Mass Effect spoiled me to the idea of how awesome our galaxy could actually be. I'd fucking listen to any Asari matriarch talk for hours about her life.
Everytime her theme plays, I feel like I'm seeing and smelling burning incense :) So yeah, Middle Eastern-ish. And maybe a little bit of Buddhism, Zen.
Her music gave me that super, Indian(?) vibe, when I first heard t my thoughts turned to those flute players with the snakes in baskets The music captures the mysticism samara holds, in my opinion
I think it’s intended to suit the stage, rather than Samara herself. The sisterhood was meant to have a Middle-Eastern vibe to them, I suppose. I can’t really link the two, but it matches the Asari generally. I also think that Callista (the upper Afterlife track) has some slight ME influences in the background, and Afterlife’s ruler is Asari herself.
Actually, this track was composed by Jimmy Hinson, who also composed "A Rude Awakening", "The Normandy Reborn", "Grunt" and "Tali", so you know he's truly epic.
I'm glad that LE restore the music that is to be played when Samara finally corners Morinth back on her loyalty mission. That made the confrontation even more intense.
Just when I thought I couldn't love Samara's music any more than i already do. This is astonishingly well-put together, and I love love love how you bring it full circle at the end. I'll never listen to the ordinary OST track again!
Very nice Middle-Eastern and Persian sounds flowing throughout. Reminds of so well of Prince of Persia. ((Yes, I finally changed this foolish comment.))
If you really think about it, she does act kinda Prothean. There is netural solution for her, same as Javik. "Toss it out the air-lock commander." - Javik "If you do something evil I will kill you when our time together is over" - Samatha. IMO complete empire material.
I played Andromeda for the first time last year. I could tell that they fixed some of the most glaring bugs and animation flaws. Had they done so before the release date they would have got a lot less hate. I enjoyed playing it, even if it didnt have everything that we remebered about ME2 that made it so great.
Too bad we learn from Javik that the Goddess Athame was actually a group of Protheans who offered help to the asari at critical moments of their history lol
This is a nice blend, really more effective than the OST at conveying Samara's presence. But what happened at the end? It seemed cut off in mid-thought.
+P Sells A lot of the smaller pieces are designed to be played on loop. If you listen closely, there will be a point where it would loop back to, without you hearing it in game. They use it as cinematic music during conversations or when Shepard is just walking around.
It plays a few times where she shows up, even in 3 (if she survives). I’m pretty sure they “simply” eliminated the other instruments and vocals. It’s funny, because it does have a decidedly middle eastern sound
I've extracted the music from the game and never ran across the segment starting around 14:10, nor heard it ingame. Shame, because it's actually pretty cool.
@@milansafrany8498 Listening to it again I think the very last percussive motif was used in the Morinth vs. Samara decision moment, but the lead-up threw me off.
I have wondered the same thing for years... -.- why could't TH-cam do something useful like that instead of putting the title from the top of the video to the bottom--they must have thought it was genius. Just goes to show how much of a brain trust the people are.
Matt Clark27 it’s all apart of the same OST Track 13 - Samara I think it’s 13, the total length is like 7-8 minutes, it’s towards the end that the music playing whilst fighting Wasea plays
true but she's still awesome every buddy sins its just what we do in life that matters to make a change and to out balance our sins life can't go on with out a sin

this track suits Samara so well...
Find peace in the embrace of the Goddess.
Samara has the best music. There are parts that sound straight out of the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack.
Anna Launchbury I knew I wasn't the only one who picked that up! So say we all!!!
I don't think I'm the only one who knows they damn well based the Quarians and Geth off of BS: Galactica right?
I miss vintage Bioware ...
mickeybunts yeah, kotor was pretty good.
2010 is not vintage, not yet.
This aint vintage boy
Boo-hoo
@@Doc_Fun With how fast shit changes in the Vidya industry--and how cancerous it can become--this might as well be vintage
@@Doc_Fun at least, vintage Bio. Vintage 2.0, I suppose, after Baldur's Gate et al.
Samara music...Kasumi music...for a Krogan is hard to decide. :D
It's interesting that Samara is the one who got the Middle Eastern style. I love it, but interesting design choice.

