So does each letter have to be in a separate paper folder? I have a huge collection of my dad's letter to my grandmother. Many are one page only - that's a LOT of folders...lots of $$$ How much damage would be done if the letters were stored in folders by year?

As long as you don't stuff the folders too full, you can put multiple letters in one folder. I would suggest, however, to invest in some buffered, acid-free paper to put between each letter to keep them separated.

I have a small box full of torn in half letters from 1915. What product can you use to put them back together as a whole letter, so you can read them.

I have 10 years of letters from my mother, that I put in plastic sleeves and inside a 3 ring binder. Each piece of paper is in its own sleeve, so it can be read front and back without removing them. They are archival sleeves. I also put many online in a folder on my computer so I have a copy and able to read them online or share them with family members. My binder is kept indoors in a room that does not get real hot or cold.
