I tried a IB build with cyclone vs your build. your build seems to stand superior. its really good! most of the time im at full health or 3/4 hp. while the low life IB build is super risky especially at stage 4 if u get skraev and shrowd.
35% reduction is just not enough to beat Iceborne, considering one has 100% leech uptime, and the other does not. - And, considering the power creep these days, the 'under 10% hp' rule is going to apply, more and more as time passes.
I think this is something that I can agree with. I will say that the leech uptime is really only a talking point due to the stipulation of the "under 10% hp" rule. I imagine that, if there was a number or power squish, it would be less punishing. But, even at Power Boost 2, I have a hard time activating it when I need to. I still think it's strong in certain situations, but it's not as universal or as consistent as IB.

Not sure. Parasitic is a 35% DOT over 10 seconds, which means it theoretically mitigates more than Iceborne. This means that if you got hit by something that would kill you w/ IB, it wouldn't immediately kill you with Parasitic, and you could theoretically outheal that damage taken from the DOT w/ a quick potion or the lifesteal. Edit: You are right about the +3 comparison though, 100%.

I'm not sure about this, but I would guess that parasitic would also delay the compressed umbral from shrowd and hunt modifiers, so that's actually really good if you can hit the behemoth

I use koshai lantern with ardent cyclone, because it allows me to cancel out of super and reposition, possibly going right back into super after a few valor combos.
You shouldn't be running malkarion chain blades because the bonds aren't good for them but if you have to bond it to drask chain blades for the extra damage to behemoth tails.
I'm pretty sure all of the bunds suck except for Drask. XD Even if you think that the one from Stormclaw is good, just dealing more damage can increase filling the special meter. With drask, if you get caught behind a behemoth, you are fine bc you are gonna get a damage boost from hitting its tail. Other than that, you get +3 Aetheric Attunement, so you get increased lantern hold charge per hit which could be argued is better than special charge. If you don't have momentum blades, then the Stormclaw bond is even less appealing.
Thinking of making a tank build fusing iceborne +6 with parasitic +3, nine lives +6, tough +6 and conduit +6. Hope they add a new weapon that taunts the behemoth and give the player a buff like increase defense or debuff the behemoth.
if ur stacking damage then u wont need deconstruction. unless u want to be a memelord and one tap the roots with a single repeater bullet, if it even works
When you take damage 35% of it is delayed, you take those 65% and then it starts ticking a dot immediately after, (beware that you need time to stand up and chase the behemoth after you get hit), and you STILL TAKE THE FULL DAMAGE and you have only 5% life steal. Combining Parasitic + Tough means that the total damage you need to take to surpass the 10% of your life threshold for the activation of Parasitic is increased even further, resulting in you taking more damage from small damage sources. While Iceborn directly denies 30% of ANY damage, not only the damage that's more than 10% of your life and stacks well with Tough. Iceborn's life steal is 8% which makes it 37.5% stronger than Parasitic. In conclusion: Parasitic is a bad cell, only useful for troll tanky builds with zero dps. At +3 they both are useless :D

Iceborne is just a free get-out-of-jail perk that makes the game easy and forget that there is punishment for not being able to understand the mechanics and positioning. You do not need IB at all once you learn to dodge, it only delays the learning process.

agarus weapon, prismatic grace, and nine lives to get a total of 6 revives in a hunt, 4 in a heroic+ patrol, and 3 in a dauntless trial, with one of them healing all allies in a huge radius. i like it

Well,I could see parasitic being better than iceborne in many cases, but it's really ineffective against umbral instability from what I saw. From what I understood from the video, the mechanic worked as intented,lowering your health to 1 hp, but the parasitic cell continued dealing dmg OT and you barely survived. So even though it's better than iceborne in some ways,parasitic could really work against you.
Parasitic needs a buff. They should remove the 10% hp requirement, because that would open up a potentially viable hunger build. EDIT: Thoughts on this build? No parasitic is nowhere close to iceboune. Parasitic = 5 lifesteal even at +6 the damage over time is not that good because if the damage is toohigh you don't recive the buff for tick. Iceboune +6 = 8 lifesteal pair this with discipline and you can trade hits all day. Parasite has 2 draw backs if the hit deals a certain percent the damage reduction doesn't proc only the 5 life steal will and even when you do manage to get the tick damage it's faster then using hunger, the second draw back is it's 5 life over icebournes whoping 8 Iceboune has 2 draw backs it only kicks in at half health and can't heal past half health but the insane 30% damage reduction (it's actually higher than 30% despite the game saying it's 30%) I have play tested both on a sword build focusing on sustaining health with spin to win parasite full health vs iceboune discipline, parasitic I was taking way to much damage and died 2 times against agarus, iceboune I never died it's the reason the meta is predator with discipline or swap out predator and take icebourne you beat behemoths in in under 2 mins and agarus in under 3
Step 1: Have a teammate, 2 skarn swords both run guardian+tenacious+parasitic+tough+cunning+catalyst, Step 2: Spin to win, pass shields to teammate via guardian perk forever and ever Step 3: Permanent 10k Shield, 30% cunning crit damage bonus, 100% crit and 32% tenacious damage bonus, Catalyst 3 potion buffs Step 4: Game is broken Bye *iceborne* *Terra* new meta
Please stop saying Parasitic is damage mitigation, because it's not. But it IS very good with unstaggerable states as showcased with your cyclone build because it negates the otherwise guaranteed downtime from taking damage in the first place, thus making the most of the limited lifesteal window. A true, proper immortal build would be tough 6, iceborne 6, para 3 on a Skarn unstaggerable weapon. Double lifesteal on low health when you need it most. Pretty busted IMHO. Spin to win, don't even bother engaging with the monster's attacks or unique mechanics...
...I don't mean to be technical, but Parasitic is a cell that offers damage mitigation in the form of its combined DoT mechanic and lifesteal. It's very nature is to mitigate damage, so it would be willfully ignorant of me to not call it what it is.

