I think 11:05 was the turning point in G1: Especially if you know that you still have stage in your hand (which was played ad 11:28) - why just tapping Urza's Saga for mana? This could have been a construct token. Instead, the Moxes were unused before passing the turn. Yes, Lily is a corner case in Grixis Delver - but there's also IMHO no reason to not make have an extra creature. This insurance would have helped against any kind of edict. Anyhow, it's always easier to comment than playing yourself. I'd still love to understand the reasoning behind the 11:05 play (tap for mana vs make contruct)
He simply didn’t have enough mana to make both Marit Lage and the Construct. Yes Moxes mana is unspent but you are forgetting that making the Construct effectively costs 3 mana (tapping Saga for a Construct is a mana you don’t have).
