This was my second trip this year, Sea fishing at Arbroath on the kayak.
I paddled (pedalled) north along Arbroath cliffs about 2-3 miles, trying various marks that I know, fishing amongst the sets of lobster pots was more productive, the weather was amazing, very light winds flat calm sea in the glorious autumn sunshine. The fishing was tough very sporadic not in shoals like you would expect, certainly not like the last trip. The water clarity was not great with visibility down to about 10feet in places but I did manage to bag a few codling to take home.
I only recommend products that I use and believe in.
Kayak - Hobie outback limited addition 2016
Rod - Ultimate Cast and Jerk baitcaster 40-120grams
Real - Okuma JAW baitcaster.
I also use the rod and real for casting medium to heavy pike lures.
Line - 60lb J- braid 8 strand,

My daughter (10) tied her own bombarda setup I was blown away she's watched your setup video to learn it so yeah maye there cracking videos keep up the great work we're yet to land that big sea trout but not for lack of trying going to try for a bass today too fingers crossed

I seen a video on TH-cam of some people it was a 3 year old video I think but they were fishing offshore from leven/methil. Seemed to produce some cod ect. I plan to go along for a shot there at somepoint would be another good mark close to me to add to the collection if it produces.
I need to try along at Torness at somepoint

Hi how do you find the hobie outback handles offshore? Also based in Scotland and looking at a pedal powered kayak? Thanks
Hi mate, I love the Hobie outback, for me it offers everything I need, it’s very stable on the see which is my main concern when I fish around the shore and it’s got plenty of storage space for my gear. The pedal drive just allows me to venture further from my launch point without the effort it would normally take paddling by hand, done that tried that wasn’t for me plus it’s hands free which is good especially if your trying to stay over a mark and your drifting with the tide or wind. Obviously there are other pedal drive kayaks out there that offer the same or similar specs as a Hobie but I’ve never had one so couldn’t comment on them. Cheers for watching and your comments👍

To be honest when I’m on the kayak I don’t worry about the tides. sometimes in summer fishing close to the cliffs on the last couple of hours of the flood tide can be really good.

Hi mate, the rod is actually a baitcaster rod, it’s a heavy cast and jerk rod 60-120grams by ultimate. Lures are 12cm loose body shads by savage gear👍

Do you anchor?
Hi mate, I don’t usually anchor on the east coast as the ground is very rough, chances of getting your anchor back is very slim. That’s the main reason I don’t anchor but I have tied up to lobster pot floats when the tide is running hard.
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing Cheers, I actually live between Arbroath and Montrose and fish there a lot, I never anchor either but wondered if you did.
I also clip onto lobster floats haha

Mateusz Purgal Hobie Kayaks are expensive but you can find some good deals on used kayaks, my kayak was a used kayak and got it on eBay for£1500 and probably add another £300-£400 for accessories, which is still cheaper than a new Hobie kayak with nothing on it. Hope this helps

You should be dispatching your fish humanely rather than chucking them in the bottom of the kayak to suffocate.
These videos are over a year old now mate and Ii don’t kill the fish for the table anymore. Thanks for your commenting tho as it’s always appreciated👍
