@@CorruptEyes thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) That’s right but I don’t think you watched until the end. The baseline was in 7a (D minor) which works harmonically with the main track in 8a (A minor) - on paper they work harmonically together and in reality that was pretty close. It isn’t a perfect science but it is as close as mixing in key will allow without editing the track myself in FL and making it a complete edit or changing the key on the decks - which was even further out and didn’t work (this was the closest harmonic match).
@@ebow707 I'm not sure why watching to the end matters when my ears told me all i needed to hear? And you further proved my point with the key difference info. Yes it is close, but i felt like you did such a killer job of loop and acapella build up only to be let down by the bassline. In the end it's what you like and wanted.
@@CorruptEyes I understand but that’s how you makes chords chief, by putting more than one note together with other notes in the same chord progression, which these notes are. To further prove this theory, the acapella which you are happy with is also in the same note D minor (7a on the Camelot wheel). I think what you can hear is only something that I could edit by messing about with frequencies in FL to accentuate the harmonic ones over the other frequencies - I didn’t do that because I wanted to create something easy for people to try without having all the extra equipment. Appreciate the comment and challenge though chief - it shows you have a good ear
@@ebow707 I doubt that, by belittling me with explaining chords doesn't show much appreciation. You almost created a great dissonance, but failed with the bassline track. And no not every mix should be in key, but the energy felt like it dropped instead of a climax. We'll just agree to disagree. Besides, my point isn't the main lesson of what you're trying to help others with, so like i said, you did what you liked, but if i was on the dance floor hearing THAT, i would look around with an "is it just me or does that sound off?" face...
@@CorruptEyes You started the conversation off with “cute” - that could also be considered as belittling if you want to over analyse things. Belittling you was not my intention, apologies.
