Right, it's so obvious that he has severely arrested development. He literally does childish crayon drawings that look like a 6 year old drew them. He talks childishly and is oblivious to obvious social cues that people are uncomfortable around him. Someone did mention in a prior episode that "he's been here a long time" and implied that's why he is this way, but you'd think they would explain this to the new people a bit better if they understand that.
@@C4YANHe also could be on the spectrum. You can tell because of how he covers his ears everytime someone is being loud it's an indication of sensory issues which could be a sign of autism or adhd
@@equinox3625 True. I was laughing at their reactions because they are humorous, but they weren't understanding the characters. And one of them had an excessive hatred of Ethan. I was disappointed they didn't keep reacting to the show though because it was entertaining and literally no one else did reaction videos, which is crazy to me. There are lots of review and theory videos, but no other reaction ones where they're actually watching the show.
21:44 “How’s that dog still alive?” It’s not the same dog. The entire town was apparently slaughtered in the past, leaving only the Lunchbox Dude & the pet dogs alive. The dogs turned feral, and have been breeding in the woods ever since.
I don't want to call anyone "stupid" but what this episode is implying isn't that complex. Victor(weird guy) has been in the town since he was a kid. He used to see the boy in white and he also witnessed everyone dead besides him. He used to think they were just bad dreams but now he is realising he is remembering his past(this is what he says to the sister in the beginning of the episode). He also thought the boy in white was his imagination since he hasn't seen him since he was a kid but since the new Kid(Ethan) can also see him, he's realised the boy is real. Basically, Victor knows more than everyone else what is going on.
I'm pretty sure it's more about the fact that when you are watching this show this early for the first time, you don't know who is telling the truth, or who is even capable of knowing they are in reality or not. In hindsight after watching it all, sure it's easy to say "They should've listened." But at first you don't know if he is just crazy, or mentally behind, or scarred but knows the truth.
What u gotta understand about victor is that he feels as if he's lived through every scenerio and it's not like he's giving up he's just scared that history will repeat itself losing everyone that's close
Regarding the creatures: I initially thought they were a weird interpretation of the vampire myth, but some things don’t quite fit. Instead of drinking blood, they appear to consume most of the organs & flesh of their victims. Instead of a cross, they’re warded off by the stones. The stones seem to be inscribed with Celtic runes, which leads me to believe the creatures are from Norse mythology. In those myths, there are creatures that can sometimes appear as humans, consume humans, have an aversion to sunlight, and are often depicted as needing an invitation to enter a protected human home: TROLLS.
Theory 1: A clan of Trolls from Scandinavian mythology has managed to survive by creating a weird, inter dimensional “trap” to pull in human prey. The nutty girl, the Lunchbox Guy, and the little boy are all sensitive to psychic phenomena, and are therefore able to “tune in” to what’s going on. The Trolls have turned the girl into a Judas-goat to help them prey on the humans. Lunchbox Guy is apparently feeble minded, so he hasn’t popped up on their radar as a potential threat. The little boy, on the other hand, IS seen as a potential threat, hence the command to “kill the boy.”
@@wraith1701 O u havent been that part but i mean if she is nutty i thought youd be smart enough to assume she aint it something related that talking to her
Normally you should avoid weirdos of course but, in this case, when everything is pure madness only the crazy or weird people are the most valuable person
Both of you need to watch all the ep again. You have to actually listen to the conversation instead of talking during that time it is the most important info.
My take on Victor is that he's Autistic. "On the Spectrum". Not "creepy", "sketch" or "simple". He has been able to learn survival skills from his years of experience in this place. He's taken note of different things about what's going on around them than other adults and shows clear evidence of non neuro-typical ways of adult problem solving. Yet at the same time, he can't see that a young child is not an appropriate friend for him. Since his brain is thinking outside the box, it would be great if these people would get over their fear of anyone who isn't "normal" and try communicating with him instead of treating him like a freak to be afraid of. Victor also shows several other behaviors that scream "autism" to anyone watching that loves someone autistic. He has the potential to bring a lot of things to the table, but the only one willing to talk him is a child. 😔 💔
I got the exact same impression. From the beginning when we saw him talk to Julie as she was tied up on the first night, he has been oblivious to obvious social cues that he's making someone uncomfortable. He talks to Julie in a childlike way about his peaches and whether the two vehicles arriving at once is "special," and he doesn't notice that she's leaning away from him and cringing as he invades her personal space. In this episode he watches her while she's sleeping and draws her a picture, once again creeping her out and not understanding that. He tries to get too close to minors, first Julie and especially Ethan, and doesn't understand that it's not appropriate for an adult to behave that way with kids. I actually felt bad for him when Jim man-handled him and I was afraid Jim was going to really attack him in the woods. Jim is right to be alarmed as a parent and Victor did literally abduct a child by taking him away without permission, but I believe him that he means no harm. Everyone really needs to listen to him more instead of treating him like a freak, as you said.
The mom said it in ep 1 when they were getting out of the RV. She said I have to get my baby I can't leave Thomas. The husband then says it's Ethan that is stuck
Omg your reactions were so hilarious, I was laughing till my stomach hurt. And it takes a lot to make me laugh as I'm in physical pain all the time. I'm so glad you chose to react to this and I hope you do Season 2 as well. I have to watch most shows by myself now after my 11.5-year relationship ended, and watching reaction videos really helps. I feel less alone and it's so much more entertaining to get other's reactions while I watch. I only wish you had a full-length version like other reactors do on Patreon, because I'd totally pay to see that. I can't believe no one else reacted to this awesome series.
radio turns on. "whaaattt? anyone explains that" as you never watched piece of cinematography. if you keep watching it will be explained as everything else
Me too! I was bummed about that. I wanted to see them react to that d-bag Jade and his ridiculous antics running around town, thinking it was all a big game that his friend set up. I found that hilarious. He was so obnoxious, I was cracking up.
It’s crazy how the people around Victor can’t see that his growth his stunted. He has the mind of a child.
Yeah, because he had no one to teach him anything since he was young...