Yesss! It was very epic.
Wasn't there always music?
@@Fami_SalamiNo. The original trilogy didn't have the music.
I THINK things! And they HAPPEN!
Biotic God? Is that really you?

Samara's theme is probably one of the best themes in MassEffect trilogy..
Best suite from the ME trilogy you ever put together. I just love every part of it. Such a masterpiece. I'm so glad I found you.
Азари с возрастом становятся только лучше, как вино :)
Самара хорошая такая зрелочка 😏🤤...
Жаль что с ней роман у Шепарда невозможен из-за её кодекса.
Но в игре по ней было видно что у неё было желание 😊.
3:42 Renegade interrupt sound effect
Very nice Middle-Eastern and Persian sounds flowing throughout. Reminds of so well of Prince of Persia. ((Yes, I finally changed this foolish comment.))
But this isn't Ubisoft?? It's Mass Effect and even the composer never did the Prince of Persia's soundtrack.
I too love that middle eastern feel, but this doesn't have anything to do with Ubisoft in the slightest
+finstrike7 Bioware bro
+finstrike7 Hm. I get Asian vibes off this more than Persian. Still wonderful stuff. Kudos to Jack, Sam, and the music team!
I know. I know. I was in error.
Her theme have this Middle Eastern vibe, especially with the vocals
Mass Effect 2 is a masterpiece
Interestingly, 14:11 gets reprised in ME3 when the maw hammer section on Tuchanka is about to begin.
Perfect theme for an alien vigilante warrior monk!
This is amazing. I'm addicted to this series :x
6:43
So epic and Amazonian!
Can't hear 10:08 without imagining a great biotic wind!
If he'd waited until the sequel...

Samara has one of the best soundtracks in Mass Effect. Andromeda is no where close as good as the original trilogy.
Andromeda is fan fiction. Bad fan fiction at that.
Andromeda isn't good at all. What are you smoking?
Comparing andromeda to the trilogy is like comparing a steak to cat shit.
I played Andromeda for the first time last year. I could tell that they fixed some of the most glaring bugs and animation flaws. Had they done so before the release date they would have got a lot less hate. I enjoyed playing it, even if it didnt have everything that we remebered about ME2 that made it so great.
Drugs and murder thats where you find Samarah. Mercenaries...
Liara's grandmother was alive when the ancient Egyptians were still around on earth. All living Asari actually.🐈⬛
I ran around with Samara more then I normally would have hoping I'd get music like this. It didn't work but it was still awesome.
Samara is a badass.
Will there ever be a game as good as the first 3 mass effects? I've been waiting almost a decade and still haven't found one.
Theme of Billie Eilish's mom.
(No seriously, she voiced Samara in the series.)
Whenever I have this song playing in the background while doing homework, 7:20 to 7:40 gets me every time.
Around 1:20 it starts sounding like a remix of the old PS2 startup theme... still awesome :P
I think you added an extra "R" in Samara's name, but other than that, this is an amazing compilation to the soundtrack! Awesome! =D
Too bad we learn from Javik that the Goddess Athame was actually a group of Protheans who offered help to the asari at critical moments of their history lol
Thats the best part 5:29
Great too 12:13

Everybody's found peace in the Goddess I take it?
This track makes me wish Samara's loyalty mission was an actual MISSION, not a wack-ass dating sim.
12:38 is actually in the song "Callista" by Saki Kaskas, it fits too well into the mix though.
Either way, that bit is definitely in the soundtrack. Score Forge didn't add it.

8:02 to 10:07/12:36 has been stuck in my head for weeks...
3:52
I believe Jimmy Hinson actually composed this one
Evidently by holding up Bear McCreary for unused "Battlestar Galactica" samples stashed away in his filing cabinet.
I've extracted the music from the game and never ran across the segment starting around 14:10, nor heard it ingame. Shame, because it's actually pretty cool.
It plays during Zaeed's loyalty mission when first meeting Vido... I know i know.... 8 years is a long time

do u have illium chase
Prince of persia vibes
Why is there no repeat button?

such a cool soundtrack yet i always let Samara die bc stand with Morinth even when i have to kill her in ME 3 :D
