How are you doing?
#2 tip is SO TRUE. Putting things in the cabinets and drawers is imperative for a clean look, especially if your small appliances don't match.
The white looks nice.
I also think a good tip is to: get rid of all the cereal boxes and snacks that sit on top of the fridge. There should be room in the cabinets for those things, or in the pantry. It rids of so much unnecessary, visual clutter.
I put stuff in containers too! It helps me see when we are low on stuff. People always comment why put stuff in containers when it’s already in one lol 😂. In a small space, being organized is a must! I don’t do that for things that expire fast. I just wait until it’s almost gone and then refill. I built a 8 foot pullout pantry and I store can goods in that. I always load new cans from the back pushing old to the front. I’ve got so many hidden storage spots in my small home even my mom was surprised. I went crazy with pullout shelves and cabinets.

My favourite is the door painting what is the name of the paint colour and brand
I have a burnt orange leather sectional and I thought about putting a blue velvet accent chair as a pop of color. Everyone vetoed the idea! I will show them this video!!!!!

Bringing in different shapes makes so much sense. I have a square dining table, rectangular coffee table and rectangular console. A round shape of some kind will help! Thanks for the tip!!
Girl after my own. I have all of Drew's beautiful appliances, I picked up one and got hooked. I purchased all of them in the white as well. It is a universal color and blends with all. I am in love with them.

Well that was excellent I'm glad that somebody spelled that out for me. It's nice to have direction. Sometimes you're haphazardly getting it right but then when you get it right you're not really sure why it's right. 😆😌

Some ideas I’ve thought about before but forget about. I have to have an electrician come back with a dimmer/wall control for the dining room fan so now I’ll be thinking about dimmers elsewhere such as in the living room for the wall sconces on either side of the fireplace (I’ll be changing those too), the ceiling fan/light (looking for a new one) and the porch light (all on the same triple wall switch. They have these new remote wall switched which are very modern looking and easy to use that I had put on the basement and attic stairs. So many new ways of doing things ! I’m 65 and you can teach an old dog new tricks! I like the idea of painting a few carefully selected interior doors to paint too. Thanks for the tips. Ya got me thinking again…….

Great design tips! Love the painting doors idea! I think people may have avoided that in the past feeling like it cuts up the flow with too much choppiness? I think it’s a great idea for lighter walls that give contrast and added element to a room. Love it!

I love the different textures! I bought a round wicker coffee table in my living room and I think it brought in a different texture! Buy the way,I learned it from you!
Love the hint on varying shapes! And one I’d add is to change wall switches from toggles to rockers/new switch plates-it’s not hard, watch some videos. And don’t paint over them with wall paint!
Just changing them out when they need changing can go a long way-My in-laws recently got all new flooring and paint...same faded-out/stained reciprocals, switches, and plates-'Could not get them to spend the couple-hundred extra...😖

I totally agree about the countertops having functional pretty appliances on top, we don't all have a lot of storage space so we need to keep the coffee maker, and toaster oven on the counters. However, I just can't get used to layering rugs, it just looks off to me for some reason.
I just purchased the Beautiful Coffee Pot in white and gold a few weeks back and I am loving it, I'll have to check out the other appliances too. Thanks for the tips.

I'm not a fan of double rugs or rugs on carpet. Must be I'm "old fashioned". However, whatever you put together always looks fabulous!
Agreed the doubled up rugs do not look expensive to me at all 😅. Or rugs on top of carpets.
Smart lighting options through Philips smart bulbs can transform a room's mood. Link it with Alexa and presto! "Alexa, dining room soft white", and if its too bright "Alexa, dining room, 30%". If you have the option to use these bulbs in your fixture then these are a great alternative over installing dimmers. :)

I'm going to sell my stainless Smeg kettle and stainless steel Breville toaster now which has been wrapped up in my cupboard that I never use. I wanted a white kettle and found one, but it's not as nice as the one you just showed. I'll be letting that one go too! So thank you!!! 💐😊
I love the idea of painting your doors. Do you suggest just painting one side of the door? Several of the doors in my hallway stay open so I don't know if it would look okay just painting one side. I can't really paint on both sides because the colors in each of my rooms are different, so what will go with one room might not go with the others.
