Tripreport - QATAR AIRWAYS Long-haul Economy Class Boeing 787 Dreamliner Flight Doha Airport to CPH

- TripReports. Airline Trip Report - Qatar Airways Long Haul Inflight Flight Review. This is a flight review (Trip Report) of our Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner Economy Class Long Haul flight from Hamad International Airport, Doha (DOH) to Copenhagen Airport (CPH). The video begins with our arrival, onboard a Qatar Airways Airbus A350 from Singapore. From this point the viewer follows us as we make our way from the plane and through the airport as transit passengers (we have a connection flight to Copenhagen).
After disembarking the aircraft we pass through airport security again, after which we arrive in the Doha Airport Departures Hall. We have a 7 hour wait at this airport before our Qatar Airways flight to Copenhagen departs, therefore we decide to buy lounge access to the Oryx Lounge so that we could be more comfortable and get some rest. When boarding time gets closer the viewer follows us on our walk from the Oryx Lounge, through Doha Airport and to our boarding gate. The boarding of our flight which is onboard a Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be a tarmac boarding which means that we will be driven through Doha Airport to the aircraft by bus.
Once onboard the aircraft the viewer is briefly shown the Qatar Airways Business Class Cabin and then we make our way through the Qatar Airways Economy Class Cabins, where we will be sitting. During the flight we present the viewer with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner Safety Card, Qatar Airways Inflight Magazine, Qatar Airways Duty Free Shopping Catalogue, the Inflight Entertainment System (Oryx Entertainment System) which offers passengers a fantastic selection of inflight movies, tv programs, music, games, flight information and more. During the flight viewers will have views of the Economy Class cabin, including a tour of the lavatory, we will show you the Dreamliner seats and how far back they recline and of course we will present the inflight meals and inflight drinks that are served onboard this Qatar Airways Economy Class Flight. The video includes our approach, landing and disembarkation at Copenhagen Airport.
Our Opinion of our Qatar Airways Economy Class Flight onboard their Boeing 787 Dreamliner:
The cabin crew were very professional, friendly and helpful
The inflight meals were fresh, tasty and served at a good temperature
The Oryx Inflight Entertainment System offers a fantastic selection of entertainment
which should keep most passengers entertained throughout their flight
The legroom onboard this Boeing 787 Dreamliner was not enough for Maxi´s 186 cm height.
We have seen other TH-cam flight reviews and Skytrax reviews mention this same issue.
Verdict:
Qatar Airways Economy Class is good value for money with friendly staff (cabin crew) and an overall
good product. We would fly with this airline again but will try to avoid routes flown with their
Boeing 787 Dreamliners, owing to the inadequate legroom for taller Economy Class passengers
(particularly when the seat in front is reclined).

Maybe it is for the holiday season or maybe they have seen that the limited leg room was a problem for the taller people. That " pipe " at 48:30 is the so called jettison valve. Or fuel nozzle if you want. To dump fuel if you have to return to the airport and the aircraft is to heavy.

Stunning trip report. I don´t like to board longhaul planes on the apron, it´s not the comfiest way to start a travel. Did it once in Munich. The only good thing about it is to stand in front of such a big plane. Qatars cabin looks nice, bright and comfy. I would love to travel with the Dreamliner, even when I prefer the 767 or A340 because of the 2/4/2 seat configuration. Thumbs up for your video and the effort you put in it.
We enjoy the apron boardings but must agree that the passenger bridge is probably more convenient for many. The Qatar Airways Dreamliner cabin interior is lovely and the colour choices are perfect. As we mention in the video we only have issues with the lack of Economy Class seat space (particularly when the seat in front is reclined). We also prefer the Airbus A340´s and A330´s for the 2-42 config, have not yet tried the 767. When we fly 777 there are always a few rows of window 2 seaters so we make sure to book those seats well in advance! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave us a comment!

The flight was good but I found the seat space to be less that that we have normally experienced on Economy Class. Which aircraft did you prefer the boeing 787 dreamliner or the airbus A350-900 i have flown on both from man to bkk the only thing i liked on the 787dreamliner was the up and down tinting on the windows instead of having to pull a window blind down lets hope the other ailine manufactures take up boeings idea your videos are enjoyable to watch keep up the good work

Maxi and Maro. Always good. About the recline. I think its ludicrous that the screen has to be right in your face. I also think that the people in front of you should have a little more consideration for those behind them. I haven't seen a video on Emirates?

We wish that they would just stop allowing seats to be reclined in Economy Class, it is a bother for everybody and a nightmare for taller people, there really is not any personal space when the chair is fully reclined. As regards your question regarding the Business Class Lounge, nowadays most airports have some lounges that allow Economy Class passengers entry at a fee (depending on space availability). Prices can range between 30-50 US Dollars and once you have paid that price you are entitled to most of the lounge benefits including drinks and snacks. Wifi was freely available in the airport and lounge and was available at a charge on the plane. We are not sure what that cost exactly, try and look it up on the Qatar Airways website. Ok thank cuz in September and November I'm flying with Qatar airways 🇶🇦 again bt from london to Doha to Kolkata ( india)this way I have to stay in Doha almost 13 hours and coming back from Kolkata ( india ) to Doha I have to stay in Doha 19 hours I'm coming from calgary ( Canada) in london I have to stay 12 hours and coming back from london to calgary in have to 7 hours from calgary to london and london to calgary I'm flying with air Canada 🇨🇦 .

