And when I was checking some odds before the game on Stake they were massive underdogs so all I can do is take my hat off really. I was at the game and first of all…Atlanta fans are the best in the MLS! What an atmosphere! Secondly, if you know ball, you’d know Messi was actually immense in the second half with his playmaking, Miami players just couldn’t finish

That was tremendous! From the action to the atmosphere in Atlanta. American futbol is pretty damned exciting and I think we SHOULD be experimenting with the rules over here. I'm digging the playoff format and kinda wish they'd do best of three all the way thru. Including the final. Just to see if it's something the rest of the world might dig, too. Attendance for mid-week playoff games is the sticking point I think.
I agree, people are always hating on it for being too “American” but it allows for home team advantage to set in at least once
The main issue will always be length--that takes waaaaayyy too much time, you'd have hardly any time for the off-season. Plus, there are problems with it, and more and more people would complain louder and louder if it was extended. This is the best they can do considering the circumstances of Apple demanding more games and the push for growth through more fans getting home playoff games.

As a TFC fan (yes, they are still members of MLS), I used to hate Atlanta dating back to that Jozy Altidore incident where fans threw cups at him after the US failed to qualify for the World Cup (in 2018 I think). But, this iteration has me cheering .They put up a great fight in game one, and Brad Guzan was amazing. Then, he is the victim of a horrible "mistake" or bad luck. But they fight back and despite nearly winning on an absolute golazo that glances off Calllender and the bar they win at the death on a beautifully worked goal and a rifle of a shot.
I have a watched a fair bit of this sport and few games had the excitement and atmosphere of this one. 70 000 fans and a game that you couldn't take your eyes off it. Bringing over a third of the great FC Barcelona team to the league is looking like a great move by the league.
