Fossil Sydney is my favorite bag as well. I own three of 4 of them; one in gray, one in the color mushroom, a brown one with pink polka dots and a burgundy one. It amazes me how roomy they are without having to carry around a huge bag. I fit so much in them. Love, love, love them!!
I went to my store too and had the same conversation you did with the salesperson. I came home a got two more online. The new model isn't as well designed as the Sydney . It's my favorite too. I wrote to Fossil and asked them bring it back. Someone should start a petition to bring it back! lol

I got mine three weeks ago from Sydney Australia while on holiday. It was from one of those huge outlet stores. They didn't have it in their main shop in Sydney though. If I had the monies, I would have bought the other colours as they had a good number of bags over there. To be exact, it was at DFO Homebush in Sydney.
So glad I finally managed to find this bag on eBay-in fact I have ended up with the brown and a beautiful mint green for summer- love the bag as it's so practical! I also have a Molly in Wine, which also has the zippers that go all the way down. The only thing missing on that is the deep slip pocket on the back, but it instead has a zip pocket that goes right across under a flap of contrasting leather -a good compromise if you can't find a sydney !
This will continue to be my most lusted after handbag. I could never justify spending close to two hundred dollars on myself. I'll just live vicariously though you:) Tfs!

The price is steep, the wine cost about $10 less. This bag is just as everyone has described. But, I do suggest not overloading it. It is a lightweight bag that quickly can become heavy because of all the space inside that you want to fill.

I have to ask you your opinion. Have you seen their new Rachel satchel. I’m trying to decide. I’ve been watching videos and some say the Rachel is slouching than the Rachel. Their are some other differences. Rachel doesn’t have the feet, handle attachment doesn’t come down on front of bag, Rachel has 2 outside pockets. I could get Rachel cheaper than trying to get Sidney on eBay. I’m just wondering since you have several of these bags. I think people say Rachel has a little more stiffness. I worked for Fossil. Quality is lacking, despite efforts to slowly improve and to build a more recognizable brand. Also, the products sold through secondary retailers (like Macy's or Fossil outlet stores) are not the same products sold through the website and Fossil stores. For every ten bags, only would be fit to sell. (Poor stitching, scuffed leather, visible glue, etc.) You can get better quality elsewhere.
Why would Fossil not sell their first quality bags at other retail stores? Outlets I can understand, but you would think they would sell their best stuff at theirs and other department stores.

The leather is different, the material is different....they're just different. What I loathe is people buying these new versions and selling them as old versions.....UGH. People, stop it!
