- Destiny has many enemies with fearsome histories. Few are more fearsome than the House of Devils, the main enemy in the new Rise of Iron expansion.

The Fallen House of Devils is the enemy that has assaulted the city the most. We fought them at the battle of the six fronts and the battle of the Twilight Gap. They've attempted mamy times to conquer Rasputin. Now they've invaded the plaguelands and are looking to use tge SIVA to take their revenge!

Gotta love the House of Kings, they seem to have been the strongest and smartest aside from when the Wolves were at peak, but the strongest overall.
Im hoping they have more brains then the other House's and join forces with us Guardians.
The Fallen houses existed before the Collapse, they were just unified until that point. House Exile had been exiled from the Eliksni council by House Judgement which was a collection of Eliksni from the other houses with a specific goal to Jugde the actions of other Eliksni. Variks wants to reform House Judgement but that requires the other houses to cooperate. Skolas could have done that but Variks wishes for a peaceful way in which the City and the Eliksni can work together which is why he was abainst Skolas.
The Eliksni have the best lore in destiny IMO. Although the Hive and their Sword Logic is a close second. We din't know enough about the Vex and the Cabal to judge just yet.
Eliksni council? That's the first I've heard of such a thing. The Fallen haven't been united since the Whirlwind, the Wolves attacked Kings, Winter defeated Scar, so on and so forth. Infighting has been a part of Fallen culture for a very long time... almost like the Skaven.

House Exile was not founded until elixni arrival to the Solar Sistem. Sure there always were outcasted and exiles, but nether gathered until recent times. Its an extremely new and young house

I just want allied Fallen. Kings or not we have a mutual enemy and eventually I hope that more characters come to realize this.
How about Variks and the House of Judgement?
Squid King The house of judgement is kinda strange. It's been a house of scattered observers for years. If anything I'd think it would be the House of Stone that might be revived. It is a house of the Eliksni, from before their fall. It represents their old ways, more than any of the houses we know of now could ever.
Agreed that Variks is a tad creepy right now, but actually there is more of house Judgement around, every house has at least one member. I think they're kinda historians.
This all hits so differently now with the all the change in the years gotta love the lore

The Kings are easily the most intriguing and threatening immediate threat. We have ultimately no idea what their power is, how far their command stretches, and how many serve them. We've seen no moves from them, only minor moves in response to others, such as negotiations with the house of Wolves. And the saddest part of this is that was the most damage we have done to their command structure to date. We killed their negotiators. Whatever else is coming, we don't know. We can only wait.

Agreed! I think the house of kings should have been the threat in this expansion. It would explain a lot. We haven't seen them to much in the story so far because they have been working on this.
The fact that the only major action they've ever participated in was Twilight Gap says a lot about their power.
It'd be nice to come to a truce with them.

If you patrol the moon sometimes a ketch and some skiff will appear and drop a walker and the walker is from the house of exile, so I think that they are not so weak
really love the series byf. it's really hard for me to understand the grimoire, so you translating it really adds depth to the game.
Actually we met the Fallen before the Collapse. During one of the Rasputin Missions, you can scan the window to the room where you fight the Fallen SABER and your ghost will say something to the likes of, "This was a laboratory where Golden Age scientists investigated Fallen Technology.
Now I understand the description of the "Doom of Chelchis"- "where is the great machine!? Where is the great machine!? -Chelchis, Kell of stone.

It makes literally zero sense to me that the Fallen are still our enemy. We both seek protection by the Traveler, are simply trying to survive the aftermath of an apocalyptic event that nearly wiped out our species, and fear the return of the Darkness. The Fallen Houses united under House Judgement and the Last City would be a serious force to be reckoned with. The conflict between the Fallen and humanity essentially boils down to two small children who don't want to share a toy...

