Zverev just won in Rome. Alcaraz and Sinner didnt play, Novak isnt in a great shape. So basically it is the toughest draw possible for Nadal, thats insane.
Zverev has never won a slam and the last time he was in the final he choked a 2 set lead. Please believe this is a lot tougher for him mentally than Rafa!
@@jddII Rafa needed a good couple of rounds before facing someone like Zverev, he just won Rome playing amazing, making 5 unforced errors in the final and putting over 80% 1st serves in. If you are a top player you want to face Rafa now, in the first round, not in later stages.
Stadium will support Rafa completely. If Rafa grabs the first set, he can rest in the second one, then he can fight for 3rd. By this technique, he can rest effectively, and play his best. I am sure Rafa will play much better than how he played against Lehecka. Rafa can take medical timeouts and all naughty tricks to change momentum, then he can have more chance. Most importantly, he should get inside Zverev's mind. If he plays to his backhand like 100 times, he can confuse Zverev. He needs to destroy Sascha mentally, then he can bring him to his level to beat. Very good strategy is necessary.
@@timytidy60 Agree the crowd will support Nadal and the first set will be determining. But Zverev has a better tennis now and all these younger guys want to push Nadal and Djoko aside. It all depends on him.
@@SainyaHokage Zverev's biggest mistake is overconfidence. If both players with clear mindset, Zverev wins in 3 sets or maximum 4 sets. He is much better than Rafa physically. However, if Zverev gets in doubt, and starts to question by Rafa's game, he can be in trouble. Rafa's only chance to play with Zverev's mind, and try to confuse him as much as possible, such that Zverev's serve percentage decreases Then, zverev can make mistakes too. We will see how it goes. If Rafa could not put a strategy and fight, he will lose for sure.
By the way Rafa lost Hurkacz last time. Hurkacz is someone who can beat Zverev on his day. Losing to Hurkacz shows what is missing on Rafa's game. Rafa usually plays better after such a loss. I think the main issue that Rafa should not get tired and make unforced errors. He has been doing so many unforced errors in the last match, which is normal for his current but quite unusual considering his career.

I mean here at least the seedings are random, so it’s not the fault of RG for potentially breaking everyone’s hearts if he goes out in round one (okay, well, a lot of people’s hearts). But denying wild cards to Thiem, Schwartzman, Wozniacki, Halep, etc… Hate them for it, that was intentional.
I feel bad for him ! Reality will hit him face first on the first ball ! In my opinion, Sasha Zverev doesn't stand a chance ! He might win a set, a set in which Rafa plays loose and saves energy but other than that Zverev can't hurt him ! Rafa in 4 is my predictions in less than 3 hours !

all these media clowns trying to claim the seedings are unfair, Seedings are earned throughout the year. Just giving them out is direspectful to the players who earned their rankings.
Vamos Rafa !
Rafa hasn't lost a single practice match since he arrived in RG. Not to Wawrinka, not to Medvedev, etc etc. I expect Rafa to be firing since the first point. Match is going to be litt

That made slightly more sense because there were 2 or 3 grass court tournaments each year, a lot of the clay court guys had 0 grass skills and just go dumped out 1st round each year, but seedings should always be based on rankings not nostalgia. Top 32 earned their places and deserve to be seeded.
