Why West UP is Rich but East UP is Poor?

- In the last few years, I have travelled through several parts of Uttar Pradesh, and I have always been curious about the two pictures of this state.
The first picture consists of cities like Noida, Meerut, and Agra (mainly the western part of UP), which is a great depiction of the progress of Uttar Pradesh, but the second picture consists of districts like Azamgarh and Chandauli (mainly the western part of UP), where the picture is not as glamorous.
On various economic parameters like GDDP (gross district domestic product), per capita income, agriculture produce, and employment, Western UP has overtaken the Eastern Part by miles, but the big question is: why?
Same state, same governments, same central policies, then why this disparity, and so why we have created this video, where we have tried to cover various questions in depth, like: Why does this disparity occur? Who is responsible? And is there any way in which this disparity can be removed?

I am from Gonda district of eastern UP which is a neighbouring district of Ayodhya Basti Balrampur Bahraich Barabanki but I can clearly see how the politicians here are not paying attention to development There are no basic facilities here, no university, no factories. The youth here are forced to migrate to Delhi and West UP.

Itne saalo se idhar development bilkul bhi nhi ho rha tha lekin ab dheere dheere infrastructural development dekhne ko mil rhe hain jaise ki Purvanchal expressway, Ganga Expressway, DFC line aur new bridges aur railway lines bante hue bhi dikh rhe hain. Ab Purvanchal expressway ke side Industrial Corridor bhi bna rhi hai UPEIDA

I'm from Kanpur Nagar( Manchester of the North). This city is much more capable than what it is now, because of Lucknow(our capital city) it doesn't get much importance.

I have high hopes from UP-SCR(Uttar Pradesh's-State Capital Region) development. If Central Uttar Pradesh (Awadh region) is developed, it will not only improve the standard of living of millions of people, but we can also nullify this East-West divide hypothesis. Dividing Uttar Pradesh would also mean that the natural resources of the state would also be divided and this would hamper the economic progress of the state in the long run.

I am grom Gorakhpur and thanks for this video adarsh it was really helpful....i have seen people in comments now divided between east UP and west UP.I request can we please stop this fight...We need to grow india as a whole and not as UPite or west up or east up...i can understand the feelings of west UP people they are also right that they contribute so much to state's GDP but purvanchal region gets more funds from government...guys most of the development is happening in west up only...and east up was rich but politicians and goons ruined the richness of this place and most of the investments before happened in west UP only not in east UP...till the time the government will not focus on the weak regions how will it griw... thankfully now under yogi government the purvanchal region specially gorakhpur is developing....and its true the culture and language of purvanchal is slightly similar to bihar....as people from bihar migrate to east UP a lot....and its not something bad...I wish and hope that we develop as a nation and dont have disparities amongst each other....East UP people are very soft spoken I request none of the Purvanchal region people to abuse people who are calling us names...its better if we focus on our development rather than replying people in comments...when we will become strong and independent no one will be able to point us out and then we can help our neighbouring regions and states to become better

When i was in college, I have met some really nice people and some not so nice from east and other regions of UP. You can't take social media seriously. Most of the people here are keyboard warriors. I would disagree with you on one thing regarding govt spending money in west UP. I can't say about entire west UP but certainly for ghaziabad. Here Most of the development is due to private players investment and not due to the state govt. We have good private colleges and not one decent govt college just to give you one example.

Being form Ballia, I totally agree with the situation. And I am suggesting some steps to change people's mindset. Awareness programmes and campaigns should run in purvanchal showing the importance of skills and observation of other states even west UP.

Hello bhaiya I am from pratapgarh I thing to develop the east region of up is to create some industrial park , university and hospital so that we don't have to depend on West or central up ,in my city there was a indust named ATL but becouse of some political issues it was closed and not open till now, i think government should work on these projects.
Bhai East UP me 2 AIIMS hai lekin west me koi nhi , East me 2 IIT hai lekin West me ek bhi nahi. West ko Government se kuch nahi milta East k comparison me
