New Jersey Drive Trailer - Directed by Nick Gomez and starring Sharron Corley, Gabriel Casseus, Saul Stein, Gwen McGee, Andre Moore. Jason and Midget are two young, black teenagers living in Newark, New Jersey, the unofficial car theft capital of the world. Their favorite pastime is that of everybody in their neighbourhood: stealing cars and joyriding. The trouble starts when they steal a police car and the cops launch a violent offensive.

Well I’m born in 89 and I grew up without the internet we was ALLWAYS outside. And I do remember the 90s as well. I just wasn’t a teenager 🤷🏻♂️

Classic movie definitely worth watching and having in your movie collection.
I never watched this movie until recently and I regret it! These guys were whining about cops harassing them but yet they were stealing cars shooting at them , resisting arrest , cursing at them and other crimes.. and it was so frustrating seeing these kids not learning after one of them would go to jail or get killed after committing these crimes. It was hard to root for them or feel bad for them when they initially committed the crimes and kept doing it!
That’s why it’s a “movie” dipshit
It was like the filmmakers knew they were making us root for bad guys, so they had to make the cop ten times worse. And to make the carjackers more sympathetic, they gave one a sick mom. Like, how does joyriding in stolen cars help your mom?

What made you think a movie about car jacking would involve a bunch of good kids and cops who weren’t corrupt?

I was certain this movie was called 'Newark' in the UK
They actually wanted to film there but the mayor said no! They filmed in NYC instead.
@@AEMoreira81 Not New York, but Brooklyn (yes the two are different cities). But some of the shots were in New York (Queens, where they carjack the last car before Roscoe catches Jason this time) and some of the exteriors were in Newark.

They basically just copied You Me and Marley story for this film still a good film though

You me and Marley was from 1992 so it was released 3 years earlier but was a tiny budget film by the bbc most famous of the cast was Bronagh Gallagher from the Commitments actually a good film you can watch it on youtube
And the ending of you me and Marley actually did happen 2 years earlier when Lee Clegg shot two teens in a stolen car

New jersey drive is a great film far better quality but you me and Marley has local cult status and was only ever shown once on tv as the bbc banned it because it caused an explosion of joyriding in Belfast that still to this day is a big problem
