- Panda Bear & Sonic Boom perform at Le Guess Who? 2022, curated by Animal Collective, following the release of their latest album 'Reset'.
Setlist:
00:00 Everyday
06:08 Edge of the Edge
12:16 Danger
19:08 Livin’ in the After
About:
Six years ago, Peter Kember, or Sonic Boom, traded his England home for Portugal. Partly, his move was to be closer to Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, with whom the Spacemen 3 founder had forged a friendship built on mutual admiration nearly a decade prior. After working together on Panda Bear and Animal Collective releases alike, the pair have come out with their first outright collaboration, this year’s ‘Reset’. On it, both creatives pour over their fondness of sixties pop in a sample-based, sunshine-filled record. As we all emerge from a cloud of darkness, it is a much-needed sonic balm of psych-pop happiness.

Magic, one of the best albums of last year
This project sounds like if instead of calling time on Spacemen 3 when he and Jason fell out, Sonic Boom replaced him with Brian Wilson.
Yep def agree with you. Finally someone who can sing …. (Noah)
This version of Danger is my favorite. Reminds me of a tumultuous moment in my life. I cri
Noah getting super grungy on Edge of the Edge
I saw them last night at Off! Festival in Poland. Sonically and visually fantastic.
These guys were my bessie mates favourite, sadly he's broke on thru to the other side..cheers Pete. 😊x
People are sleeping on everyday but it is a person pitch level song
i've been wide awake with that song since release.. heaven on earth
Saw these dudes two nights ago in Boston alongside Braxe + Falcon - a lineup for the ages. Cheers from New England
That's a great lineup. Did they play Step by Step?
@@sawyerstudio : Yes, but unlike the gig at the 9:30 in DC, Panda didn't come on and sing live for that. Honestly, Braxe + Falcon kinda upstaged Panda + Sonic, but that's because the whole place popped off when Doin' It Right came off the decks - plus those guys are just absolutely fucking based, I spent a little time with both of them after their set, trying to teach them how to speak English in a Boston accent.
Big gas 🔥🔥🔥
So magical ✨💫
ethereal
SO BEAUTIFUL 💎
Increíble, su música es hermosa 💜💚❤🌌
Thanks you le guess who for this ❤
Dad
lol crediting both panda and boom with “keys”
Incredible
The Tropic of Cancer lyrics at the end of Danger...because why not Kember helped produce it :D
so sad that part “it’s all in the family” esp after him getting divorced
@@sevensamuraiswordsPeter divorced ?
I raise ma half full glass to class 😎
Panda Bearrrrrr!!!!!
Sonic's voice reminds me of Calvin Johnson from Beat Happening but not as deep
anyone know what gear they're using? thx
Edit: specific gear
Loop boxes, efect pedals, mics maybe a little synth
Look at Danger - I see two Teenage Engineering OP-1's and a Moog filter/Delay pedal on Sonics table
@@mrpbody44 thx. I see it now. I know AC has been using OP1s since Painting With. I imagine Panda's got one too. Cheers!
Panda playing the song stems off an Octatrack
They need a third party
Had the chance to see him again in seattle but his show was such a let down when I got to see him.
Why ?
@@jesusitox12 his singing is very hard to get used to. It’s totally off key & it’s kinda cringey tbh. I love him but the singing weirdly got’s to go.
its cool to see your point of view on this music, i just saw them live last saturday and it was awesome, noah's voice really changed over the years and its still beatiful on its own way at least for me, but yeah its kinda obvious he's not hitting the sames notes as when he was a teenager. and i do get the "cringey" singing but i really like it lol like i do that also when singing so its just like a relief in some kinda way that someone as good as him does that same thing

I think his time is over maybe because of the too much influence of Panda Bear?? Remember the album "Sonic Boom - Spectrum"!!!
I wish he would pick up on that.
again! What he know is doing is too much happiness for me...
a pity....
cheers,
Gregxx...🦇
