Don't be intimidated by how complex it looks, I almost resigned myself back to the endless "soft resetting at the top of the stairs" method, I don't have a capture card and I wasn't sure I could do all of this by myself. However, I ended up using my laptop webcam and got a shiny on my second try. He presents the tutorial brilliantly, the only things that are not mentioned in this video, one of which is mentioned in another, is that when you start the preview box, by default the blue box will be in the corner, find the x and y coordinate boxes and use the keypad to scroll up instead of typing in the number. As x and y increase, the box will shift horizontally and vertically, do this until it is centered around your character's eye. The other piece of advice is that when installing python, make sure to leave the box that installs it for all users checked, when you run the install.bat and run.bat it will be depending on the version that is installed under the admin user of the pc, not your user. If you only install it for your user it will not work.
@@shinigami7230 I'm not gonna lie it's been a while and I don't think I entirely remember the setup on the virtual side of things, but I had to prop my laptop up on some stuff and turn on a whole bunch of lights so it was as focused and clear as it could be for the tracking.
THANK YOU for these vids - been going through my living shiny dex and updating as many legends and mythics as possible to my OT instead of rando genned mons from wonder trade and the GTS over the years, and it feels incredible to hit a shiny frame after putting in the work to learn the science behind how the RNG seed works. Was able to get my shiny starter in 2 tries in both BD and SP, shaymin in 31 tries, palkia and dialga in 2 each, arceus on my first shot, the lake trio within 10 attempts each, all the fossils, and most of the ramanas legends within 5-6 tries with some calibration. My biggest regret is not getting into BDSP sooner, since I missed the darkrai window entirely - for now he and manaphy will have to remain the only legends/mythics that don't have my OT. You (and the RNG community) are the GOAT! Now I need to learn Gen 7 and Gen 5 RNG before they shut down bank and transporter next year....

Go to the third pillar and do the blinks just outside any of the doors (third pillar guarantees giratina’s in the next room UNLESS you save in the pillar room, in which it will take you back to the entrance instead. There’s a preset configuration for turnback and the timeline info is in the calc sheet. I think it’s the same as most of the other legends with 84 delay and 110 timeline buffer

Just want to give you a huge shout out, and THANK YOU for this video and program! There’s no way I would have got this without your help! I had to adjust the calculator to 134! Calibrating the eye was definitely the most difficult part of this whole process, but once I got past the 40 blinks, within 6-10 tries and making sure I hit the A button on que just right. Update: I've attempted this all the way through about 10 or 11 times. It's so frustrating because I keep getting one advance frame off. Usually 1 frame too late even when I adjust for that extra second. For me the final press is around -131 Edit: I did it! I finally hit it. Took about maybe 20 tries in all after getting used to all the programs, the timer, the calibrations, and my own timing

I gave up on Shiny Shaymin because the programs just weren't working for me, it was much too complex. But with Arceus, it's a lot simpler, and you explained it a lot better in this video--after soft-resetting exactly 1,002 times, and failing the first attempt, the second attempt at RNG worked and I got my Shiny Arceus! Thank you so much for this video!
Finally got him! Took about ten tries, and really my frames were all over the place, I actually used a delay of 134 and then subtracted 5 frames off the final a press just given my tracking but it WORKED! Thank you for such a helpful vid - now to learn how to do this for other pokemon in this + other games.
I got the shiny Arceus today pretty handily in 2 tries. Some helpful tips from the discord include starting the blink checks in the cave and starting the timeline from when you close the key item message and running out of the cave. Also remember to turn off autosave. Overall relatively convenient for a RNG method even with a laptop camera.

@@Ochrehorns It's been a while, but my first attempt was pretty far off trying to calibrate outside the cave, so I searched in the discord about Arceus and found some discussion about how it was more consistent to calibrate inside the cave. In that case the timer reaching 0 is the point you have to exit the textbox and hold up so you leave the cave, and then waiting for the last A press on the cry text before the battle begins. I also used slightly different settings based on someone in the Discord using a 130 delay and 225 buffer.
Whoo! it works, your delay and timeline buffer worked perfectly for me! took me about 15 tries, as soon as didn't lose focus while clicking on timeline it came with 2 tries! Really appreciate the fine details of your videos!