Also if you deal substantial damage you will heal more than the attack triggering the effect. Delayed damage and regen are entirely separate effects even in the usage of this skill. Nah, I was just in a particularly pedantic mood and you're trying to be helpful explaining things to people. Sorry.

From what I understood from the video, the mechanic worked as intented,lowering your health to 1 hp, but the parasitic cell continued dealing dmg OT and you barely survived. So even though it's better than iceborne in some ways,parasitic could really work against you.

Sure,it doesn't prevent getting to 1hp,but at least it won't start damaging you.
Parasitic needs a buff. They should remove the 10% hp requirement, because that would open up a potentially viable hunger build.

The purpose of Parasitic in this build is to keep you alive while facetanking the behemoths attacks during the time the new gnasher sword passive is active. For those of you who dont know, The new gnasher passive gives for +15%dmg and stagger immunity for the duration when it procs. Taking damage increases the proc chance.
switch from dynamic bladecore to recursive hilt and u will steamroll everything in ur path
other than that, a pretty decent build. might try it

Aga fight with strikers is a joke just stand at base run parasitic, tough, tenacious and move when fights over you basically face tank the trunk easy. Makes iceborne seem old school for those that just wanna DPS and sort it out later lol!

No parasitic is nowhere close to iceboune.
Parasitic = 5 lifesteal even at +6 the damage over time is not that good because if the damage is toohigh you don't recive the buff for tick.
Iceboune +6 = 8 lifesteal pair this with discipline and you can trade hits all day.
Parasite has 2 draw backs if the hit deals a certain percent the damage reduction doesn't proc only the 5 life steal will and even when you do manage to get the tick damage it's faster then using hunger, the second draw back is it's 5 life over icebournes whoping 8
Iceboune has 2 draw backs it only kicks in at half health and can't heal past half health but the insane 30% damage reduction (it's actually higher than 30% despite the game saying it's 30%)
I have play tested both on a sword build focusing on sustaining health with spin to win parasite full health vs iceboune discipline, parasitic I was taking way to much damage and died 2 times against agarus, iceboune I never died it's the reason the meta is predator with discipline or swap out predator and take icebourne you beat behemoths in in under 2 mins and agarus in under 3
How you can get tenacious
through cores and completing a hunt as a reward
I'm using iceborne and parasitic
Step 1: Have a teammate, 2 skarn swords
both run guardian+tenacious+parasitic+tough+cunning+catalyst,
Step 2: Spin to win, pass shields to teammate via guardian perk forever and ever
Step 3: Permanent 10k Shield, 30% cunning crit damage bonus, 100% crit and 32% tenacious damage bonus, Catalyst 3 potion buffs
Step 4: Game is broken

Please stop saying Parasitic is damage mitigation, because it's not. But it IS very good with unstaggerable states as showcased with your cyclone build because it negates the otherwise guaranteed downtime from taking damage in the first place, thus making the most of the limited lifesteal window. A true, proper immortal build would be tough 6, iceborne 6, para 3 on a Skarn unstaggerable weapon. Double lifesteal on low health when you need it most.
Pretty busted IMHO. Spin to win, don't even bother engaging with the monster's attacks or unique mechanics...
...I don't mean to be technical, but Parasitic is a cell that offers damage mitigation in the form of its combined DoT mechanic and lifesteal. It's very nature is to mitigate damage, so it would be willfully ignorant of me to not call it what it is.
@@XannyPhantasmo No. If you deal no damage in the 10 second window there is no lifesteal, no net reduction. Also if you deal substantial damage you will heal more than the attack triggering the effect.
Delayed damage and regen are entirely separate effects even in the usage of this skill. The net result is temporary lifesteal, not mitigation. There is no reduction.
