"The Lost '82 Demo Tape" is one of my patches, I appreciate the kind words!
Really really great work! I am looking forward to hearing more of your presets in upcoming products!
@22:50 the intro to The Valley Road by Bruce Hornsby.
Nice!
Another great immersion into the heart of a product. Very glad that they have, as with the DMX, kept that wonderfully dark grit available when detuning. I would use in multi-output mode so won't be making use of the onboard effects, but that's cool as I have some awesome effects plugins. At 25 quid that's another pow, wham, boom from G-Force and I'm all in! Top work man 👍🏾
Couldn't agree more! GForce always knocks it out of the park!
Thanks for the "hard sell" VC, dollars done, downloaded and delivered!
Let me know what you think of it after you've had some time with it!
Great sounding sounds!!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Will do!
Sounds excellent actually. Super impressed. 🍻
I totally love the DMX, and likely to get this too. I am a huge fan of GForce. All 3 Imposcars are under appreciated, but fantastic and 3 is a light year improvement over 2.
Imposcar 3 is insanely cool
Great video of this classic drum machine. Was lucky to own the original back in 1987. G force has done another great job like their DMX version.
Do you think they nailed the sound of the down-tuned drums?
@ Yes definitely. I mainly used the digidrums rock kit in my linndrum but also the standard kit which was also great. Only downside was you couldn’t individually tune the bass drum on the original.
@VultureCulture
Not at all. Aly James Lab's VPROM is the most authentic Linn virtual drum machine on the market. As opposite to GeForce's IconDrum or DMX, which both are just sample players with additional FXs and nice GUIs, VPROM is a near perfect emulation of the LM-1.
VPROM decode stock, optional and even your own custom made EPROM image files in real time, following the decoder output table of the original AM6070 DAC (detuning is based on the datasheet of the XR-2206 clocksource chip). This guarantees 100% accuracy of the detuned bright and gritty vintage sound which is impossible to obtain via modern resampling techniques used in sample players/DAWs.
VPROM also emulate the CEM 3320 VCF and the HiHat data looping and VCA scheme. Cherry on top of the cake: aside from other cool features, the upcoming V3 update will incorporate a 48 PPQM option which was part of the "legendary groove" of the Linn drum machines.
Overwhelming sounds & patterns!
Yeah this beast slaps!
@VultureCulture hehe
Bought this yesterday
What do you think so far?
Very Impressive. I bought the DMX and loved it but this gives alot more snare like effects. You can hear the Eighties jumping out at you.
Maybe also some nice synths to check Melbourne instuments nina, eventide h90 and the dreadbox nyx
I want a Nina so badly! Spoke to Rex from Melbourne 2 years ago - it seemed like I might get one but nothing yet 😂
I was curious about this. How does this plugin differentiate from just loading up the LM-2 samples into something like Ableton drum rack and slapping on some external effects?
A big part of the sound is the way a vintage drum machine down tunes the drums in a crunchy, gnarly way. In a modern DAW it's a very clean sound by comparison.
Thanks for the explanation! I'm an absolute beginner to drum machines, and I'll definitely demo this.
Yes I will buy IconDrum. I don’t really need another Hardware Drum Machine nor do I have space for another. I already own Behringer RD-8 MKII, Drumbrute Impact, Alesis SR-16 and Behringer RD-6 as well as the Roland SP 404 MKII. So the IconDrum works for me
I think you're in for a real treat!
I stink at finger drumming. Is there a way to turn icon drum into a on/off drum machine as like in traditional drum machines?
Here's a list of 27 free step sequencing plugins: hiphopmakers.com/best-free-step-sequencer-vst-plugins
I use a Uno drum with Linn samples but this looks like a much better option.
It is very immediate and useful if you have a good software sequencer.
Any coincidence that they release this VST, right before Behringer releases their hardware box with this VST in it.😂
Probably not 😂
@jasonakagecko
Fortunately, Behringer has released its hardware version loaded with Aly James Lab's perfect emulation software (VPROM). Not with this GForce anemic rompler.
Staying alive is from 1977 while the linndrum 1982, very unlikely it was used on this recording 😅
