Good review. I bought the Q45 to replace a Q30 for using on the gym treadmill. For the gym I don’t want to risk my XM4. Q45 definitely has better ANC than the Q30. The Q45 however isn’t nearly as comfortable as the Q30 for glasses wearers. The Q45 headband is narrower than the Q30. If I can get the fit sorted out for the Q45 then I will be happy, but currently not there yet. 😢
yeah, the headband on the Q45 is thinner than the one on the Q35 as well. I wear Oakley glasses with straight and flexible temples and I've not had a comfort issue wearing either model. But I'm sure the individual experience can vary depending on your head geometry and style of glasses.
Great review! I like 'Piano' & "Acoustic' presets for overall listening. Also, If I use them with & phone & a cord, I'll buy a 4 pole cord. So, I can use the mic. Also, the Q 45s have LDAC.
4:50 just bought q45 few days ago and while listening to this list of genres which I don't really like I was quite surprised when all of a sudden jazz fusion came in, which is almost the only genre I m listening

She said that the Q35s do fit her slightly better than the Q45s, but not so much that it'd be a deal-breaker. Certain still a better fit for her than the XM4. I'd say the Q35 would prob still be a great option for you if fit and sound are your top priorities. And even though the Q35 ANC is not at Q45 or Sony levels, they are still quite capable in that department.

On March 9 2023 I finally took the plunge and got the BTR7 And WOW It's A Bluetooth LDAC Codec Beast But In Wired DAC Mode Is Where The BTR7 Really Shines . I Am Hard Pressed To Tell The Difference Over My Hidizs S9 Pro DAC AMP DONGLE And BTR7 When In Wired DAC Mode Of BTR7.

I have both, I overall like the q45 better. More options in the app, I can remove normal mode which I didn't like. The build quality feels more premium. The anc is better. I feel like I could have waited a few more years to upgrade though.
The main improvement is really with the ANC. If you're happy with the ANC on the Q35 (and honestly, it's pretty good as is), then I wouldn't rush out and buy the Q45. But if better ANC is super important to you, the Q45 might be worth a look.
The OP is right the only difference in hardware is the better ANC. However and this is something I’m still debating myself, the tune on the q45 is better. According to another reviewer they’ve done a really good job on smoothing out some of the insane bass on the q35s. And apparently the overall sound is slightly better - slightly. But with less bass. He said he couldn’t get the q45s to have the bass the 35s do no matter what he did to the tune
I never thought I'd say this but I'd now Prefer my Q35 over my XM3s ESPECIALLY WIRED AND POWERED OFF LISTENING WHICH BLOW EVEN LDAC BLUETOOTH OUT THE WATER
Tried them, and thought they were okay. Wanted them mostly to watch movies via bluetooth on my LG CX. The volume cranked all the way up was way to soft and did not work for me. Have the Penrose X mostly for gaming, but the those were just as good as the Q45 and were much louder on the TV. Another issue was my ear was touching the inside of the earcup. My ears are just normal size. Ended up returning them.

I find the comfort of the Q45 to be essentially the same fit (for me) as the XM4 - a slightly oval-shaped ear cup instead of a more rounded one as on the Q35.

The q45 does not have an ear detection sensor, unlike the q35. Also, the Q45 no longer has touch controls for switching noise reduction modes and there is no NFC, but the q35 model has it all.
Yes, those are some glaring drawbacks, especially for the price. I want to try out the Q45's but coming from the Q35, I know I'd miss those features immediately.
Hmmm probably going to depend on head-size...but my Q45's do slip just a tad bit - ie I can feel them slowly sliding...but ONLY if I don't have the top band adjusted for a precise fit.
I am not a sony fan BUT i can recognize quality. I have a lot and i mean a lot of headphones and earbuds. I have xm4 and the soundcore QC35. Just in terms of build quality, the qc35 are « sorry for soundcore fan » crap ! When i run with my qc35, i always hear them crack !! It’s really annoying ! But with my xm4… no crack sound :) In terms of sound quality the xm4 smokes the qc35… by a mile ! ANC of the sony is no match, maybe by Bose, but soundcore is way below sony in terms of anc. I made all test possible in terms of sound quality and ANC with my headphones and i can tell you that sony xm4 are way better! I just bought new Space45 and i hope that soundcore fix crack problems and hope they change the V shape sound (with vocals recessed). Soundcore is a fantastic and solid company but if i can suggest one thing for them: stop release 15 new headphones and earbuds each year and focus on a GOOD one that would smokes the competition :) I have never listen to this channel and i must admit that i am impressed !!! Honestly !!! Sir you do an awesome job :) I will listen to your videos in the future ! Thank you for your advice and your honesty :)

It might be slightly different right out-of-the-box. But I'm fairly certain any differences would be due to to a minor difference in the default EQ preset.

I just did a quick up and down the stairs jog and they seem pretty secure on my head, although personally, I'd opt for the earbud style ( th-cam.com/video/31ZFDlQWjNc/w-d-xo.html )for jogging since Over-the-ear headphones like these just feel a bit bulky when running...you might feel differently though. These are great for gaming, BUT if you use them with the included 3.5mm cable, it's audio only.

Sony fans are going to bite your head off ;) Personally, I have not tracked the Sony headphones so I can't speak with any other day, but I have had excellent experiences with most of my soundcore products. Lp3, Two neck bands, a couple speakers and q30. Always feel like I get my money's worth.

Q45s have a silk driver like the q35s, but they added a ceramic driver to the q45s...cheers...