Hello Traveller, i saw some of your videos and i like all of them, just waiting one of Emirates.
You asked what is that tube on the wing, that is called Jettison, is a device do dump fuel, when there is some problem during the take off and the plane needs to go back they dump fuel by that device, some planes doesn't have that.

Another great in-depth review Maxi and Maro, I really enjoyed this one! Having seen both your 787 and A350 videos on the same airline, it seems the A350 offers extra comfort as compared to the 787. I haven't flown on the Dreamliner, would like to experience myself one day. Have a great week ahead!

Thank you for such an extensive detailed review of the Qatar economy class on the 787 Dreamliner. This plane gets a LOT of negative reviews for the cramped sealing in 3+3+3 configuration, and the ife boxes below seats on outer seats. Looking at your video it doesn't look too bad until someone puts their seat back! The food looks good and the ife system. I'm flying on a Dreamliner tomorrow my first time, to Indonesia via Qatar.

HaHa, thanks Markusm. As we mention in the review Qatar Airways is a great airline and we had a fantastic flight onboard their new Airbus A350 and would fly on that with them again. It´s just the Dreamliner Economy Class space they need to reconsider in our opinion.

Qatar Airways is a fantastic Airline and we had a perfect Economy Class experience on the Airbus A350 (also good space) which is why the limited space on the Dreamliner (especially when the seat in front is fully reclined) was a disappointment. Traveller I totally agree with you maxi, Boeing 787 need to improve on their legroom, my legs were exhausted after that 7 Hrs flight but other than that everything else was fabulous :D

Absolutely love it when you fly the 787 ! However I don't blame you for trying to avoid Qatar 787 because of the leg room, I couldn't sit like that for 6 hours. Great flight review as always, hope you enjoyed your flight Maxi and Maro :)

Why were no alcholic drinks served? If this is the norm for Qatar Airlines I definately wouldn't fly with them. A few drinks is an essential part of the flying experience for me. Great review. I was thinking of booking with Qatar but now there is no chance.
Hi there Harry this was an early morning flight so the drinks were not on the trolley. I believe that we would have been able to ask for alcoholic drinks if we wanted them. anther great vlog, the zoom on your camera is spectacular I really enjoyed the view of the ferries. interesting to see how cramped it becomes when someone in front reclines their seats. I have tried to explain to some friends how invasive this can be particularly if, like me, you are a big guy
Thankyou very much Derek, glad you liked this Qatar Airways flight review! We are also happy for the zoom on the camera, it does help us catch some nice views from the air. Regarding the seats, we had read/seen on Skytrax amd TH-cam taller people complaining about the lack of space onboard the Qatar Airways Dreamliner but thought that it was just the normal Economy Class rants. I (Maxi) quickly found out that it wasn´t. Scandinavian men are known for the height (as are the Dutch) so perhaps Qatar Airways should perhaps consider using an aircraft with more space on those routes. My point is that many of the passengers on those routes, rather than just a few, are tall! Thanks again for your nice comment and for watching! Enjoy the rest of your week.

Yes I have seen your review of the A350. We are flying this aircraft on the ADL to DOH leg. Looks like a great way to spend 13hrs ;) we have 3 hours stopover in DOH. Do you think this is enough time to have a little look around without rushing? Cheers :)
Hi there V Ron, sorry for the late reply I (Maxi) did not see your new thread, there seem to be some problems with comment notifications on YT at the moment. I´m very sure that you will find the A350 Economy Class cabin comfortable and as regards your question about having time to look around I am sure there will be time. The chances are that when you arrive, the gate information for your next flight may not even be available yet. If that is the case then you should have some time to look around, but just keep an eye on the departure screens for when the gate is announced - the walk can be far. Have a lovely weekend :-D

I have these comfortable Cargo travel pants with many pockets so I can store my cellphone, wallet and passport and pen to fill out any customs forms. I never lose my things. I also have a travel neck organizer that I can store my ID Passport Pen and Priority Pass Lounge access card too,
BTW You may want to look into Priority Pass Lounge Access and the AMEX Platinum Credit Card for access to the Centrioun Lounge

An excellent flight review.Very detailed and objective.Qatar is a great airliner but I think that the remote control issue shouldn't happen in a new aircraft like this The legroom is a problem that appears in a lot of airlines in tall persons above the average.height.

My height is 1.86 and I had the same problem with the legroom in a Lufthansa A343 and an Air France 772.And I hear that issue from other guys flying long haulers too.That is why I mentioned it.

The little trim flaps are the small things moving up and down they only trim the aircraft they are not ailerons . The ailerons are the at the outer part of the wings maybe you could learn a little about aircraft flight surfaces and I will try and learn some spelling good luck