i got it first try ! and by using a 20$ old camera ! i just followed your tutorial and used a copy of your google sheet and arceus in one go, i'm shaking ! this was so simple it tooks just a couple minutes to setup but it was so worth it thanks man
Ive had this manip in mind to do for 2 years and after procrastinating and giving up on it in the past after not getting the blinks properly I finally gave it a proper chance and after 4 tries I got Shiny Arceus. Thank you so much for the guide, softresetting is way more tedious boring and less satisfying than this. Honestly getting the correct frame for the Shiny Arceus was one of the most satisfying moments I have had with a Pokemon game.
For anyone wondering how to get a Recycle/Switheroo pokemon for hunting; get a smeargle ( located on route 212 with pokeradar) it has sketch and can learn Recycle(munchlax/porygon) and Switcheroo(persian,etc). Easiest way is to rebattle the double battle trainers on route 210. Last moves can be spore/false swipe if you like. These sets are my examples of how I got the smeargle the way I wanted.
Just wanted to say I used this method today and successfully acquired my shiny. It took a while to actually get the steps right (I accidentally turned off the monitoring, jumped past my target step a few times, walked up the stairs instead of running and missed my final mark), but on my second properly executed attempt it worked. Thanks for this tutorial.
I finally got it with your guide. I just stuck to the 133 and took me 5 ish attempts. It's just hard sometimes since the Framerate is wonky as it is. I was legitimately SR 2.300 times and didn't get a single Shiny encounter, then I found your video. It took me a couple hours to understand the algorithm before getting the hang of an entire new concept and calculation, but it's 100 times better than standard 1/4096.
That depends on if you're 133 too late or too early. If it's 133 advances late, then you'll want to add 133 to whatever your delay already is. This will make it so that the spreadsheet shows your target advances 133 advances earlier. It's just an offset to correct the difference @@jorge_trujillo
Been shiny hunting this thing since April (of course, taking breaks from time to time) and it never shun (shined?). I took Saturday off, set everything in like 30 minutes and hunted arceus for 4 hours using a webcam and I finally got it. I clicked this version of the RNG tools and it STILL tells me I'm using the wrong version. On top of that, when I try to upgrade, I just can't do it. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
After almost a year of trying to hunt this thing the normal way on and off, and a couple of failed attempts of understanding how to do this and getting it to work- I finally decided to give this method another shot and after two tries...I finally got my shiny God Pokemon. I can't believe I've passed 10days soft resetting for shiny Palkia and, when I found out about RNG, I found all shiny legendary Pokémons (Arceus included) in one week 😅 glad I found out RNG manipulation with your videos at Ranamas Park! @@masierity2917 The rabbit hole just goes one level deeper, and you wind up like me... only going for Perfect Competitive Shiny Pokemon, which is basically impossible when SR'ing, but doable with RNG manipulation (but still difficult).
@@masierity2917 I just don't want to spend weeks waiting for a shiny Pokémon to show up just because of "luck". I was shiny hunting for Registeel in SWSH weeks after weeks (almost four days a week, for too many hours) still nothing and it's not funny at all. For me at least, it was just frustrating. I understand why people like to do that, I've done it for a while now, but I have a job now and I found more interesting and fun to do it with rng manipulation, that saves me so much time. I personally find this method much more fascinating than soft resetting and hoping for (my bad) luck.

You are a hero. I had 1000+ resets on this and decided to try this with my phone as a webcam. Took a couple of attempts to get the seed because the eye wouldn’t be quite right. But finally got an attempt in about 10 minutes ago and got it first try thanks to your guide and spreadsheet. Amazing work! I’ll for sure be trying other legendaries with this method.
Tried again this morning after 5 failed attempts last night. Opened the config and a took a new eye pic, but every time I monitor blinks I get "failed to deduce seed from monitored blinks" any ideas Jefe?

