    Man I'll be completely honest with you. I have never heard your solos sound like they were played more confidently.

    I have Tremonti custom SE and standard 22 SE, both with tremolo bridges. Dropped seymour duncans in, grover mini rotomatics, bone nuts, brass blocks and stainless steel saddles in. They come solid built from factory indeed, quality mod platforms. Pickups were ok but lacking character imho.

    I think PRS did a very smart thing, sending you this guitar. I know that when I'm looking at guitars or any gear for that matter, I get the most out of the video if the presenter can play or operate the item with pro level skill. Then you get to see what the gear can do, if it's done right. I get so many ideas, when I watch you play. Rock on brother. :)

    Nice playing as always, Jarrod, I love that solo! You played that PRS like you’ve owned it for a long time and made it sound like something way more than $499 or whatever it goes for.
    I have a couple of PRS guitars in my collection, a Custom 24 and a Dustie Waring CE24, both which have Floyd Roses and locking nuts on them as well as locking tuners for easy stringing. I haven’t played them in a while but they’re nice guitars.

    I have this guitar and I would 100% recommend replacing the nut with a PRS Core nut, before replacing the tuners. I also had tuning stability issues when using the trem, or even doing full bends. What is happening is that the strings bind at the nut, so they cannot return to the tuned position. The tuning issues were much worse when I put 11 - 48's on the guitar, because the thicker gauge strings bound even more. You *can* file down the factory nut, but on close examination (especially directly compared to the PRS Core nut) that it's not very well cut, or sanded down, and are made of a lower quality material. So I would recommend just replacing the whole thing. No issues since doing that, and now I am using 11 - 54's on it (drop tuning).

    • @fuckyouallanddiehorribly
      @fuckyouallanddiehorribly 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On mine I replaced the stock nut with a prs se core for $7 since it came too high and they didn't file any break angle in nut(high e and b strings sounded like a sitar when played open. I was just gonna file down the stock nut since it is graphite but it's much softer and I went too deep on most of the slots. New nut is much harder, felt like bone when I was filing.
      Then I swapped the trem block to a cheap brass block, put gotoh steel saddles on, and good pickups. Got the locking tuners coming. I also sprung for overpriced creme pickup rings/switch tip. Now it has very low action and effortless pinch harmonics.

    I just got mine in that colour as well. It’s really a nice guitar. No fret sprout. Nice out of the box action. Very playable out of the box. Glad I got it. The neck is definitely a winner. Satin neck makes it a lot better for moving around when playing faster runs.. light weight makes it easier on your back and shoulders when giging Cheers Dallas .

    Something else, about the pickups -- they are HOT and I also find them bright. I do the exact same thing, roll back the treble on the amp and push the bass and mids a bit.
    Note: The guitar comes with the 85/15 “S” pickups, which are the the same pickups on the doubly more expensive PRS SE Custom 24.

    With a compound radius you get the best of both worlds. Like a 12 to 18" or similar. The schecter km7 or km6 MKIII's have a perfect neck setup. Have you tried those out? I bought the KM7 MKIII about 5 yrs ago and loved it so much i got the KM6. I think those guitars were the best bang for your buck production guitars to come out in many years. I think theyre actually worth more than the 1800/1900$ they cost. They out perform other guitars much more expensive. The only problem with schecter is qc issues. Fit and finish can be hit or miss, so i was very picky when choosing my two, and ended up with two perfect guitars in every way. Would love to see you review one

    Recently picked up a 400$ 2007 PRS SE Tremonti (hard tail) on a whim after sitting down with it in the store I was at. I could instantly tell someone really took care of that guitar. It had custome Seymour duncans (upgraded from factory) Grover locking tuners and a Bone Nut. I did end up returning it as was not a fan of a few other little things but these are great guitars and PRS puts attention into alot of their line which showed to me.

    Great vid, as always. I know you love PRS amps, who wouldn't? To my knowledge, this is your first time at bat playing PRS guitars, at least first time having them on your channel. PRS is really the only company that puts out worth while and consistent guitars at any price point. Most companies that put out budget friendly guitars, don't have the quality that PRS has at any price point. It'd be very interesting to see you play a PRS SVN or Marc Holcomb 7 string model, as I know 7strings guitars are more your focus.

    As a majesty owner myself. And a recent owner of the SE CE. I would record with the prs any day. Of course. It has a dif pickup config than a lot of modern metal guitars. But that’s an easy fix per your choice. Bottom line. These new lines have straight necks. Great fret ends. No uneven frets (on mine ). And no poly lacquer to choke the wood. Other manufactures hiking their prices should be ashamed.

    Hey Jared. If you still are in contact with PRS, tell them that I think in order for the SE series to look more like their CORE models, the pickup rings should be white with gold screws, regardless of what finish the body has. It’s that extra touch and simple change and will make the guitar appear $1000 more IMO. Regardless of brand black pickup rings with black pickups and all grey screws looks so sub $200 quality IMO. I’m strictly talking about aesthetics and not playability of course. If a guitar feels great regardless of price then play it. Just wanted to share my thoughts on appearance for SE guitars. Seriously look at a Core guitar and then the SE. White pickup rings and gold screws makes a huge impact IMO. Best 🤘

      Buy a JB or a Dimarzio Super Distortion. Exact same pickups. Same magnets, Same wire gauge, Same wind, same build. During the "HFS" or Hot Fat and Screams era of PRS, Dimarzio and Seymour Duncan were winding pickups for PRS. The HFS is just a Super Distortion with a different plastic bobbin. The reason PRS does not offer them anymore is because there are literally thousands of alternate options out there. I have 9 sets of HFS pickups. O sets are in guitars. TIm from TNTOnes makes much better pickups with better dynamics.

    I always dug PRS before owning a few, but I assumed they were merely light rock and jazz guitars...that was until I heard Marc Rizzo from Soulfly and Il Nino ripping death metal and thrash on SE models. I since sold my PRSs since I kind of outgrew them. My only negative opinion on the brand is that PRS guitars have a sort of vanilla sound. Nothing really unique where you hear one and say..."that's a PRS!"
