  • No doubt the worse MRE so far. Egg & Cheese and Veggies Omelette. Other items include Jam, Crackers, Spiced Apple Drink, Red Hots Candies, and Apple Strudel Pastry. See which items are edible.....

    The best description I've ever heard for how the "vomlette" looks coming of the bag is that is resembles shiny spray foam insulation. Hope you and Asa are having a great day! Great video.

    If you want to heat multiple things, put one in the heater bag like you did. Put the other on the outside of the bag, sandwiching the heating pad. Cram the whole thing in one of those empty boxes. That's how I used to do it. Of course all the heat in the world won't help the vomlette....but you might be able to better heat your other meals.

      Yes. The original 'bouncing Betty' was originally designed to bounce across the water like a surface torpedo and slam into a dam, causing a breach and subsequent flood. Interesting to google that and see what comes up. TFW!

      Wiki says....
      "The German S-mine (Schrapnellmine, Springmine or Splittermine in German), also known as the "Bouncing Betty" on the Western Front and "frog-mine" on the Eastern Front, is the best-known version of a class of mines known as bounding mines. When triggered, these mines are launched into the air and then detonated at about 1 meter (3 ft) from the ground. The explosion projects a lethal spray of shrapnel in all directions. The S-mine was an anti-personnel mine developed by Germany in the 1930s and used extensively by German forces during World War II. It was designed to be used in open areas against unshielded infantry. Two versions were produced, designated by the year of their first production: the SMi-35 and SMi-44."

    Bouncing Betty is a Nickname that originated In WW2 from a German mine that when set off would launch itself waist high and detonate, the Brit’s gave it another Nickname called the De-Bollocker. The thing you Showed is Known as a Cluster munition or a Cluster Bomblet in military terms, the bomblet is deployed by a Cluster Bomb which you showed in a Picture. My friend joined the Canadian Princess Patricia's (Paratroopers) in 1975, and they trained in the Georgia swamps for a while. He described the bouncing Betty as a sinister explosive, because it was meant to castrate a man and not really kill him right away. They did explode at waist height, about 3 feet up and shot out shrapnel for around a 60 foot diameter.

    Funny how you were explaining the bouncy bettys cause I had the same reaction as Ace for all Call of Duty fans out there there was a bouncy Betty in the game but it was round I mean they call things differently as well because in other versions they’re called proximity mines but really cool to know I didn’t not know of such thing which is really awesome thanks for the knowledge Me Ancient 💪🏽

      Martin, the real history and use of these 'anti personnel' weapons is really sobering. I understand, believe me, that the purpose of war is to break things and kill people, but the reality and experience is something altogether different when meditating on it. I appreciate your following along. TFW!

    It's sad that someone bought the mre. A Long time a go. And never ate it . What a waste of money. Be for 3 to 5 years. It should have been consumed. Good video. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.

    • @MeAncient
      @MeAncient  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jennifer....sometimes people buy them for food storage for 'just in case' scenarios. When they don't have to eat them, they are happy there were no scenarios in which it was necessary to eat them. Think of buying term life insurance....you have it hoping you never have to use it but it's there if you 'exit stage left' before you have things ready financially for your family if you were to die. You don't plan on any lasting value, just value if you must use it. Hope that makes sense. TFW, as always!
