You're the real deal. Most owner operators can't even change their oil or grease their trucks. I'm getting back in the end dump game down here in Florida. I don't know whether I'm crazy or stupid. Probably both. Good luck with the engines.
Gday Gerald You are about as OCD as me getting those mudflaps level 🤣😂🤣 Good to see you getting some time to start working on the old girl, looking forward to seeing your progress with the motor Take Care Mate
Are you able to make a video one day on all what you need to do to get started as a owner op? Like what fees you have to pay, Taxes, Expenses, etc? I can find some info on the internet but only very few gives detailed explanations. Love the vids!!
Hey driver ever think of building the extra into something wild ? Adept Ape , a CAT lead mechanic on hear lists how to build 3406 to a C 18 with all stock Cat parts ! Lol just a thought peace from Canada near the Niagara falls
Yes the original 1lw is going to get built eventually. It’s been sitting in the corner for a few years. It was pretty strong back in its day. Idk if I will put the c-18 packs in it or not. I do watch adept ape. He is a good resource for cat stuff. He is very informative and humble. I love his work
Thanks for sharing. At least your started on getting it up and running. That Cat hoe handled those engines better than my 580D. Is that a old 420 or 416? TGP
@@thedirtytrucker9633 get your broker to get me something that pays coming that way and we'll definitely mount up and roll north. I'm ready to come and hang out again.
You aint cool if your chrome don't shine and your mudd flaps aren't straight. They may be on the back of the truck but if there not straight and matching it makes the whole truck look bad plus i always thought that the driver didn't care much about his equipment
Howdy Gerald, I think that stuff you pulled off is meant to be a thermal break between the engine and the ECM , not sound deadening. Any way Good luck with them cats

There not REAL O/Op's
Man I get it. Trucking is a hard habit to break! Good luck to you!
Thxs 4 sharing Mr Gerald
Thanks for watching!
It will be some good content with the removal and reinstall engines on the pete thanks for sharing
Yeah I’m excited about the content coming up!
Safe 😊Travels out there Mr Gerald

That’s a great idea. I can surely put that in the mix of videos! Thank you
it would be neat to paint motor white like old school
That would be cool im not gonna lie.
I’ve definitely wanted to paint it paccar white for sure. Still on the fence but not off the table!
Gr8 FOOTAGE Mr Gerald & Nice overview of the CAT🫡😎🫱🏻🫲🏾📢📢📢📢📢🇺🇸🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🎥📹📽📸👍🏾

That one is a 420. Definitely an old machine with lots of stories to tell😂
Man I've been trying to find something coming up that way to give you a hand and hang out but everything is slow.
Man I’m ready to have you around for a day. Even if it is just to BS

What's the weight of one of those kitty cats???
I’m guessing 3500lbs. I really don’t know for sure
What do you use to remove grease and grime?
A company call “big mule” makes a degreaser called “kick it” I was out in this video or these engines would have been way cleaner
Doing the maintenance thing always sucks. 30 minute job always turns into one hour thing. Hope you build your engine into a horse.
Yes! On Saturdays it always takes longer or the part store is closed😂

I like them to be close too!
What are the specs of the two engines?
One is a 1lw 475 horse and that one is going in the truck and the other is a 5ek 475 horse. Both are 3406e’s

Thanks for the info. I always heard it was to keep the noise down. Either way it dry rots and breaks off 😂