I have been at this for hours and have been off by anywhere from 4 advances to 76. Usually late rather than early, too. Okay, kinda, but I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong here, cause I feel like I'm checking all the boxes right, cause the setup was admittedly touch and go. Edit: Can officially confirm that even with the ability to manipulate RNG, RNGesus is not on my side. My internet just died on me so I panicked and got to my phone to open up the drive folder, had mere seconds to spare, and because mercy is but a dream it still isn't shiny. I think I was having more fun doing it the soft reset way, and I wasn't having fun with that, period.
If you've been 4 advances off, you were extremely close. Not sure what could be going wrong because it sounds like you're all over the place, but if you join the discord I guarantee we could help you get it!
@@PapaJefeYT I appreciate it, but I spent 7 hours on this and am already just done with it. As in, I don't wanna do this anymore. I can't find a proper way to pass the time cause my Switch is already in use just waiting for the advances to pass by, I don't know how to properly set up the reidentify situation as it seems more advances pass by without being counted the longer I wait to reidentify and of course stopping it stops the advances completely, every instance had a completely different calculation error with said 4-76 advances off, it's just too much work and not enough results. I'm sorry, but I just can't after my experience last night.
@@ThisIsCSDX sorry to hear you had such a poor experience. I tried to make the method as approachable as possible, but at it's baseline its a technical and involved process that's not for everyone. I'd like to get things to the point where anyone can try and avoid getting stuck like you did, and will keep trying. I hope you're still able to get a shiny Arceus with traditional hunting methods. I just want to say that after 13439 SRs to find Shiny Arceus and FAILING (accidentally ran away- RIP to me) I found this video. It took me 4.5 hours (most of which was configurations and getting set up for actual attempts) and 3 total attempts (first two were sloppy) I managed to find this Pokémon using this method. Took over 30 turns to catch it but I got in a timer ball and I couldn’t be happier about it. Thank you for your very detailed and user-friendly explanations/instructions. It was 2:30am and my family was sleeping, which is the only reason I didn’t scream out loud when it showed up. You got subscription for your efforts. Cheers mate!
I have a question, I fully intent to do this for the 3 pokemons I have left to shiny hunt, Giratina, Rayquaza and Arcues but the capture card that I have has a delay and I want to know if that delay needs to be taken in considerations for when I want to do the last A press. Do I time it irl or do I time it for the delayed image??

How do you even get the frame to monitor the blinks, I’ve done the method and it works just fine with Ramanas Park and Shaymin, but I can’t get it to monitor with Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Mt.Coronet and Spear Pillar, it just won’t do it for those for some reason
it really really works, took me the whole day configuring and getting the delay right, then +10 attempts off by 1 frame, but i finally did it thank you so much seems complex but its so much better than reseting for months
I don't usually comment, but just wanted to say this method works. Thank you Papa Jefe. It may take a bit to get the correct timing, but legit just follow the guide, it works 100 percent as long as you don't skip anything in the video. A few things that may help others that helped me. 1. If you are using a pro controller for the switch while doing this manipulation, when it comes time to walk up the stairs, do not use the d-pad. Use the joystick. The joystick lets you move slightly faster to hit the timing better and also if you press up on the dpad, you will glitch out and move left or right rather than up. That messed me up on a few attempts and I haven't seen anyone mention the dpad issues. Not sure if this glitch is present if you are using the switch directly, but I would imagine it may be the same issue. 2. If you used your masterball like I did before this fight, I highly recommend having a pokemon at level 80 with Thunder Wave. Also a pokemon(s) with light screen, flash and drain punch is a great stalling method. I bought 80 or so timer balls and 100 ultraballs. Ultimately, I think I had higher success with the Ultra Balls, so probably use those even if 20 turns have passed, ultra seems to be more consistent. Orange health is fine, just make sure its afflicted with Paralysis. Usually on average, it took me about 10-15 balls to catch Arceus. I had to catch him about 6 or 7 times to figure out how close I was to the time I needed, so I got pretty good at catching him the old fashioned way. My main two pokemon was Electivire and gallade for my method of catching him with out an Master Ball. Keep in mind, even with this strat, you can have him struggle to death. I had that happen twice, so this is not fool proof. 3. Remember you can run away and re-use the seed you setup previously as long as you reidentify after entering and reexisting the cave. He mentions this near the end of the video, but I feel its a very useful thing to know from the get go to save some time. Hope my experiences help!

I fumbled my second setup so bad I clicked my timeline too early and clicked my finale a press 1 second too late and I managed to get my shiny arceus somehow. Thank you for this tutorial.
@@Streetlight51 oh good! This is a common issue I didn't know about at the time. For anyone curious, basically something about the flute cutscene can leave an Arceus off screen that interferes with your blinking. You can clear it by encountering Arceus once, then running away and going back down into the cave and saving.

