Brilliant relaxed attitude. Very soothing. Can't help but relax with this gentleman's explanation, especially telling us pitfalls. Will definitely try this.
William Alexander was before Bob Ross. I remember his shows as a youngster and he also had his own museum in Tustin, California where I was born and raised.
@@jasperwhitlow9043 Funny. I think I painted less during that crap. Never got sick, other than sick of hearing people freak out over nothing. It became depressing after a short time. I'm glad that nonsense is over. Here we are, still getting sick, and still living. If they ever pull that crap again, I may go insane, and you may see me on the news.
That issue is what's known as "crushed blacks". In other words the dark or dim areas of a film or picture lack depth or detail and appear as solid, flat black areas. This was filmed decades ago and they have to make the best of the footage they have. They could brighten it but you risk giving the picture a "washed out" look.
I am not familiar with the "soft white" vs thick white. Many of my colors are coming out overly thick. I know this is often a good thing with wet on wet, but I struggle to make the colors mix in my brush properly. Beautiful job on this!! Glad I found you in the The Home of Bill !!
We suggest you use our Magic Clear to thin your thick paint if you want a softer paint. store.alexanderart.com/collections/mediums/products/medium-alexander-magic-clear™
Thick white has less safflower oil in it than soft white. Soft white is usually referred to as "mixing white" for mixing colors. You can use thick white (Titanium White) for mixing, too, but you may have to thin the paint with a touch of paint thinner or linseed oil.
Lowell's a great landscape painter, along with his magnificent floral work. He also seems like such a nice guy.
Yes he is a Master painter. Could really paint anything. He was coined our Floral Artist early on so that was his focus.
@@AAlexanderArt is lowell still around?

I appreciate how you show us how to mix the colors. It really helps
I love the colors in this painting. I think I will paint it myself!

Very well explained! No fuss yet so clear. Thanks
Estoy aprendiendo mucho con usted Maestro. Lo veo desde España.
Speers work is always A+ 👍
Esti genial, chiar îmi place . Abia asteptam sa vad un peisaj in lucru. Felicitari.
Brilliant explanations. Thanks so much.
He makes mixing look so easy. I’m a 72 yr old beginner. I love this mans demonstration and techniques. Paintings are beautiful. ❤️
29 year old beginner here. Painting has given me so much joy during the pandemic!
I am also 72! I started Bob Ross classes three years ago. Learning to paint was on my “bucket list” ! Good luck to you and have fun!

Love this 🥰🎨
Love the colors. You are the best for me
Dark studio, dark clothing, not conducive to easy viewing for these very maturing eyes...appreciate the verbal explanations as you go. Thank you! 💕🕊️🌏

Te has superado, me encanta!
Wow! ❤❤❤

Very enjoyable thanks.👍
Lindíssimo!!!
Amazing
Good points.
What years this ? and who is this guy is it Bob Ross after a hair cut ?
Lowell Speers
The lighting is terrable
I’m halfway through the video, and I’m like wait a minute, title is wildflowers and not trees and forest. Although very pretty
That's why there's a whole other half of video to watch. 🤷♂️
What's the difference between Lowell's soft white and thick white?
Thick white has less safflower oil in it than soft white. Soft white is usually referred to as "mixing white" for mixing colors. You can use thick white (Titanium White) for mixing, too, but you may have to thin the paint with a touch of paint thinner or linseed oil.
Was this guy prior to Bob Ross. What year?
He was definitely painting before Bob Ross. We started filming him in 1986
Lindo
What magical white is?
Magic White is basically a 50/50 mix of Titanium White and linseed oil, sometimes safflower oil.
Is it acrylic or oil paint.
Oil paint.
Beautiful. What is soft white? I cannot find it on your website, (store.alexanderart.com/collections/paint/products/titanium-white).
Soft white is usually referred to as "mixing white", but it's just a slightly thinner version of Titanium white.
What year was this filmed.
1992
@@danielruggiero5230 Thanks, just curious, how do you know that?
I’m taking a bit of a guess here
@@danielruggiero5230 That's probably a good one to, does look early 90's to me too.
