Rotel amps are quite transparent and robust, but their midrange is slightly lean and highs can be bright. For Home theater application they're excellent, for two channel music hifi careful matching with speakers is essential.
Hi, I have a Rotel 1582 MKII connected directly to a DAC controlled by a LUMIN Leedh volume control and it sounds amazing with demanding speakers like Borresen X3. I really like ROTEL amplifiers.
Having owned the Monolith line (200 watt amps NOT the 90 watt line) and Emotiva BasX and XPAs (past & present) the 200 watt Monoliths are made by ATI and they are far superior to Emotiva's IMO. The Monolith's are probably a better value than the Rotel. (Made in USA and backed by a 5 year warranty.) ATI makes amps for very high-end boutique brands such as Trinnov, Lexicon, Theata Digital etc. Just look at some of the reviews of ATI amps and you'll get a good idea of their quality and performance. Not much to look at but no arguing their build quality.
Dude like the black and white overlaying the colored stones video. Nice style 👍 I've owned Rotel RB985 and RB985mk2 back in the day. Rotel is good stuff
Great review. I have always been a fan of Rotel. I have 3 RMB1095 amps in my room right now. They've served me well for nearly 25 years now and it will be time to move to the Trinnov next. That will be a bittersweet day for me. I also have the slight hissing sound coming from my speakers. It's faint, only noted when nothing is playing and you place your ear right up next to the speaker.
I have the mk1. Very happy with it. It's powering 5 x Tannoy definition speakers with ease (DC8Ti, DC8 and DC6 LCR) I do wish they hadn't stopped making processors though. My RSP-1576MKII never did quite live up to my expectations in relation to usability/bugs. But together the two sound wise are very good!
I have the original 1585 and it doesn’t disappoint. At the time I had RBH speakers hooked up to an Integra AVR with Dirac and it sounded great, or so I thought…. After adding the 1585 best way I could describe is that the speakers now had an aura of sound coming out of the speakers. Great amplifier!!!
Have had this amp for a few years. One of the few components I will never sell. Have sold and bought a lot in this hobby, but there are some components that I can't part with. This is one of them.
Hi shane lee i love watching your videos i have a Question sir between sony flagship rz700e and Yamaha A8A Wich one do you highly recommend sir? Sound quality and performance....
Have an RMB1582 mk2 (200W) and a RMB1555 (120W) for our 7.2 setup. The Oppo 205 is our player which is hooked up to LG's W9 oled. The sound is a massive upgrade from our previous Marantz mid tier receiver.
Used to own the earlier 1585, great Money - Power ratio. But it loses easily when compared to some newer Clasd D amplifiers or even Class G. Especially in regards to clarity.
Interesting comment, I'm using stereo 1552 MK2 and recently upgraded my speakers to proacs that have much better resolution than previous ones. Thinking about testing class d, is there anything you can recommend? Thinking about topping b100 monoblocks.
@@Karto86 I believe one of the best if not the best class D amp out there now is the Lyngdorf MXA-8400. Now I assume you are looking at a 2 channel amp. The NAD C 298 is very impressive, especially if you dont mind the kind of boring look. M23 is a bit above in terms of build quality but C 298 for the price is very nice. Unfortunately my experience with Topping is only for headphones amps, usually delivers great products though, thats at least my experience.
I tried the Lyngdorf MXA-8400, and it is horrendously cold and lifeless. If you have a ROTEL, which is warm, you will most likely not like the Lyngdorf.

Is it worth the money when compared to Emotiva or Monolith?

Been running Rotel RMB-1075 5 Channel Power Amplifier for years, no complaints so far.
Hi Shane, you say there’s a slight hiss due to the sound floor but how would this be corrected?
Thanks
How can you fix the hiss??
Happy with my two channel rotel mx2❤

how this will compare to anthem mca525 mk2?
i had the original 1585 and then moved to the mca525mk2. The Anthem does sound better, however value wise, the rotel gives far more for the money.

Ha! I have the exact same 2 amps

The only thing I heard was the great sound from midway I definitely gotta cop that movie just for the sound very detail like ah mf 😮💨
I have 1582 mk1 with b&w cm10 and feel it’s not that great 🤷🏻♂️
To expensive
I owned the 1590 and 2 1585.
From my experience Rotel are average. My 1590 needed repairing. They want £570. Hahaha bye bye
Class AB not sure that is the way to go / vintage ok/ D is getting better - price wise - bass- / think about it
