That truck is the ultimate "snow fighter" for the weather conditions you face each Winter. All the best in 2022 and thank you for letting us tag along and watch you work. As far a snow plow videos go, you are the top dog.

Without you 💔 guys I could have never gotten my job done!! Keep up the excellent work!!! Wishing you and your family and friends a happy and safe holidays!! Terri Ellis
Jim, thanks for taking us along to work with you today. I always look forward to your plowing videos with the multiple camera angles you use. 🙂By the way, thanks for wiping the snow off my glasses at about the 10:40 mark. 🙂 I think a number of us would enjoy a tour of your truck, both inside with all the controls you use, as well as the outside with the plows, sand/chemical spreader, etc.
It's been a hard year on blades I find I'm on my 3rd set on my wing and I doubt up I'm on my 2nd set on the one way I doubt up on it as well but I put a carbon blade next to the plow and a soft blade in front they should be good for the rest of winter and hopefully the wing blades will last better now that everything is froze good.
We used to run two soft blades on the with a carbide tip blade sandwiched between them. I would have been on my second or third set by now, but this year we are using Nordik Move blades on the front plow and I'm still on my first set. They are smooth and quiet, last better and do a lot better job of clearing the road surface. I love them! Check out their video th-cam.com/video/NnlZ0YGleuA/w-d-xo.html
Good morning Jim, I wish you a Merry, Merry Christmas. Drive carefully and take good care of your health. May all your wishes come true for now and in the future. Stay with us after a long time. Oh, have a lot of fun clearing the snow ;-) Greetings from Mönchengladbach, Germany Martin
@@JimHowDigsDirt I've had 2 pushes since then but nothing major. I'm want to be out 36+ hours making that real money. Haha. Sick of this weak stuff your out 9 hours then go home then back at it for another 6 hours doing snow removal. We need hours that's how I get paid. I work for a city and get paid hourly. So I want 10" or more snow falls to give me the money I want.
That is a beautiful truck man. Hope she treats ya good. Love the whole front and side plow set up and the rear spreader. One thing, I can't believe you get that much blow back with that much of a roll. When I saw how low that roll came down I thought for sure your windshield would keep clear. But it sure is killer though. You run the plow on skids or casters or edge to pavement?
Some of our older Mack's have Allison transmissions but the one I drive has an automated 12 speed manual transmission with an automatic clutch. I think it works pretty good but some of the other drivers like the Allison better for pushing snow. Thanks for watching Timothy!
I tracked a run with Ride Command and it was 145 kms to plow in both directions on all my roads from the time I left the plow shed until I was back in the yard. Other than driving through the town of Stellarton, it is all country roads and I love it! Thanks for asking Jim!
Good question Ace! I usually run anywhere between 50 to 60 kmh (30-40 mph) if the road and visibility are good. Sometime a little faster and sometimes a little slower if the road is rough or the visibility is poor.
@@JimHowDigsDirt I have not been around snow plows very often, but when I have been, there are usually several cars following the plow, since they have been waiting for the road to be cleared.
Hey Jim I'm from Middle Sackville been driving truck up and down Nova Scotia highways for the last 26 yrs.Admire you plow drivers you do a great job! I always wanted to try a highway plow like yours. How do you like the Mack MDrive? Merry Christmas to you and I look forward to your next video.
Right on Jason! I like the M-Drive alright. It beats shifting gears when we have so many other things to tend too. If you'd like to give plowing a try, the DOT puts on two or three snow schools a year. Check out this link for more info www.novascotia.ca/tran/careers/snow_fighter_brochure.pdf
you should try using the little knob that says defroster as it works wonders . Be sure to turn the blower fan on. They should tell you about that stuff when their showing you how too work the blow. I came across a dummy who didn't keep his windshield and hit someone.
Who told you the defroster and fan wasn't on? I think I know what I'm doing Dougie. Unless you have driven a plow truck then you don't know what it's really like in these conditions.
@@JimHowDigsDirt I am sure you know what your doing Jimbo as far as running the plow goes, but not so sure about the defroster and fan control. Your windshield has a lot of condensation on the inside and you have ice and snow accumulated on the outside like along the edges and corners. I did drive a snow plow and never had my windshield looking like yours and I sure under the same conditions Jimbo. You say your name isn’t Jimbo? I know and mine isn’t Dougie. If you have crap hanging from your rear view mirror a cop can pull you over if he wants too for obstructing your vision. Foggy windows is no different, weather driving a street plow or a pickup you need too be able too have clear vision because your dealing with stupid that as big as your truck might be, you have stupid people don’t see it or will dare you too hit them. Look at your video and you will see what I mean. Before you get your panties in a bunch, try looking at what you put up. Happy New Year and safe travels durn the winter months.
It's good! Sometimes it would be nice to have it come out in front of my drives. Overall it spreads much better and keeps the truck from getting covered in salt in around the frame rails and rear ends.
I know what you mean! A lot of times it's unavoidable and is left until after the snow has stopped as it take more time and our main objective is to keep all roads passable. I like to clean up intersections when there is less traffic and the visibility is better because I may have to back up a few times to push it out of the way. Thanks for the comment!
I agree Romes! My Mack has a heated windshield but it shuts off after a bit so you have to keep turning it back on. With all the snow blowing up on the windshield it still doesn't work as good as I had hoped for.

Same to you! Thank you for your kind words. Best wishes in the New Year!
Great video! Nice wide open runs without cross streets or loads of traffic. I'm also a fan of black hoods. 🙂
I love the run I'm on Jeff. Just a nice drive in the country!
Nice truck! We could have used you in the Blizzard of 77 in buffalo,NY.
Maybe one day! lol
Nice rig
Thanks Gib!
Very nice rid 👍🏼
Thanks you!
wish we would get some snow down in MA but just ice and dustings so far. might have to move a little farther north. haha
That's mostly all we are getting here too other than that one decent snowfall. But that can change in a hurry fingers crossed!

It's been an awesome truck so far. I really enjoy driving it.We run a set of shoes behind the blade that are about one inch off the ground.
Use to snow here in mo. But pass 5 years put my plow on 3 times lol

Now, that's what I call plowing snow. Being out in the country, I'd like to know how many one way miles does your route cover?

Newton's 4th law of physics, snow plows have the right of way. Thanks guys, we appreciate it.
Thanks Dan! We appreciate all the help we can get from considerate drivers. Stay safe out there!
Mesmerizing. I’ve never seen a side blade on the rigs we have in Ohio.
Thanks mybrother! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome! Can you come down our road next time?
Sure thing! If I can find it, lol.
How fast are these plows running? Please and thank you

You need a rubber mat on the upper part of your plow so the snow dont bluw up in the windshield
There is one on the plow now but it should be wider and hang down more. Thanks for watching Alexandre!
