The only thing more ridiculous than the sheer number of times Ryuga attempted to 2-frame was how it never worked a single time. As someone trying to pick up Ike, that was so confusing.
As a roy player erruption is tough to avoid so good on him for going for it. the dairs ahh not the best option tbh. one frame spike trying to hit a two frame recovery is tough
Celtic Wind against Roy dair can be a better 2 frame option than eruption. Dair is huge and active for 2 frames while also being way less laggy while landing. Eruption might be easier to hit but if you miss Roy can get an easy combo to punish
Seeing Roy and Ike this good in Smash Bros brings joy to my heart. Also, it wouldn't hurt Goblin to use his neutral B a bit more while fishing for kill confirms. That attack is especially good for killing off stage, let alone killing at high percents in general.
I play Ike, but if I were Roy, I'd be dashing off-stage to snag some counters on Quick Draw. Easier and maybe deadlier than the Dair he fished and got burned for. Still, phenom play.
I wonder why no one complains about Roy. I see complaints about Ike, Lucina, Chrom, Marth, Robin, and Corrin (albeit less for The last two), but I don't think I've seen a single complaint about Roy. Not that I'm complaining. Roy's my boy.

VoiD hasn't played Roy much at all in super majors or majors in Ultimate, he played him only in a weekly iirc (correct me if I am wrong). Leffen has not played Roy in tournament at all in Ultimate Update as of March 4, Leffen is playing Roy, but when this comment was made Leffen hadn't played him yet in tournament.

Oddly enough, that's a lot harder than it sounds. The Ike can choose to either release side b early to go on stage or wait a second and go to the ledge. It's very hard to guess what the Ike player will do, and more often than not, it's not worth going off stage and surrendering stage control. Additionally, if you mistime the counter and get hit, Ike is free to do whatever he wants. If they save their double jump, then they'll probably be close enough to stage to jump back on or at least grab ledge.
@@aykh1705 All that is fixed by a bit of training. If ike decides to go on a stage early i could just hit him back again cause hes side b has lot of lag at the end. And if i time it poorly there is not really much ike can do. Bair maybe but that is risky. But if you are Mkleo then it is alright to do that
@@art2norrman872 lol no. Depending on how far you send Ike and that's usually far.They can recover high. Since Side B sends Ike so far, some characters don't have enough speed to meet where he lands
Training or not, Ike can mix up his recovery. And it isn't always great to give up stage control. And Roy doesn't even have the best off stage game either..
[insert funny name here] yea they were. I’m just saying goblin is a much more skilled player and ryuga just n-airs into any aerial and prays for b-air to hit at high percents. Ike is the easiest character to play in this game IMO
Sergio Ramirez i greatly disagree, Ryuga's footwork was insane this match and Ike takes a lot of footwork and spacing to play against a much faster opponent. to say that ike carried him is an insult to ryuga's play
@@sergioramirezrecinos2753 LOL literally Ike is punishable off of a non-spaced Nair on shield so to consistently space it on a moving opponent is extremely difficult. Compared to Roy who easily has better frame data and safer ground/aerial moves that also combo into easy kills (jab to bair or even side b combo that also kills). I can't tell if you even play at a competitive level at all or don't play either character.

goblin was too aggressive. ryuga just played patient and instilled fear.

Why dont people just edgeguard Ike? Just go offstage and counter Ikes side special and thats a dead Ike
