What a lovely and unique collection! My favorite is the converted pocket watch. I’m also partial to the BB58’s as I have both of those as well. Did you ever find a bronze clasp? I ended up with a rose gold one to match the hands.
@@danthemanshuman Thank you. I wish I could tell you I found a buckle… I’m still looking. The best alternative I’ve found is a branded buckle by Baltic. It costs a lot to ship since it’s in the UK… I’m just not sure if it’s worth approximately 60 bucks total for a branded buckle.
Hey Patrick 👋 I'll just respond here to some of the watches you mention: *Tissot PRX (SOLD)* I think I'll keep my PRX in quartz with black dial as a worry-free quartz watch, but it's not a "special" watch by any means. *Formex "Space Rock" (SOLD)* Absolutely great that you passed this on to someone who was really sorry they missed their chance before. Previously you told a story of trying to help another collector, but this time you were successful. 👍 *GW-5000U (SOLD)* I often hear people say "every collection needs a g-shock", and I don't know how serious they are about that, but obviously nobody _"needs"_ to listen to anyone else's ideas about what they should own. I'm glad you gave this watch a shot, though. *Girard-Perregaux 38mm Laureato "Bamford"* I've said it before and I'll say it again: Awesome watch. Love it, love it, love it. Hey, I'm going to become a GP owner myself in January. After missing my chance initially, it's a Christmas Miracle that I've secured an allocation for a Casquette 2.0 Titanium&Gold. Quentin at GP is a hero in my house. *Wyler Code-R Tantalum* Cool watch! I may have to pick up a tantalum watch myself, though I'm not a chrono guy. *Zodiac Super Sea-Wolf Meteorite* Probably a good plan to sell. Perfectly fine watch that someone will love. *Seiko "Discus-Burger"* Neat! Rare & cool. *Crazy Ass Dune 2 Watch* You know damn well it's crazy. I like it, especially that bonkers crystal. I have a Hamilton PSR, and the crystal is a highlight of that watch, too (though it's not nearly as large & impressive). *Seiko "Jay Leno"* Really cool! Pretty good pick by Mr. Leno. *Grand Seiko SBGY009* A manual winder does need a crown that's pleasant to use. I'm becoming partial to onion crowns. I tried a big ass diamond crown and that's not for me (dug into my wrist). *Vortic conversion* Awesome. A highlight, IMO. *Rado DiaStar* I really like this one. A tungsten case, b/c of course! One of my favorites. *Sinn U50 Pro* I took a good look at Sinn, and I'd love a U50. I could make do with a non-limited model. *MECEXP MS1000 (titanium)* That one will definitely get some comments. Normally we say "nobody cares about your watch", but it's less true for that one. Really neat. *Doxa Army (ceramic)* It's a really cool looking watch, but I might even agree that non-limited model in steel with the green bezel looks even a bit better. *Rolex SkyDweller* Their most complicated watch, and yours is a beaut. I don't think about Rolex much, but I'm no hater. ---- You have a great collection, and I'm interested to see how it continues to evolve. Thanks, Patrick 👍
@@PocketWatchTime Thanks very much, Patrick! I fully expected not to get one, because I didn't register my interest until the 10th day, and I had to answer "no" to the ownership question. However, I replied in kind to the (very well written & pleasant) form letter as if it had been written specifically for me. Not everyone who gets an allocation follows through, and I was very lucky. Quentin at GP, _I speak your name_ !! Thanks for your kind words, and I'll stay tuned of course. 👍
Very cool. That red dial mod is probably my favorite. I found myself with 31 watches and decided 30/31 was the largest collection you should have because you can tell yourself you could wear one a day if you wanted. 🤣
What an awesome collection, so many interesting pieces, The White G.P. Laureato Bamford, the Moonphase Credor, the Vortic Waltham are absolutely Gorgeous, Thank you for sharing your interesting collection, the coolest SOTC so far and ive seen a few this month.
@@WristfullIgnorance Thank you. I don’t hide my face that much… On a recent video someone told me in the comments I showed my face “too much“. I guess that means I’m not that pretty to look at. 🤣

I have a Hamilton Ventura skeleton XXL which I love but wear very infrequently….. and even I have to question the Dune!!!!!!! 😊 lovely video thanks for sharing………
I am very sad you sold the G-Shock, I drive 18 wheelers for a living and haul flatbed on top of that so I wear a G-Shock to work everyday, it stands up to the vibration of being on the truck day in and day out and the shocks of throwing chain/straps. Edit: The Dune watch is too cool! I would buy one if Hamilton didnt have them so ridiculously overpriced That Mecexp 2000 is too cool also!
@@Z-S-H It sounds like your work is perfectly suited for a G-Shock. If I had to deal with all those shocks and vibrations, I’d have to give G-Shock another chance. And maybe I will someday. Dune watch is cool… But you’re right it’s way too expensive. MECEXP is $400 and electronic. Besides water resistance… I think it’s pretty tough.
Should you decide to move on from the black discus burger, I am a buyer. Don't know it would happen and how we'll do it but I am interested. Great collection by the way. Enjoy!
@@PocketWatchTime Hopefully you'll report having worn some on occasion... :^) I'm still waiting for the Sangamo Special to come back from service, so haven't put the kangaroo strap I won on it yet. I'm making do with a 16S Waltham 23J up/down and Hampden model 104 23J. They've taken all of the abuse from regular use with flying colors!
@@PocketWatchTime when i feel like wearing a pocket watch, i just put it in the pocket, and try to match what i have on my wrist. Having about 30 wrist watches i love, and 20 pocket watches, i totally understand how it feels to not be able to wear something enough.
@@PocketWatchTime due to the holiday, usually this time of year is awful for getting a good deal on a good pocket watch. Oddly I’ve gotten a few really good ones. It’s a sign of the times I guess. With this economy the past few years, it’s just remaining a buyers market this year. The E Howard I recently got at an auction at about 40% of what I would say it’s worth. I also got a Hamilton 978 in a display back with movement swing out case for under $150. It’s currently running at -5 seconds a day average pendent up&face up. It’s one of my most accurate buys “out of the box” making it #2 in the top three in that category of 17 jewel movements. The other two are a Hamilton 956 & Waltham 625. They run about the same. I wore the 956 for a year as an everyday. It’s still running the same whenever I take it out. The swing out/display back case I’ve only seen a few of in my years collecting. I’m not sure if they were actual manufactured or a jewelers/machinist custom thing. If so the couple I have are a really good job. The one with the Hamilton 978 has sucky acrylic instead of glass that I’m sure were just newly slapped in but the seller, as it seems to have been serviced. I don’t blame him, but they are going to have to go.