House Kings is definitely just biding its time, waiting for us to take out its competition before rising up and challenging us in some way. I doubt that they'll factor into Destiny 2 next fall, because they aren't quite a big enough threat to take the focus of the entirety of Vanilla Destiny 2 (at least as far as we know at this point), but I have a theory about next spring.
If we do get another big content drop before Destiny 2, I think it will come in April again. If that is the case, the question is what form will it take. If it's another April Update-sized content drop, I would hazard a guess that House Kings is a strong contender for the focus of it. If it's a Dark Below-style DLC with a Raid (unlikely, I know), I doubt they'd go with the Fallen again. Maybe Kings will be involved in some kind of plot to ally with the Cabal in Destiny 2, who knows.
The question of what Bungie will do with House Kings is definitely intriguing. They'll always be in Bungie's back pocket, ready for use wherever it makes narrative sense.

did anyone forget the house of exile? I realize that they are mostly dregs, but grimoire cards say that dregs are some dangerous dudes, so there is no other house that has a greater cause to have aggression and they could cause trouble for the house of kings cuz you did make a good point
Bungie better give us a hell of an amazing plot twist about the traveler
A part of me now wonders if perhaps, a Fallen alliance eventually happens (Varriks is proof that Fallen can work with the creatures of the Sol system, and it sounds like he himself has designs to artificially upgrade himself to Kell status and force Houses into an Sol-based alliance and peace, which would both be awesome and really smooth the transition over), it may be from the Kings themselves.
Sure, they're the one House we've seen the least of, and they have pretty much all of their major strength and leadership intact. But that implies that they're careful, that they're smarter than the other Houses who just throw themselves at the Guardians and at salvaged tech in the hopes that they'll beat one or get a good advantage out of the other. The only time we ever even truly see the Kings in story mode is when they send three low-ranking Barons to talk with Skolas about the possibility of an alliance in House of Wolves.
Now, if the Kings are the most cautious and most pragmatic, and the Devils' efforts with CIVA fall through, what do you think the Kings are going to figure is the best course of action? Risk pissing off the group of beings who have so far kicked their species' asses every time, every way, no matter what edge they try to give themselves (remember, by this point, we'll have beaten them when they've been rocking Vex Time Tech and CIVA enhancements/infestation)? There's no way they'd think that would be a good idea.
What WOULD be a smart move to ensure their continued survival is to see if they can't manage to ally with the guys who have yet to be beaten, ever. The Kings are the House that the City has the least, if any, grievances with, and the one House they'd probably be at least somewhat willing to hear out if they came asking for peace talks.

I love this lore series. This was a fun episode to watch, and imo, the most exciting because it involves why RoI takes place when it does. ^_^

I have a theory,that I hope you read Byf,that Felwinter is alive and might be the mind the controls The SIVA.Weapons gear and artifacts do point to him betraying the Iron Lords.Siva is called Irons Bane and what could be more deadly to an Iron Lord than one of their own turned to the dark.

Since the House of Kings probably isn't so fueled by revenge and they haven't really played many of their cards, they could be considering a negotiation with the city. It's unlikely but it could be something to think about.

Six titan orders, including Stone pillars, firebreak, First Pillars, Sunbreakers, and two other (I don't know their names but you mentioned both in your video.
Hive, Fallen, Cabal, Vex, Taken...we have conquered them all. These Siva Fallen are just some other enemy they are only challenging the first three times you encounter them. Taken Vandals? Just run in the bubble with a shotgun or wait for the bubble to fade away.
my good friend chimplover290 is quite excited for you to hear his voice, i can vouch for him, his voice is one of the most unique things i have heard, he sounds like a great narrator, plus his knowledge of the lore is fairly impressive. he got a real smooth voice with very proper english....i introduce him to all my online friends and they love him...just figured i'd help him out a bit :P
Why does noone ever question the House of Exile? They are feuled by the neglect of the brothers. They want to proove themselves good enough to come back. We killed a baron. Not a kell. They havent played a single card and we have no idea what their capable of.
you are perfectly right. No one knows for sure if the house of exile are just a bunch of ragged fallen who were exiled by their brother or if they actually have a structure. For all we know they could have a Kell and a prime servitor in hiding which just haven't been revealed yet. Hope is we learn more in destiny 2
My guess, The Kings knew and was in possession of SIVA all along and just gave the Devils SIVA to combat the guardians. The Kings probably are possession of many more weapons that are just as or stronger than SIVA