I got the god of piss on my first try, but took a couple hours of set-up and figuring out a stable way to prop my switch in front of my laptop camera (I had the laptop turned on its side). For anyone trying to use an iPhone; I couldn’t get the program to accept EpocCam. It insisted on only being accessed through the Elgato Camera Hub. Good luck to any others trying for shinies!
I have no clue if you’re still responding to comments but I have to say, thank you SO much! I hunted for this thing for 12 days, with 4500 resets on top of completing both PLA and BDSP, I tried this once and couldn’t get the eye to work, tried it again one week later and got it on my third try, I will definitely be using this method for the other legends if they go over odds.
Thank you so much! I don't have a capture card so I used an old blurry webcam and it worked! Also, the program doesn't run on Windows 7, had to upgrade to Windows 8.1, but I got my shiny after a few hours! ✨
Finally got it after several attempts throughout the day. Not sure if there was some extra delay between my camera (it's pretty old with questionable resolution) and the switch, but I ended up with a 140 Final A-Press Delay to finally nail it. Much appreciated Papa Jefe!
First time actually trying blinks after watching many of your vids. I was lucky enough to have a seed in the low hundreds of frames so I just waited it out while watching. Unfortunately I was one frame too early pressing A on the first try. Thanks for this!

Thank you for these videos! I gave up on Shaymin but decided to give this a try as it looked easier. It took me forever to get my seeds as it kept failing to register blinks plus I totally butchered my timing on my first 2 attempts but somehow I got lucky and got it on my third attempt. I have no idea what happend because I hit timeline at the time I was supposed to be the click didn't register so I waited few secodns and ran up to Arceus and made my final A press when I was supposed to and it was shiny. Weird thing too is the nature and the stats dodn't line up with any of the ones listed in PokeFinder for that seed but I don't care, I'm just happy I got it! Thanks again! :)

14:43 can you explain this leppa berry recycle action? Everything I've read says recycle can't recover items transferred to others with the likes of trick or switcheroo.
After messing up 2 times (not putting the correct values into the spreadsheet on google) then walking up the stairs and not running once, it took 2 more tries and I got it!

Took some gosh dang doing but BEST method to shiny hunt my goodness once I get an actual pc setup I’ll be coming back to do the rest just wanted this arceus for scarlet and violet Tera raids, shout out to you PJ
5 attempts. Saw the video when I woke up before work and saved it for after. Finished work, got home, had dinner, and then began. Took about 3-4 full video rewatches and multiple times I had to go back and see what you did specifically for certain parts, but quickly it all became second nature and I found myself no longer needing to use it for help after about 2 hours. My webcam is awful, and I mean awful and it still was able to detect the blinks no problem, kept it at 0.9 and it only one time had an error finding the code or reidentifying. Then the attempts. First two attempts were just very bad, I was still trying to figure certain things out. I was late on "A" presses for textboxes first go and walked to slowly up the stairs to reach the advance I needed for the second. But third attempt I felt good and my heart was beating, but the Arceus did not shine. I punched in the stats and it told me I was 4 advances to late, but I felt good and I went for another one. I ended up overshooting almost every shiny advance until I landed on one up in the mid 30'000's and I finally got close and waited. I did everything to the best of my ability and felt really good again, but the Arceus did not shine. I checked the stats one more time and to my surprise I was exactly one advance too late. I was a little upset as it was nearing 11pm and I have too work the morning shift but decided I would attempt one more. Within 10 minutes I had my new seed and was looking up the advance I needed to get and the first was around 4200. I did some dex shuffling and reidentified only to see I overshot to 5500. I was used to this and went for my next advance which was 7199. This meant I needed to start my timeline at 6979. So once again, I did some dex shuffling and this time I ended up around 6600. I decided this was where I wanted to wait so I unzoomed the switch camera, help up and hit a three times total until it had the textbox saying I played the azure flute and I waited. My advances finally reached 6979 and I quickly hit "A" as I saw the numbers change. The cutscene slowly played out, the staircase slowly came down and I waited for the textbox. The textbox popped up and my first "A" press was too early, my second one also, but my third one cleared the box and I quickly ran up the stairs. I saw Arceus, exclamation point overhead. I approach Arceus, the roar textbox popping up. Now, I must hit "A" at advance 7066, but remembering my one frame to late from the attempt before I watch my advances go up, 7061, 7062, I think I have to hit "A" just the smallest amount earlier than last time, 7063, 7064, 7065.... I hit "A".. 7066. It was a late 7065 "A" press, so I keep holding hope and then it appeared. Shiny Arceus. I couldn't believe my eyes. Thank you Papa Jefé, you are incredible.

