- Phew, this was a long day. I spent too much of it looking at arrangements and writing out parts. There's a lot more I'd like to do given more time (not least some better takes) but I'm quite pleased with this.
In the intro I mentioned my Canzon Cataclysmico project but YT won't allow me to make a card with a link to an external site, so here's a link to the work that I mentioned

Hooray for Spring!
Happy Spring, Mr O'G!
Love it...
Thanks John!
I like it. It has an Emerson Lake and Palmer feel to it. ELP was one of my favorite group back in my distant youth. Cheers!
Bands like ELP and Sky are big influences, I've always loved the mix of rock and early / classical music.
A little bit of Frank Zappa, too.
Ah, there is never not a good time for a bit of hey noney no, a fa-la-la-la-la or two and a bit of Maying. Great mixture as always :)
You're absolutely right! Thanks Kevin.
Hey NonnyNonny and Happy Eostre, Pea. You so rule, my friend. xx
Thanks for stopping by and glad you enjoyed it. I'd love to hear your guitar improv over this.
You said you can't imagine being able to play and sing at the same time... well I can't imagine being able to find a piece of sheet music and then play it. That looks like mumbo jumbo to me. I wish I could read it but I can't. So I guess we all have different strengths and weaknesses. Anyway, this sounded so good with the 2 different recorders. And I love how the distorted guitar just blends perfectly. Nice arrangement.
It's a blend of instruments and musical style that I really like. Expect to hear more. I've never settled on a good lead guitar sound but yesterday I found one that worked pretty well for me, so I'm encouraged by that. I have the advantage of having learned to read music from age 6 but that was brass. I did have piano lessons but struggled with that, so my ability to play from notation is limited to one line of notes at a time, eg brass or woodwind (or one hand at a time on the keyboard). Thanks for listening!
How did you become a well versed musician & technological genius all in one lifetime? Were your parents musicians or creators as well?
