Back when they debuted with Hocus Pocus I was tired of the tropical house trend, so I did not give it much attention, but since I am now tired of the retro trend, I went back to listen to it again and now it is on repeat. 🤡
Cool was indeed a b-side. And I also think that Venom is not quite as good as their earlier stuff. However, I'm just so happy that they're actually back and didn't just disband after two years of inactivity. That being said, Dramatic is absolute perfection and imo still by far their best song. I went fucking insane when I heard it for the first time. Not many songs do that to me. Dramatic is one of them.

Cool was produced by some known ppl tbh: Anna Timgren, Any Masingga, Fuxxy, VINCENZO are the composers and writers while Lee Ju-seob, VINCENZO are the producers :D. I believe Anna Timgren has done some sm song as well as loona's so what, viviz's bop bop, and fromis9's talk and talk (and some others) I dont know much about the others but here's what i found: Any Masingga: it seems like she has worked quite a lot with mnh (bvndit's dumb and chungha's play and stay tonight), she's participated in some g-idle bsides aaand and Gfriend's Rainbow :O. Fuxxy: Same as Any Masingga but he has participated in dramatic as well :D Vincenzo: he has mostly worked with bvndit in almost all their songs lol Lee Ju-Seob: same as Vincenzo :D I hope this isnt too long lmao, wanted to give some credit to these producers

Bvndit is so underrated, and now that Dreamcatcher has their first win, Bvndit is now my top Kpop group that I hope gets their first win. Fighting!!!! So! I feel like “Venom” may be the song they need to guarantee an earlier comeback. I did think “Jungle” would get them a bigger audience, but the timing was unfortunate; summer of Covid’s first year. Love that you enjoyed “Cool” so much!! Dope track. The last minute of the video shows their goofy nature. Their dynamic/personalities are like TWICE with hints of MAMAMOO. 💜 their early pre-debut videos on their channel. “Hocus Pocus” did not receive the attention it deserved. But EVERYONE was releasing tropical-themed tracks then. Also doesn’t help that their label kinda slacks in the video editing dept. (Well, ‘til Venom.) I’ve written enough 🙃 so I’ll just say that the choreo for “Dumb” makes the chorus hit so much harder. Maaaybe you can react to the dance practice? 😘
I remember listening to dumb when it came out and i enjoyed it. But then it played on Spotify a few times and i was like "omg this song is phenomenal". Definitely something that i had to listen to randomly to fully fall in love with.
I completely agree with you about Venom! It's still a GREAT song but it reminds me a lot of ITZY, Loona's So What/Why Not, Kep1er's Wa Da Da etc. BVNDIT have such a distinct sound in previous title tracks (tropical, Latin, Middle Eastern flairs) which it's sad to see was lost for the title! But they're still outstanding for sure

The thing with reacting in reverse order this time is that when you reacted to Venom you couldn’t see it was meant to be a change of sound compared to before where they always had those synthy colorful chorus, and that make the song more interesting in my opinion! Regardless I’m so happy you reacted to them they deserve more recognition since they can barely make 1M views right now…

I like Venom but it feels like their company gave up on the signature sound they were creating :/ Cool is really underrated, when it came out i remember all the comments focusing on how "weird" the mv is (i don't think it's weird at all but i've also seen that editing style before), and it was a project single so it didn't get a lot of attention to begin with. Their first 3 tracks are still my favorites from them.
I really like this group. I really liked Venom, but Dumb is definitely still my fav. They are such a good group and I hate that MNH has sucked at promoting them. They made us wait 2 years for a comeback. Hopefully, they gain some new fans with Venom. They are such a well rounded vocal group. I can see why some may not like Venom cause yes, it's a bit more generic and more rap based.

Jungwoo is one of my favorite vocalists in the 4th gen she’s the groups main vocalist (the one hitting all the high notes)
There's videos of her doing opera and even an audition for a musical showing her technique. Her voice is AMAZING

I felt like venom wasn't vocally driven enough for the amazing vocals these girls have. It seemed a lot more rap driven.
