There's a lot of fear buying new chairs nowadays due to some just being marked up junk that's only good for certain people. Appreciate vids like this a bunch. Definitely going to stick with my worn in office chair but hope to one day get something snazzy and more comfy. Cheers
I agree Luis! It was a shocker to me. I thought at $600 this had to be a pretty good chair. It's seriously marked up. Already since it came in they've reduced the price to $499, $449 "on sale" right now so hopefully reviews like this help people realize what they're getting into
Some gaming chairs look like "racing car seats", designed to keep the driver snug to not move around a lot. My pro tip is, cooler is not always better, you want to be able to move your arms/body some what freely when gaming to avoid cramps and such. I'm not saying all gaming chairs have this as an issue, but don't go with cheap ones.
@@jaybratt Yeah the seat is really comfy and contoured to fit your backside naturally, the slight saddle shape means there isn't anything pressing under your thighs and its wide enough you can sit cross legged or whatever. I was skeptical, when a few guitar people recommended it. My wife got me one for my birthday about 7 tears ago and it ended up being the most comfortable chair in the house, got her one too a year later. We often put 12-18 hours a day in them. It's quite stressful buying chairs, I have a small collection in the back of the garage that I should probably donate. Keep hoping they will bring back tax rebates for donations.
What the gaming chair industry does right over anything is their pricing/value ratio. Which comes down to their audience not necessarily having the big funds to spend 1-1.5k on chair. I have the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 with fabric and that chair is awesome, 550 euro. For something similar in features and quality in the office market, you start at 800-1000 euro. As it says, office chairs are marketed towards businesses who dont care, they buy and deduce it from their taxes as a business expense. For a private person that puts a dent in your wallet.
Yeah, to a business buying $10K of chairs isn't an odd thing to do but for an individual one chair can make or break your account and the regret you'd have if you spent this much on a bad chair... that would be awful!
I've had much better experience with office chairs than gaming chairs, but my price point has always been under $300. Like, I would love to try out a Herman Miller or Steelcase chair before laying down that kinda money. Secret Lab seems to be a good compromise at a more moderate price that I might realistically purchase.
I prefer ergonomic chairs, just because i have back problems . I also like gaming chairs, but they are hard to find, with great quality and most of em have bad materials, like cheap plastics and thin metal.

Haha 600 dollers wow, even 500 is a lot. I think ergonomic chairs are nice but the prices are rediculas, I have a very old AKracing gaming chair, was great but now falling apart and can't afford a replacement as chair prices have gone way to high and 90% of the chairs out there just arnt worth it. I'm a big fella as well so would need the heavy duty big boys lol

One of the main reasons why I cannot use office chairs is they recline too much and do not allow you to sot completely upright like a racing chair.
That's a good point! You can get racing chairs to almost make you sit forward if you want to where office type chairs don't allow for that.

I really like my Soundseat Guitar chair. Kind of pricy and made to order but they make for pretty good task, gaming, guitar playing chairs.
Just googled them. Very unique shape. I bet they allow a lot of freedom of movement!