He presents the tutorial brilliantly, the only things that are not mentioned in this video, one of which is mentioned in another, is that when you start the preview box, by default the blue box will be in the corner, find the x and y coordinate boxes and use the keypad to scroll up instead of typing in the number. As x and y increase, the box will shift horizontally and vertically, do this until it is centered around your character's eye. The other piece of advice is that when installing python, make sure to leave the box that installs it for all users checked, when you run the install.bat and run.bat it will be depending on the version that is installed under the admin user of the pc, not your user. If you only install it for your user it will not work.
How did you use your laptop webcam to do it?
@@shinigami7230 I'm not gonna lie it's been a while and I don't think I entirely remember the setup on the virtual side of things, but I had to prop my laptop up on some stuff and turn on a whole bunch of lights so it was as focused and clear as it could be for the tracking.

THANK YOU for these vids - been going through my living shiny dex and updating as many legends and mythics as possible to my OT instead of rando genned mons from wonder trade and the GTS over the years, and it feels incredible to hit a shiny frame after putting in the work to learn the science behind how the RNG seed works.
Was able to get my shiny starter in 2 tries in both BD and SP, shaymin in 31 tries, palkia and dialga in 2 each, arceus on my first shot, the lake trio within 10 attempts each, all the fossils, and most of the ramanas legends within 5-6 tries with some calibration. My biggest regret is not getting into BDSP sooner, since I missed the darkrai window entirely - for now he and manaphy will have to remain the only legends/mythics that don't have my OT.
You (and the RNG community) are the GOAT! Now I need to learn Gen 7 and Gen 5 RNG before they shut down bank and transporter next year....

@@MyCat521yeah. Go to the third pillar and do the blinks just outside any of the doors (third pillar guarantees giratina’s in the next room UNLESS you save in the pillar room, in which it will take you back to the entrance instead.
There’s a preset configuration for turnback and the timeline info is in the calc sheet. I think it’s the same as most of the other legends with 84 delay and 110 timeline buffer

Just want to give you a huge shout out, and THANK YOU for this video and program! There’s no way I would have got this without your help! I had to adjust the calculator to 134! Calibrating the eye was definitely the most difficult part of this whole process, but once I got past the 40 blinks, within 6-10 tries and making sure I hit the A button on que just right. Update: I've attempted this all the way through about 10 or 11 times. It's so frustrating because I keep getting one advance frame off. Usually 1 frame too late even when I adjust for that extra second. For me the final press is around -131
Edit: I did it! I finally hit it. Took about maybe 20 tries in all after getting used to all the programs, the timer, the calibrations, and my own timing

I gave up on Shiny Shaymin because the programs just weren't working for me, it was much too complex. But with Arceus, it's a lot simpler, and you explained it a lot better in this video--after soft-resetting exactly 1,002 times, and failing the first attempt, the second attempt at RNG worked and I got my Shiny Arceus! Finally got him! Took about ten tries, and really my frames were all over the place, I actually used a delay of 134 and then subtracted 5 frames off the final a press just given my tracking but it WORKED! Thank you for such a helpful vid - now to learn how to do this for other pokemon in this + other games.
I got the shiny Arceus today pretty handily in 2 tries. Some helpful tips from the discord include starting the blink checks in the cave and starting the timeline from when you close the key item message and running out of the cave. Also remember to turn off autosave. Overall relatively convenient for a RNG method even with a laptop camera.

