Great breakdown of both phones, and especially nice to see you use full screen apps and watch a full screen video to bring out the visual differences between the two. The 23 ultra definitely looks like an upgrade, but it's still impressive on Samsung that even a 6 year old flagship isn't that far behind the most modern Samsung on the market!
Except for the camera performance upgrade, I guess Note 8 wins the test of time. I am really surprised that a six year old flagship would work just as fine.
I'm not surprised. What I am surprised is that back in the day they didn't intentionally cripple them. They gave us some good stuff right out of the gate.
I just retired mine. Obviously newer is going to have better camera and be faster overall but the note 8 was hard to beat. I had screen burn in after about 5 years.
I just returned my ULTRA 23 & went back to my Note 8. Dude the Galaxy 22 & 23 ULTRA have Audio/Video Sync issues. I paid $1,300 for a lagging Audio/Video where my 2017 phone was better? You Got me ALL THE WAY F'D UP BYE GALAXY 23 ULTRA ON 4-21-23...✌️
I returned my S23 ultra as well! And went back to my note 9 I was using before! Only thing I really liked was the camera and battery life, but as long as the camera works and the battery lasts me through the day, im all good! I also don't like phone payments!

T-Mobile said Mr. Young Asurion has Countless Note 8's because it was that Solid of a phone. If you want new tech we are going to WARRANTY your Note 8 because you have an obvious SIM Issue that we can't fix in store. RobbiePayne the "WARRANTY" people "DON'T" have Note 8's they have the Note 20 Ultra. Mine is coming in today or tomorrow for $5 BUCKS!! Screw that Galaxy 22, Galaxy 22 Ultra, Galaxy 23, & the Galaxy 23 Ultra for over $1,100 where Samsung has known since 2022 about the BlueTooth Audio/Video Lag and done Nothing. I will have this Note 20 for 20 years if I had the Note 8 since 2017. Do a Warranty Upgrade Robbie. I will not support spending my money with companies that over charge & under deliver. Signed... @@andrewlineberger7544I have iPhone 13 Pro Max and I’m selling it & thinking about s23 ultra at first, but now I’m looking towards buying another Galaxy Note 8 again or upgrading to the 9(from the 8). I don’t think I’ll regret it at all whatsoever because it still has good lock which you can make it any way you want and has pretty much the same kind of stuff as the newest software. But you can tweak it to make it look similar to the latest version. My 13 pro max battery isn’t as great because it has a thermal issue and my device is defective.
I use the note 9 and recently upgraded to the S23 ultra and returned it, not much a difference to me and I cannot give my note 9 up!! SD card slot and headphone jack...and it still lasts me through the day battery life wise, tho the battery life on the s23 ultra did blow me away

I used my note 8 until this year, i only replaced the battery but it was the money worth. Now im on the S23 ultra. I hope this one last also 4+ year.. great vod.
i regret buying s23, it looked fancy in the store, but i still use note8 daily. eventually will have to move into s23, but almost everything about note8 is better. especially the screen color - the s23 screen is very bad. note8 screen is capable of true white color, while s23 is not.
Just got myself an S23 Ultra too after using a note 8 for 6 years.my note 8 was fine but it didn't want to work with the watch 6 classic so... Just a question, coming from the note 8,the display of the note 8 seems more vibrant

Id still go for the note 8 even in 2023. Its just the battery that sucks. At only 3300 mah it will probably die out before the end of the day.
I honestly got used to the battery. You. An easily get half a day. But it is nothing compared to the new 5000+ devices.

I had a 20 ultra and never got the blurry camera issue fixed.. went back to the note 8...mite get a 9

make battery test video too till 50% and camera test. Camera quality is the main concern these days.
