    I don't think I've ever seen Noiri hurt like that; he's usually the one hurting his opponents but I guess this fight was a wake up call in a new division.

    Noiri has met someone who plays the same game and lost. I don't like his cocky style but hopefully he realises the holes in his game and improve.

    In my first kickboxing fight ever, which I got on two days notice I had something like that happen to me. My last competition was 2 years earlier in point fighting karate, so I was trying to have a technical fight at range. The thing is I went in there with no coaches and I hadn't been training for 3 weeks. So when my opponent just came at me like that with a strenght advantage and a lower base, I got my ass whooped in the first round. I started to do better in the second, but because I hadn't trained for a long time, my heart condition cut the fight short. I was very disapointed, but still happy to fight and I learned a lot from it.

    I like that the ref let them fight up close. Some ONE refs seem to jump all over anything resembling a clinch in kickboxing.
    Of course, the fighters were also doing a great job of not breaking the rules.

    What would Buakaw have done in such close quarters in kick boxing? I suspect he would have been sweeping Mengyang off his feet and delivering knees every time he came in close like that. Thoughts?

    • @untill1289
      @untill1289 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yup, step in knees. Sam-A recently did that against an aggressive opponent in kickboxing. Buakaw would also teep a lot like against Holzken.

    This is a pretty standard Noiri fighting. He fought like this in K-1 and also in the Match where he tried this against Kaito who beat him at his own style.

    • @valmirhajrizaj7694
      @valmirhajrizaj7694 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      But to be fair that fight and the kaito fight both were very close. If noiri is getting go a bit faster or earlier he would have won

  • @williamhuang6882
    @williamhuang6882 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I believe Noiri is fighting in featherweight as this is where all the big kickboxing names are situated, however he is slightly too small. This is evidenced by his boxing and knees which aren't having the same effect on his opponents as we've seen in his K1 days. I wonder if it'd be wiser for him to drop to bantamweight?

    I think Noiri should have made some space. IMO he did his best work at (I think) the beginning of the third where he made a little room and put the other guy at straight punch and round kick range. Interesting fight though. Hell of a grind for both guys.

  • @elserpientethechamp2122

    Honestly you were right very little almost no clinching but fighting at such tight range was very interesting. The cross Noiri landed was pretty awesome because it landed so unorthodox in tight. I had the fight scored round 2 for Noiri and round 1 and 3 for Chinese fighter. Round 2 was really close imo. But pure domination from Liu I must say. 🥊

  • @PeanutButterCoffeeBread
    @PeanutButterCoffeeBread 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    To me this is 100% because the professionalism the referee of this fight brought with him.
    He was splitting them quickly at first, but because he saw action, he let them fight tightly. While most refs would just work "as they should" and have a static approach to fights.
    I wonder what his name is, he should be taking over in more fights.

    Masaaki Noiri has been killing it on the local japanese promotions like Krush, he's out of the same gym/team as Takeru, he's super tight and with his boxing, sharp and powerful combinations great lowkicks, but I always feel his output is too little too late, it's takes him forever to let his hands go, plus he seems at times to get lazy or cocky with his defense at times, if he could up his output a bit more and work on his defense he would be mercing people left and right, to be fair he's been thrown in the deep end in ONE but I think he'll get better and on a win streak.(good catch on the size diference, I didn't notice Liu did seem to size bully Noiri where it's usually the other way around)

    Disappointing outcome. I really thought that after his loss to Sittichai, Noiri would come into this fight fully locked in and ready to prove himself. But here he just looks bored and way too relaxed.
    That knockdown in the first round should not have happened at all, and it was the beginning of the end for Noiri. It gave his opponent a massive psychological edge as he knows he just secured a big lead in points and now has a high chance of winning.

    Gabriel, I recently was watching a clip where a mma fighter steps on the opponents foot in order to deny their movement and land a strike. Have you ever done this or has this ever happened to you? I know it's not legal in boxing and in most kickboxing promotions, but seems to be legal in both mma and muay thai. Let me know your thoughts if you think this is a dirty trick or a clever trap?

    • @didjitalone9544

      The rules say nothing about "dirty tricks" or "clever traps".
      If a technique complies with the rules it is fair game.

    Seems like Noiri doesn't know how to punch moving backwards nor does he know to angle out. Liu isn't doing any special, just constantly moving forward in a straight line. Liu doesn't even have to cut off the ring because Noiri just stands in front of him.

  • @ArtistDaynz90

    He does have the tendency to have that lazy cocky thing going. It's annoying to see and stupid for him to do. Now that Yuki left K1 maybe we will see him in ONE. I feel he is gonna do better than masaaki has so far. I will say though, that masaaki won this fight. Besides the knock down, his opponent didn't do much of anything but lean on him lol.

    Still, its almost like they were clinching the whole time without actually clinching.
    5:20 you talk about 10/8 round, that is interesting, I wasn't aware that the 10 point must system worked that way.

      @bluepin3005 K-1 is so incredibly biased. It's one thing to score in a biased way but K-1 fighters just straight up get bombed outside. And then they pull dirty tricks on many Thai and Chinese fighters. They don't have their Japanese mafia to protect them.

    And this is why kickboxing sucks, you would get knocked out by elbows or slaughtered in the clinch fighting like this. It's just frustrating to watch.

    • @vrpnblstr3441
      @vrpnblstr3441 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I don't see your point here, you wouldnt fight exactly like that in muay thai bc its not the same rules, true. But a similar gameplan is still adaptable to Muay Thai, as in trying to smother your opponent in a constant game of clinches and short distance combinations.

    • @MrMisterBatman
      @MrMisterBatman 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Saying kickboxing sucks because their style leaves them open to elbows is like saying Muay Thai sucks because their style leaves them open to takedowns. They're all different sports with different rules, and obviously the fighters will adjust their style based on the ruleset.