@@Ochrehorns It's been a while, but my first attempt was pretty far off trying to calibrate outside the cave, so I searched in the discord about Arceus and found some discussion about how it was more consistent to calibrate inside the cave. In that case the timer reaching 0 is the point you have to exit the textbox and hold up so you leave the cave, and then waiting for the last A press on the cry text before the battle begins. I also used slightly different settings based on someone in the Discord using a 130 delay and 225 buffer.
Whoo! it works, your delay and timeline buffer worked perfectly for me! took me about 15 tries, as soon as didn't lose focus while clicking on timeline it came with 2 tries! Really appreciate the fine details of your videos!

Ive had this manip in mind to do for 2 years and after procrastinating and giving up on it in the past after not getting the blinks properly I finally gave it a proper chance and after 4 tries I got Shiny Arceus. Thank you so much for the guide, softresetting is way more tedious boring and less satisfying than this. Honestly getting the correct frame for the Shiny Arceus was one of the most satisfying moments I have had with a Pokemon game.
For anyone wondering how to get a Recycle/Switheroo pokemon for hunting; get a smeargle ( located on route 212 with pokeradar) it has sketch and can learn Recycle(munchlax/porygon) and Switcheroo(persian,etc). Easiest way is to rebattle the double battle trainers on route 210. Last moves can be spore/false swipe if you like. These sets are my examples of how I got the smeargle the way I wanted.

You need Fling, not Switcheroo/Trick.
Problem is, Fling does damage so it's not ideal for False Swipe strats.

Just wanted to say I used this method today and successfully acquired my shiny. It took a while to actually get the steps right (I accidentally turned off the monitoring, jumped past my target step a few times, walked up the stairs instead of running and missed my final mark), but on my second properly executed attempt it worked. It's just hard sometimes since the Framerate is wonky as it is. I was legitimately SR 2.300 times and didn't get a single Shiny encounter, then I found your video.
It took me a couple hours to understand the algorithm before getting the hang of an entire new concept and calculation, but it's 100 times better than standard 1/4096.

That depends on if you're 133 too late or too early. If it's 133 advances late, then you'll want to add 133 to whatever your delay already is. This will make it so that the spreadsheet shows your target advances 133 advances earlier. It's just an offset to correct the difference @@jorge_trujillo

Been shiny hunting this thing since April (of course, taking breaks from time to time) and it never shun (shined?). I took Saturday off, set everything in like 30 minutes and hunted arceus for 4 hours using a webcam and I finally got it.

@@masierity2917 The rabbit hole just goes one level deeper, and you wind up like me... only going for Perfect Competitive Shiny Pokemon, which is basically impossible when SR'ing, but doable with RNG manipulation (but still difficult).
@@masierity2917 I just don't want to spend weeks waiting for a shiny Pokémon to show up just because of "luck". I was shiny hunting for Registeel in SWSH weeks after weeks (almost four days a week, for too many hours) still nothing and it's not funny at all. For me at least, it was just frustrating. I understand why people like to do that, I've done it for a while now, but I have a job now and I found more interesting and fun to do it with rng manipulation, that saves me so much time. I personally find this method much more fascinating than soft resetting and hoping for (my bad) luck.

You are a hero. I had 1000+ resets on this and decided to try this with my phone as a webcam. Took a couple of attempts to get the seed because the eye wouldn’t be quite right. But finally got an attempt in about 10 minutes ago and got it first try thanks to your guide and spreadsheet. Amazing work! I’ll for sure be trying other legendaries with this method.

Edit: Can officially confirm that even with the ability to manipulate RNG, RNGesus is not on my side. My internet just died on me so I panicked and got to my phone to open up the drive folder, had mere seconds to spare, and because mercy is but a dream it still isn't shiny.
I think I was having more fun doing it the soft reset way, and I wasn't having fun with that, period.
If you've been 4 advances off, you were extremely close. Not sure what could be going wrong because it sounds like you're all over the place, but if you join the discord I guarantee we could help you get it!
@@PapaJefeYT I appreciate it, but I spent 7 hours on this and am already just done with it. As in, I don't wanna do this anymore. I can't find a proper way to pass the time cause my Switch is already in use just waiting for the advances to pass by, I don't know how to properly set up the reidentify situation as it seems more advances pass by without being counted the longer I wait to reidentify and of course stopping it stops the advances completely, every instance had a completely different calculation error with said 4-76 advances off, it's just too much work and not enough results. I'm sorry, but I just can't after my experience last night.

