C clamps are great, I've used them for years until I saw the the Lang Caliper Press. Maybe not a big deal if you aren't changing brakes every day but anything that saves time or energy, I'm all about that.
Yea if I were doing it every day, I would definitely get one of those. I love tools like that. I can use the big pliers or c clamp every few years to do my own pads though. That’s one less tool I have to buy 😂😂. Lord knows I buy enough.
Great video! Can you do a full video of the rotor/hub/brake replacement on your truck when you get your parts in for the front hubs? I think that'd be a good video.
Some people fault me for keeping my tools clean. It’s the very grime, oils and chemicals in vehicle maintenance that cause the deterioration of the handles specifically. And also… why not. I view tools as an investment always. 👍.
Yea I like to wipe them down after they get covered in grease and break dust. I don’t keep them perfect, but I do like to keep them clean enough to pick up and not get my hands dirty immediately. When you spend a small fortune on your tools, it makes sense to take care of them. I like the hard handles because they wipe off easy.
Inherited a vintage blue Point tongue & groover pliers about the same size as the CL 460s. Before I knew a damn thing about tools, I saw them and KNEW I needed to keep them. Harbor freight sells a knock off of that snap on light under the Braun brand for like $30 bucks. They are KILLER for the price.
Those big ass channel locks are life savers. Yea I’ve thought about grabbing a couple of the HF lights like that just to have a more because I like that design of light so much. I might have to do that.
Damn man. You should probably call a Snap-On guy immediately and get yourself some sockets, ratchets, and pry bars. Then go out and uninstall and re-install all your brakes from all your vehicles with those tools. Your vehicles will stop much better after that. Better to be safe than sorry.
Yoooo first comment! I've never considered the 460s as a compressor tool. But at under $40 at the big box store, why wouldn't anyone have a pair? I used to do the C-clamp thing too but got one of those tools that's two metal plates and you put a 17mm wrench on a hex between them, I like the leverage without the tiny little rod on the clamp. For the trim tools I have one a lot like that but it's from Lisle. It's one of those things that Lisle does not make in the States. I just love the handle shape and wish they would do screwdrivers with that handle. People can find the Wilde pry bar set for cheaper through a retailer, they charge like $140 for the set with the hanger at least when I bought them. But, that money went straight to the 70 jobs they provide without having a middleman take their slice of the pie. Worth it.
Yea I think it’s worth it to support Wilde also. I actually really liked using the big channel locks for the caliper piston. I had to squeeze pretty hard but it was less annoying than the c clamp. I can’t bring myself to buy one of those brake piston tools when I do it so seldom and I can make it work with my other tools, but I bet that thing works great. I want some snap on trim tools. It’s like 150 bucks for the 3 piece hard handle set though 😭😭
@@realworldtoolreviews Brother you gotta go down to Advance Auto and feel the handle on the Lisle one first. Might just win you over and for much much cheaper. But then again it might not, and it's not Made in USA...
@@AToolWithTools I think I know what handle you are talking about. I have a razor scraper by them with that handle. I think I got it at advance auto. I might look at those or just stick with these Pittsburgh for a while. It’s so hard to decide 😂. Lisle is an awesome company though.
@@realworldtoolreviews If it has that slightly dark red color, hexagonal overall shape, more bulbous in the end that goes in the palm and deep scallops where the fingers go, that's the one. Love it. Want more of it. Would buy screwdrivers with that handle in an instant, and I already have more than enough screwdrivers, even the new Channellock ones that just came out. So I guess you could say I'm also indecisive 🤣

I never use jack stands they seem so unsafe I think just the floor jack is safe enough for me
I always use the jack stands and the floor jack as a backup. Jack stands are safer than just the jack if they are placed properly.
