I certainly understand how you feel Lyle. There is something about Davids voice that adds just that special touch in literally every song he sings. Not taking anything from the rest of the group but when David sings, the words of the songs come alive.
I was at that concert and it still lives in my heart as the greatest concert of Gaithers and David ever! Just note after note of God's love pouring after every note sung. Thank you Lyle for playing David and the Gaithers.
When David reaches that line “No tears will fill our eyes again”.., it pretty much destroys me. lol. So much feeling and the Holy Spirit playing out in just those few words. Thanks for this one, dear one. I had forgotten about that old song. Thanks, sweetheart.❤

One of my favorite songs they do. I heard Bill say he would put the other guys on base and then put David in to bring them home. He was using the baseball analogy, in this song by Michael and Mark singing the first and second verse, then David singing the last verse and bringing them home, which he did beautifully. Loved his ending.
My favorite grouping was Bill Gaither, Guy Penrod, David Phelps and either Mark Lowry or Russ Taff. Not taking away from this group but that was my favorite Gaither group.
I love how we got to enjoy all of their great solos, each voice so unique. Any time you can hear Mark Lowry's rich baritone full voice, it's a real treat! (but I admit, I am a sucker for baritone anyway.)

Having said that… you haven’t even scratched the surface of that GVB ensemble. You need to react to some of the songs off “ I Do Believe” - Sinner Saved By Grace, The Love Of God, More Than Ever, Hide Thou Me, Where No One Stands Alone… so many good ones to choose from. :)
The name of the Gather Vocal Band song that they sing a Capella is Low Down the Chariot! David's voice just gets smoother, like satin! I love all of these guys!
This group is my favorite but a very close second is Guy, Mark and David. The whole "I Do Believe" album/video with G, M and D is well worth delving into.

Beautiful song about The Lord Jesus Christ’s blood bought born again children’s eternal homecoming. Would you fellow believers please pray for my husband who this past Thursday June 16,2022, at 6:30AM was a victim of a hit and run driver who sent my husband down a long embankment. My husband’s car rolled at least 4 times and landed upside down, which the rescue team had to use the jaws of life to cut him out of his car. I pray that The Lord blesses the only person who had the human decency to pullover and climb down the embankment and stay with my husband until the rescue crew showed up. wado for any of your prayers.