RNG manipulation on the DS games requires no capture card or anything. Its completely different.
BDSP however do require a video feed of some kind.

I just want to say that after 13439 SRs to find Shiny Arceus and FAILING (accidentally ran away- RIP to me) I found this video. It took me 4.5 hours (most of which was configurations and getting set up for actual attempts) and 3 total attempts (first two were sloppy) I managed to find this Pokémon using this method. Took over 30 turns to catch it but I got in a timer ball and I couldn’t be happier about it. Thank you for your very detailed and user-friendly explanations/instructions. It was 2:30am and my family was sleeping, which is the only reason I didn’t scream out loud when it showed up.

I have a question, I fully intent to do this for the 3 pokemons I have left to shiny hunt, Giratina, Rayquaza and Arcues but the capture card that I have has a delay and I want to know if that delay needs to be taken in considerations for when I want to do the last A press. Do I time it irl or do I time it for the delayed image??
The program is going to be synced with the delayed image.

How do you even get the frame to monitor the blinks, I’ve done the method and it works just fine with Ramanas Park and Shaymin, but I can’t get it to monitor with Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Mt.Coronet and Spear Pillar, it just won’t do it for those for some reason

I don't usually comment, but just wanted to say this method works. Thank you Papa Jefe.
It may take a bit to get the correct timing, but legit just follow the guide, it works 100 percent as long as you don't skip anything in the video. A few things that may help others that helped me.
1. If you are using a pro controller for the switch while doing this manipulation, when it comes time to walk up the stairs, do not use the d-pad. Use the joystick. The joystick lets you move slightly faster to hit the timing better and also if you press up on the dpad, you will glitch out and move left or right rather than up. That messed me up on a few attempts and I haven't seen anyone mention the dpad issues. Not sure if this glitch is present if you are using the switch directly, but I would imagine it may be the same issue.
2. If you used your masterball like I did before this fight, I highly recommend having a pokemon at level 80 with Thunder Wave. Also a pokemon(s) with light screen, flash and drain punch is a great stalling method. I bought 80 or so timer balls and 100 ultraballs. Ultimately, I think I had higher success with the Ultra Balls, so probably use those even if 20 turns have passed, ultra seems to be more consistent. Orange health is fine, just make sure its afflicted with Paralysis. Usually on average, it took me about 10-15 balls to catch Arceus. I had to catch him about 6 or 7 times to figure out how close I was to the time I needed, so I got pretty good at catching him the old fashioned way. My main two pokemon was Electivire and gallade for my method of catching him with out an Master Ball. Keep in mind, even with this strat, you can have him struggle to death. I had that happen twice, so this is not fool proof.
3. Remember you can run away and re-use the seed you setup previously as long as you reidentify after entering and reexisting the cave. He mentions this near the end of the video, but I feel its a very useful thing to know from the get go to save some time.

@@Streetlight51 oh good! This is a common issue I didn't know about at the time.
For anyone curious, basically something about the flute cutscene can leave an Arceus off screen that interferes with your blinking.
You can clear it by encountering Arceus once, then running away and going back down into the cave and saving.
Brilliant guide, thank you! I got the god of piss on my first try, but took a couple hours of set-up and figuring out a stable way to prop my switch in front of my laptop camera (I had the laptop turned on its side).
For anyone trying to use an iPhone; I couldn’t get the program to accept EpocCam. It insisted on only being accessed through the Elgato Camera Hub.

I hunted for this thing for 12 days, with 4500 resets on top of completing both PLA and BDSP, I tried this once and couldn’t get the eye to work, tried it again one week later and got it on my third try, I will definitely be using this method for the other legends if they go over odds.

Finally got it after several attempts throughout the day. Not sure if there was some extra delay between my camera (it's pretty old with questionable resolution) and the switch, but I ended up with a 140 Final A-Press Delay to finally nail it. Much appreciated Papa Jefe!
140 is what I set mine too as well. I didn't use the timeline feature at all but still nailed it
First time actually trying blinks after watching many of your vids. I was lucky enough to have a seed in the low hundreds of frames so I just waited it out while watching. Unfortunately I was one frame too early pressing A on the first try. Thanks for this!

