My dad grew up in Chicago, him and my aunts used to talk about the fun they had as kids. They could walk the streets safely back then, there’s not a city left in America where that could happen.
I did too but I left when I was 24 and never moved back the shooting was so bad and I got tried of seeing children come in the ER Shot the hell up just by going to the store or the park! It was time go!

I have a two month old and this is just devastating to hear! That poor baby just got here only to have her life ripped away from her like that. This brings tears to my eyes. Prayers to the family. I can’t imagine the pain they’re going through.
To the gentleman that they interviewed, I couldn't have said it better myself. My heart goes out to the families of both victims. I am glad that the man survived, I hope an pray something good will come of this tragic situation. My prayers for the baby an her family. No baby ever deserve to die, especially like that. This is heartbreaking & tragic. My gosh, our babies aren’t even safe anymore. This is so confusing. Was it road rage? The man being interviewed said, “he understands it was two cars shooting at each other but this was a baby, an innocent babies life was taken that did nothing to you.” That statement makes it sound like the vehicle the baby was in was shooting as well, so was this a gang related thing, or was this road rage? Either way it’s tragic but yikes if the parents were the other car or shooters referenced shooting with their baby in the car. I truly hope not OR if that’s the case that it was self-defense after the other car started shooting. Regardless, my heart still goes out to them that they lost their innocent beautiful baby. No I don’t write this out of meanness, I simply bring up genuine curiosities, as we all know how this world is today.

These kinds of atrocities happen every day in Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Memphis, New Orleans, Cleveland, New York, Minneapolis, Portland, Baltimore, Jackson, Richmond and many more...but no one wants to address the underlining issue that all these cities have in common. (And no, it's not lack of gun control) The violent crime is all caused by the same community and encouraged by their culture, and it is continuously ignored. It needs to be addressed and their community needs to take responsibility.
