  • Following the performance on June 9th, the cast of Broadway's ECLIPSED was joined onstage by Peace Activist Leymah Gbowee, who took part in our series of dedications at ECLIPSED to the abducted and still missing 219 schoolgirls of Chibok, Northern Nigeria, and abducted girls all around the world.
Our hero, Nobel Peace Prize winner Leymah Gbowee, is responsible for leading Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace, the movement that helped bring an end to the Second Liberian Civil War in 2003.
The dedication initiative entitled #KNOWHERNAME gave voice to the name of two girls: Grace Paul and Margaret Shitima, who have been missing for 787 days at Thursday's performance.
ECLIPSED dedicates all future performances by speaking the names of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls in Northern Nigeria, and remembering all abducted girls around the world. #BRINGBACKOURGIRLS #KNOWHERNAME
ECLIPSED is the story of five extraordinary women brought together by upheaval in their homeland of Liberia. They forge a close-knit community... one that inspires them to feats of increasingly greater strength. Directed by South African-born LIESL TOMMY (The Good Negro, Appropriate), ECLIPSED is a stirring tale of hope, humor and resilience-and the only new play by a woman on Broadway this season.