I guess it would be awesome if there were new classes in another Destiny expansion like Fallen, Cabal, Hive or Vex.
And then some subclasses like Hobgoblin with flameshield or dreg with invisibility and a small arcblade and these fallen grenades or Thralls with increased running speed and some other unique abilities for each class and subclass with fit to the whole enemy theme.
A crucible gamemode where u could play these would be insane

Fun fact, the Kings have a den on Venus. There banners can be found at the end in the Archon Priest strike.
I've heard that's because Aksor was a Kings archon, and house Winter needed an archon (and probably didn't want to piss off house Kings), so they dressed the place up to welcome Aksor and ask him to lead them.

What about the House of Exile? They may or may not be a true house, but they are organized in the same way as other houses and surely could also prove a threat to the City. Just a thought

A Fallen house that gives up on faith in a divine being and turns to a resource that gives them "god - like" power.
Not to mention they are using one of the Prime Servitors as what looks like a door, not attempt to give it new life.

The new Hunter figurine just released on the Bungie store is shown holding Ice Breaker. What do you think the odds are that Ice Breaker is going to be released with Rise of Iron too? This looks like a good omen!

I think that since the other houses have been weakened to such an extent at this point the house of kings will probably just absorb the other houses into theirs.

I think that the story that we get from the new dlc will give us a more in depth look not only at Rasputin but cade 6 as well due to the hinted history he has with the war mind and in the devils are caking in to that war mind if might trigger some king of flash back with cade as well

The problem with Destiny is... Us the Fans, and you Byf, we love the lore. Those pathetic snippets of grimoire lore we accumulate. Bungie must have put a lot of effort into Story and Lore, to place it in all those written texts for us to find. But why do it that way? Why not have a more verbal and physical narrative, in game? I worry that we think too far ahead. And while we spend the time pondering and trying to figure out the future stories, Bungie is more worried about nerfing over powered guns and making sure not reveal too much info about Rise of Iron in their periodic live streams. If we do not see a substantial improvement to story by now, Destinies 3rd year of content, then we are fallowing a pipe dream which may never come to fruition.
After this threat the whole entire cabal will be coming for us

what if after we defeat the fallen even as they are machine gods, (likely after defeating the house of kings aswell) we do have a talk with them or more that lord Saladin does. in this he says to the current leaders that remain as well as the other fallen soldiers that they do not need to be enemies but rather allies. what with all of them being resonated and having a golden opportunity to bask in the traveler's light again what reason would they not have. and so when Destiny 2 comes around you can play as a fallen guardian, but they would no longer be called the fallen, rather they shall be named the risen

you know the "Enemy, of my Enemy" quest on titan? its a quest aboout the fallen captain and his 2 vandals from house of kings playing cat and mouse (basically tricking us) and setting or stealing devices to produce more ether for there survival. and at the end of the quest line, you walk into the final room with the device in it and you can see the fallen captain and hive knight battling. there are 2 alternative endings. either you kill the fallen captain and then the hive attacks you and its just a regular boring ending or you kill the hive and let the fallen captain live and he pauses for a second, walks up a good distance to you and does some sort of fallen chatter and dissapears. so pretty sure it was a thanks for the guardian not killing him and letting the fallen captain live and knowing we went our of our way to not hit the fallen captain but to only kill the hive
The Fallen are on Mercury?
Ahh the good days when it all wasn't house of dusk and the fallen (which are my favorite enemy's ) had so much possibility in the story but there's not much you can do when the houses are almost all joined into one leaving variks mithrax and eremis (I'm not counting fikrul aka the fanatic because yes the scorn is reanimated fallen through tainted ether there not really fallen anymore)

How did you become a lore master? How can I become one? I mean, I am into the lore of Destiny aswell and I have been whatching your videos for quite some time, allways wondering how you learned all theese things. I know you are going to say "just read the grimoire " but I think there is much more to it then just reading the cards.
Trying to cobble the pieces of the puzzle together. See the connections, connect the dots, speculate a little, ask yourself difficult questions about it and read and talk about it to others.
