Very well said. Depressed people are often very unkind in the way that they think about themselves. They are often their own harshest critic.

These past few weeks have been mostly joyless. I’ve gotten to a point where I have had to put my creative endeavors aside to make money. Not a lot of money. Just enough to keep me from becoming unhoused. This doesn't make me feel like a failure. Instead, I just feel not alive, unreal, like I’m trapped between waking and sleep, a liminal dream space on the precipice of tumbling into a nightmare. I will ruminate on what you’ve said.
