OK THANKS! Did not realize top retaining ring was a thread on! Fabulous! Videos like this show just how so the part does not get broken. My valves are in a dark storage shed so maybe a flood light would have exposed the presence of threads, maybe not. Thank you. 👍
Hmmm, mine is clicking (sticking/torquing) . I've swapped the actuator, I've swapped the diverter assembly and in fact replaced the valve cap. STill binding half way between the 2 pipes. I don't think it's gears, I've replaced a few of these but I'm at a loss. Any idea? I've pulled it apart several times, and thought maybe there was a rock or something, but thats not it. If I force the valve to open with my hand while it's binding, I can get it to switch sides. Then the reverse direction is without issue, does it fine, which tells me there is nothing in the way. But flipping the switch up, which turns it to the left (in my case), binds and you see the entire assembly start torquing.. I'm at a loss, any idea?
@@malibupools6346 I think Thomas wanted to manually turn the actuator without the motor - which can't be done. Yes, the switch will move the value, but if the motor is dead or you are not getting voltage, then you are SOL...

so top cam is clockwise....bottom is counter clockwise ? my cams are black older or newer?
Is there a way to manual turn this acuator?
YES THERES A TOGGLE SWITCH UNDER THE VALVE OR THE BACK SIDE OF VALVE