Got mine through this method after a couple of tries!! And in a Premier Ball after 3-4 balls!! Thank you so much for making this easy to understand and replicate. Takes a couple of tries but I’m so glad I got the hang of it. Will try it with the others. Thank you again!!!

Thank you for these videos! I gave up on Shaymin but decided to give this a try as it looked easier. It took me forever to get my seeds as it kept failing to register blinks plus I totally butchered my timing on my first 2 attempts but somehow I got lucky and got it on my third attempt. I have no idea what happend because I hit timeline at the time I was supposed to be the click didn't register so I waited few secodns and ran up to Arceus and made my final A press when I was supposed to and it was shiny. Weird thing too is the nature and the stats dodn't line up with any of the ones listed in PokeFinder for that seed but I don't care, I'm just happy I got it! Thanks again! :)
I was using a modest Mew, forgot it had synchronize. I didn't realize until I started hunting Darkrai using this method and they were all modest. lol
Bro!!!! This works!!! Fourth time after some adjusting and the golden boi blessed me!! After 461 resets on my own, this guys method got me the shiny god in 4 more resets.

14:43 can you explain this leppa berry recycle action? Everything I've read says recycle can't recover items transferred to others with the likes of trick or switcheroo.
After messing up 2 times (not putting the correct values into the spreadsheet on google) then walking up the stairs and not running once, it took 2 more tries and I got it!

That's what I ended up getting mine at too. Took a couple of tries but it was worth it.
I got a shiny Arceus had to rewatch this to understand what went wrong
5 attempts. Saw the video when I woke up before work and saved it for after. Finished work, got home, had dinner, and then began. Took about 3-4 full video rewatches and multiple times I had to go back and see what you did specifically for certain parts, but quickly it all became second nature and I found myself no longer needing to use it for help after about 2 hours. My webcam is awful, and I mean awful and it still was able to detect the blinks no problem, kept it at 0.9 and it only one time had an error finding the code or reidentifying. Then the attempts. First two attempts were just very bad, I was still trying to figure certain things out. I was late on "A" presses for textboxes first go and walked to slowly up the stairs to reach the advance I needed for the second. But third attempt I felt good and my heart was beating, but the Arceus did not shine. I punched in the stats and it told me I was 4 advances to late, but I felt good and I went for another one. I ended up overshooting almost every shiny advance until I landed on one up in the mid 30'000's and I finally got close and waited. I did everything to the best of my ability and felt really good again, but the Arceus did not shine. I checked the stats one more time and to my surprise I was exactly one advance too late. I was a little upset as it was nearing 11pm and I have too work the morning shift but decided I would attempt one more. Within 10 minutes I had my new seed and was looking up the advance I needed to get and the first was around 4200. I did some dex shuffling and reidentified only to see I overshot to 5500. I was used to this and went for my next advance which was 7199. This meant I needed to start my timeline at 6979. So once again, I did some dex shuffling and this time I ended up around 6600. I decided this was where I wanted to wait so I unzoomed the switch camera, help up and hit a three times total until it had the textbox saying I played the azure flute and I waited. My advances finally reached 6979 and I quickly hit "A" as I saw the numbers change. The cutscene slowly played out, the staircase slowly came down and I waited for the textbox. The textbox popped up and my first "A" press was too early, my second one also, but my third one cleared the box and I quickly ran up the stairs. I saw Arceus, exclamation point overhead. I approach Arceus, the roar textbox popping up. Now, I must hit "A" at advance 7066, but remembering my one frame to late from the attempt before I watch my advances go up, 7061, 7062, I think I have to hit "A" just the smallest amount earlier than last time, 7063, 7064, 7065.... I hit "A".. 7066. It was a late 7065 "A" press, so I keep holding hope and then it appeared. Shiny Arceus. I couldn't believe my eyes. Thank you Papa Jefé, you are incredible.

No matter how many times I run Reidentify, Progress becomes 20 instead of 7.
This causes the Advances value to be exceeded while counting to 20.
That's strange. Did you accidentally check the "Reident 1PK NPC" box? That does require 20 but shouldn't be done for Arceus
for anyone who doesn't have a webcam or capture card, I was able to get this method working using an app that allowed me to use my phone as a webcam for my computer. all you need is a phone and a computer and you can do this method.
