late comment but the early 2000s is when Pinkerton started getting it's flowers, once emo was beginning to get big people began to look back at Pinkerton fondly
@@jckdog it was more because Rivers fucking hated the album at the time. He was only doing these songs to appease fan demand at the time, he was still mortified by the record, though he clearly still gave it his all on stage
Interesting that they were playing this in 2000, as Rivers would dismiss "Pinkerton" in the media the following year. There was even a period where he didn't play any songs from it and publicly threatened to put it out of print. RIP Mikey.
Pinkerton was the best album I thought they ever did, hands down. I wish weezer would go back to this style they had. Nowadays, their music sounds like it should be on the Disney channel.
tommy k Have you heard their new album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End? It was a deliberate attempt to sound more like they did in the '90s, and most fans (myself included) consider it to be their best in years. Give it a whirl.

This song was me walking through grocery stores; dark thoughts (like dark matter; quite a heavy burden) popped up when I wasn't thinking "I sure would like to keep sex in marriage with one wife." Damn it - those dark thoughts were robbing me of precious life. And if I would continue in them they still would, so I need light thoughts that I can bear and I need those light thoughts all the time.

anything that displays a great deal of talent will always cause a strong reaction. It's not necessarily about good and bad, although sometimes it is. The point is, if something sucks, then simply people ignore it. People only get excited about something that touches them. Which again, is not necessarily a good/bad thing.
Man, Rivers is a sick guitarist. Listen to that sustain. I wonder what he's using other than just the amp. Probably a big muff. On a completely different note, I think they were blazed here, or at least really wiped out. But who knows, Brian always looks high, Rivers is kinda shy, Pat's just awesome, and they've changed bassists too much for me to remember who this is haha (:

such a great performance of a great song, that solo rips so hard, incredible
that fucking solo though
