also Russian and love ballet, so it's cool to share a heritage and the same passion for this art with others in the world. ❤️🩰
