    Great video well put together and organised I especially love the map presentation at the end with the parking advice, you just need to catch some bigger fish

      Thanks for the cool comment, I hesitate to say it but 'you're right' we could do with some bigger fish, especially the Codling luckily we filmed a video recently containing just that (bigger Codling) hope you like the video when it gets uploaded. Thanks for watching. All the best 🎣 👍

    The last section you fished is Columbus Quay , I fish it for Rays
    Great video

      Thanks for your comment Ian, & glad you liked the video. I had an idea it was Columbus Quay, just didn't want to assume. Thanks for the confirmation I can start calling it by its correct name now 👍 I'll have to try for a Ray from that point maybe. All the best & tight lines.

    I was fishing the same tide as you but up Jericho Lane end , seen the same fireworks 😄
    I had tons of bites but they weren't connecting with my 6/0's ( by design)
    Great vid 👌🏻... and my theory on the lack of Cod this season on the Mersey I think has to do with the mild winter we're having , or the foreign trawlers hoovering them up 🙄

      Thanks for the kind comment pal, glad you like the vid, I use all kinds of different sizes of hooks & rigs, blanked many a time & had fish many a time too, I'm defo no authority on such matters...as long as fish are caught that's the main aim. Obviously responsibly & safely. I will however always find it amazing how the smaller fish can end up on huge hooks 🪝 had a whiting recently on a hook nearly as big as its head 😂 as for the lack of cod (or at least decent cod this year) gosh only knows for sure could be anything from natural cycles, to man made problems (of which there are many), weather or even all of the above. I'll let others decide 😉 Tight lines pal, keep finding fish 👍

    Top vid pal! Just started sea fishing about 6 months ago and wasted plenty of petrol driving from Chorley to Otterspool! When you say sticking to the margins, what sort of distance are you casting out? I’m always trying to wang it as far as I can! Looking forward to more vids (saw you via your post on Facebook).

      Thanks for your comment John, by margins, I literally mean an underarm cast at most, my friend, dad and lots of others cast further out most of the time (some cases alot) & still have fish so it's not the rule by any means, my decision to stick to the margins alot includes less snags, less tidal pull and less chance of a fish pulling you in a snag. All just theory but seem to work for me. Hope you can get out and find some fish pal. I think time & fuel is only ever wasted if you didn't learn or get pleasure from a session. Tight lines!

    number one spot was by kids play area for me ,and by Chinese restaurant

    • @FindingFishUK
      @FindingFishUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they are both good spots, we have been slightly lazy with first world problems of wanting to be close to the van for brews if I'm honest and the spots on our videos have been ones we have visited the most just for that reason .... but as you and others know they are by far the best spots for consistent catches on the Mersey, there are quite a number of marks. Thanks for the comment, watch out in future for videos of near the Chinese and further up otterspool near the play area. All the best pal, Tightlines.

    Good iformative video,but why measure such small codling?

    • @FindingFishUK
      @FindingFishUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks for your comment & happy to know you found it informative...measuring fish is always a handy thing re: legal size etc.. but the honest answer to your question is 'there's not alot of reason' & considering its obviously not even close to the legal limit again seemingly pointless... however... I decided to measure fish (if I can remember when filming) as means of documentation really (so I have the info on sizes of my cod catches if I wanted to do anything with the info later) & because this year's cod sizes on the mersey have been so small I again thought for any future use its a quick & easy thing to do. Hope that helps, sorry for the long reply.

    If I can PM you I will give you a list of my Mersey marks

    • @FindingFishUK
      @FindingFishUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the PM, we do know those marks and fished a few on the channel, but only tend to fish the ones very close to car/van as my dads hip isn't great. But obviously stay tuned we can't rule out any of the marks you've listed. Thanks again. All the best, Dave & Tim.
