Buying and Renting in Italy in Salento region of Puglia was a positive experience for us and in this video we show you the before and after reno works. We purchased the property remotely from Australia in April 2022. Settlement went smoothly and settled in under 8 weeks. We began renovating in September 2022 once again remotely and in May 2023 we lived in our house for 4 months and finished renovations and furnishings in August 2023. We prepared our Italian property for rental during the four months and our property was leased in November 2022 on a 12 month lease through Salento with Love in Puglia.
In this episode we were leaving Salento headed for Rome for a couple of nights before our long trip back to Australia.

What a beautiful property and the new stone work on the street looks fabulous
Thank you so much for the kind comment and watching this episode. We are happy with the end result and what a bonus to have had the street updated to stone. We didn't know that at the time of purchasing it this was the plan for our street or town.
The house is amazing ,those tiled floors and ceilings are work off art , you did fantastic job with renovation and give this house a new life. It is bright and have great energy ,roof top is amazing ,great place for a parties .
This will cost over 2million here in Sydney inner west .

Beautiful place! What made you decide to not uncover more of the star vaulted ceilings? I am wondering because the place we are buying has vaulted ceilings, just not the star pattern.
If I had the $$$$ i would have had uncovered the wall in the main bedroom and the ceilings in the living area. Unfortunately the Australian dollar has not been kind to us at all in the last 18 months so our budget stopped at one ceiling. Unless you know someone that can do it for you the cost for you. The one ceiling cost 3500euro plus 22% VAT tax and the removal of the rubbish was 800 euro plus VAT tax. That converts to our aussie dollar sum total of $8700. So definitely choose your priorities. We would rather update the bathroom next. The plan is eventually to do the bedroom wall before any other ceiling. Hope that make sense.

Hi. I just bought a house in Molise.. I am Australian buying remotely. Notaio would not put house in my name, stating Australian’s do not have reciprocity. Had to put house in my sons name. He has a French passport. Very frustrating. Did you have any issues? I am excited about my time in Italy next year 🎉 Eileen
We were fortunate to have Maltese citizenship and passports at the time and now also have received my Italian citizenship after a long 3 year process
@@casamiasalentina5818 Thankyou for prompt response. My house is named La Mia Margherita. In honour of my mum who passed away in a nursing home from Covid. With the little $$ gifted to myself & my son from mum/nanna, we have bought an old stone house in the historical centre of Guglionesi, Molise. Mum would be smiling, she loved to travel. Eileen
