Brings me back to a time where this genre was emerging to crush the metal heads already out. A hybrid euro punk melted into American heavy metal. It’s strange to say it’s nostalgic. Learned these riffs over a couple decades and was at awe with Slayer since Haunting the Chapel came out. Worked several of their gigs when they were in town. (Shout out to the Newport music hall, Columbus , OSU campus). When learning these riffs without proper sheet music and simple tab is involved, you’ll miss out on the true sound that Kerry and Jeff brought. Dead Skin mask is an perfect example as the tab has the gallops at five instead of seven. If you play using tab you’ll know exactly what riff and where. Man the 80’s were the most embarrassing decade of American culture but Slayer brought redemption and a middle finger to mainstream, kicking the shit out of Duran Duran on one end and Metallica on the other. Funny thing is Slayer originally wouldn’t tour with Metallica because Slayer were headliners from conception. Metallica were as well but it was a great divide amongst fans. Either went with more acceptable metal or you went with the faster, meaner and heavier metal. The black album drew that rift wider sending hardcore Metallica fans packing for good feeling betrayed but they were immediately replaced by bandwagons of new fans. Slayer simply refused to change. I’ve met both bands and that are both fantastic if not in stark contrasts. I learned many of Metallica’s songs and Slayers and my personal favorite is Slayer. The riffs, the baselines and the baddest drummer there is, which is bias considering I became friends with Dave long after. No drum machine is going to mimic his work. Great video and a bring back to the Dawn of speed metal.
so fun to watch and listen to! would make a great right hand warmup. Slayer had some funkiness to them sorta like Megadeth sometimes. I still don't know how Jeff came up with the Angel of Death breakdown riff... just bonkers.. then Dave comes in with that half time feel -one of the greatest riffs ever
😅 Bravo ! ….
Congrats for your amazing work. I'd like to make a suggestion for 10 Riffs + Tabs. Maybe Kreator, Destruction, Cryptic Slaughter Riffs, what do you think?
Elles sont très chouettes tes vidéos ! Si je peux me permettre, ce serait cool de laisser un peu de place à la fin pour qu'on puisse voir le dernier riff en entier sans se faire couper par les propositions YT. Merci bien en tout cas !
cool now this is the way to make lessons. play and have the tabs that move along. We can slow it down if we want. thanks I hope you have more like this of many other bands from the 80's :) I would kill for van halen like this. then scorpions and acdc and Iron maiden. that's it. hahaha not enough youtubers do it like this grrrrrrrrrrr wish there were more smart ones.
Awesome playing mate Love to get someplace close man🤘 Man the sound is mint 👍 Thinking about first tube amp Giving up motorbikes for now to busted up so any chance you might be able to recommend a head and cab?? So expensive but all cool shit is? Cheers man take it easy🇦🇺
Thank you for your comment and compliment. A Marshall head and cabinet with G12 T 75 or G12 65 speakers i would recommend. For Slayer, probably a JMP or a JCM800 will do it well.
so if you can chug on the low E string you’ve already learned more than half of all Slayer riffs lol just kidding this is a iconic band nonetheless 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶
Viva SLAYER VIVA CHILE MIERDA SI EL VOCABOLISTA/BAJISTA DE SLAYER ES CHILENO Y EN UNA ENTREVISTA EL CONFIRMO QUE ES CHILENO EL NACIO ACA EN CHILE LA REGION DE VALPARAISO QUE SERIA LA QUINTA REGION DEL PAIS
great we know that hes playing on a les paul so its not gonna have the amount output a jackson or bc rich would have to put out the right tone for the riff probably
@@killtax33 Uh yeah it will. Very comparable pickups to a Seymour Duncan TB-4. Most Jacksons didn't come with hotter pickups. My KV1 has a TB-5 but that's a rare exception.

Cool stuff! You should do some Venom riffs. They influenced a lot of these bands.
