A homeless man I know says that theft is a big problem. Could you add pouches inside the coat to store food and other personal items?

Same here in Reno, NV. I need to buy or make some of these. Where can I either get plans (blueprints) to make them at mass production or where can I buy a large quantity of these?

People have this strange belief that homelessness is simply a product of laziness. That is absolutely not the case. There are some situations the everyday man could get him, without any fault of his own that could land him on the streets, other times it could be something as simple as a layoff. You never know a man until you take a walk in his shoes and its wrong for others to judge them.

People don't hire homelss people to work. If you don't have a place to live, nobody wants you to work for them. You need an address and a phone er ferget it

it does seem better to just get people off the street instead of making the street more comfortable but...a lot of people out there are SMI and can't mentally work or live with other people so they need something to get them through the night is all.

They seem to. You just have to know how to handle that situation though. I've seen a lot of people that breeze right through those things and end up never paying a dime and moving onto the next one. It's a good skill for people in trouble and it can be a bad one for the manager.

Great what you're doing but its not really a new idea. Check out your local Military Surplus Store for Tanker / Sniper Sleeping Bags! It's just smartened up a little to be less obvious.

the reason most homeless cant get in to a shelter is because they are unwilling to stay sober and off drugs and follow the rules so the shelters turn them away.

Craigslist is the best place to look, people think its junky but not the housing section. Apartments are a path to the street because the situation that your in is VERY common. Look for a nice private owner to rent from. They're better and they work with you. Doesn't matter if you have an eviction on your record either, it's like jobs most people say they check but they don't the trick is to stay away from realtors and corporate owned housing and you'll be fine.

Homelessness becomes more comfortable, big business suffers because people give up a credit based life, and start living for real. This is the beginning of a revolution. We need to fix up collapsible miniature shelters that can be hauled anywhere.

UM. not always. there are a lot that have lost their jobs, homes, ways. Some kids who were kicked out. in the 90s, the NYS mental hospitals released mental patients out to the streets. That's a very, very shallow, limited, dangerous viewpoint you have there. For example I have taught many homeless kids living in shelters because their parents ran into financial problems & couldn't make ends meet. You can't assume.

I will be homeless soon because of my down stairs neighbor threatening the property management he will sue if they dont kick me out . I trying to take it to court because it is known as extortion and he is an attorney. I just had c-spine surgery and am disabled and cant afford to move let alone find a place that I can afford.

Uh, and are you giving these away for free? Cause the homeless can't pay you $100 for this. And what's going to happen when the cop tells them they can't sleep there in their new fancy coat? Just asking.

they're homeless for a reason. in most cases, they're LAZY bums who don't want to work or do anything for themselves. they should be able to pull in at least $1100 a month working at McDonalds or as a janitor and rent a $500 a month apartment.
