    Great video explaining ic, as, rc, I find it pretty cool that you guys are referencing from Max’s book 😎

    Your attention to the details that matter are second to none sir.

    Oh yeah!!! I forgot how much I have been looking forward to this! I read chassis engineering but without a conversation and real life example it is a bit hard to process. Thank you. I am going to watch this a couple of times!

      Yes that book is great but written from an engineering perspective.

    Awesome video and very informative Jesse, thank you! That music makes me want a margarita too :D

    Awesome information and great timing for me too.
    I’m going 4 link on my OBS and was going to install my panhard bar above the axle because of the swaybar setup I did, not thinking about the roll center. I’ll cut off and weld my swaybar mounts differently so I can lower the panhard bar.
    I imagine my swaybar helps cheating the roll center a bit, but I won’t take any chances.

    • @level7motorsports
      @level7motorsports  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s cool. This is why I want to do these videos. So having the roll center too high, the rear sway bar would actually make it worse. If you ever do some autocrossing, play with disconnecting the rear bar. Most of us prefer it disconnected when autocrossing.

      @@level7motorsports makes sense ! I will try the local autocross once i'm done with it. So yeah I'll make sure I have adjustability and will play to find out what works best for my truck. Next on my list are better brakes and ditching the 4L65E for a manual.
      Thanks for what you do for the community !

    Great video. Love that the factory leaf spring mounts were utilized in the 3 link. I often wondered why kits don’t implement these.
    Also, what would be the deficits in a triangulated 4 link when it comes to handling? Thanks

    • @level7motorsports
      @level7motorsports  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It’s because they are a little high up. They only work well for us since this truck will be so low. If you weren’t going to be so low, you would have to move it down and design around that new lower bar height.
      The biggest issue with a triangulated 4 link is that it doesn’t move very freely. It will want to bind up. We have done a couple on cars where we only had so much room and I just didn’t like how they act.

      @@level7motorsports Thanks, My 94 is currently a 4/6 drop and I could live with a 5/7 static on a daily driver. Curious how low Rei is going to be? Also curious on the decoupled 3rd link part used.

    What is the advantage of doing the 3 link compared to the 4 link? Space and material? Better articulation?

    • @level7motorsports
      @level7motorsports  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Its main advantage is its ability to articulate. Then the simplicity of adjustment.

    Pretty cool. It's a little hard to follow when you speed up the video as much as you do. I'd prefer the video slow down a notch and not make it quite so hard to watch, visually.

      Sorry about that. We are still learning how to do all of this video stuff. It’s a big learning curve. We do have new camera and microphones for the new videos.

      @richardpugh3434 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree. Love the stuff you do so don’t speed it up or chop edit it. Just let it roll. So it makes it a little longer. Just more to watch. 😁 Thanks for schooling us. 👍
