- I've been illustrating online for about a year and a half now and wanted to share with you how much money I make as an artist at this point in my art journey in case it helps you with your own art journey.
There are plenty of other ways that you can make money with your art, these are just the ones that I'm doing at the moment and that work for me!

This was very insightful, and broke it down very well. I've not seen anyone else, even long established TH-cam artists explain this topic in such detail, which you'd think they would but they seem to be very secretive about it, which makes me appreciate you explaining it so easily for many of us who want to understand making a career from being an artist nowadays. Ah thank you so much for the kind words! These days I charge AUD$50 for a simple portrait of one person but it varies a bit if there are backgrounds or extra bits involved. I might make a video in the future about selling commissions because I remember being a bit confused about it when I started doing them!
@@MimimooIllustration Thank you for your answer! Yes, it is something I struggle with. I've been making quite some commissions lately, but find myself a bit puzzled about pricing.
@@manonm5879 I think it's a good starting point to roughly know how long the commissions take you to create and then know how much you need/want to be making per hour and apply that
it is a competition tho. ha ha if someone is going to spend $20 on one artist and there are 100 artists 99 of them will not get that money. this video might be providing insight but art is still war
