Bought a Saltist medium 13,6 grinder recently. Brilliant rod in my arsenal and throws plugs and bait n million miles. My choice of a everyday use rod above my Elite medium-heavy. One can cut through tough wind easily.

Because they were developed by South African anglers and built by Daiwa for South African fishing conditions. South African anglers were catching massive sharks with smaller size multiplying reels. Then they started using Saltigas, Penn Torques, Okuma Azores and Shimano Stellas spinning reels for rock and surf angler. This led to the development of the above rods. We are the only country in the world that use a shorter butt when fishing from the shore compared to the rest of the world. Your market in the USA prefers longer butt rods so these wont sell . There is also drone fishing rods but that is another story for another day.

@@alucardhellsing1037 Hi mate in Western Australia many guys prefer short butt's for heavy duty spinning reel surf fishing. I myself prefer them for both multiplier and spinni g,. Alvey reels are popular here and are low mount as well, many great rods are made for them and I find double up well for spinners. I am from South Australia and watch many of your South African channels. The conditions and species in many cases are identical, some of the beaches I have seen look so much like where I fish it looks almost like the exact spot lol. All the best.
