Moriarty basically says "yes" to be honest and there's something to be said that Holmes knows information never mentioned in the books based on him, especifically Moriarty confirms that Holmes deleted most of the information about Moriarty so that no copycats could arise.

I’m very happy that Nash has seemingly stuck to Holmes’ personality from the books, an incredibly intelligent, pretty polite guy, who just happens to occasionally do hard core drugs when he’s trying to solve mysteries, because that is one of the funniest things

Sherlock Holmes is the one fictional character I admire the most. I read all of his stories when I was young and totally enjoyed them. And was very very happy when I got Moriarty (second favourite fictional character) and after him Sherlock himself. I almost cried so happy was I.

Got Sherlock two days ago and, man I came back to My Childhood when i started reading his stories. Then i saw My bookshelf My girlfriend saw My face and Sherlock at My fgo screen and she went to tears knowing exactly what It meant to me.

Sherlock is pretty much my favorite character in all of media, of all time. And Moriarty is one of my top 3 villains. I was real happy when the two got made into servants.
Never thought that Sherlock Holmes himself and his nemesis James Moriarty were actually recorded into the throne of heroes.

I read that Sherlock Holmes was inspired by his teacher Dr.Joseph Bell who had similar features as Holmes, Dr.Joseph Bell also could deduce the deceased COD or any illness by observing, looking at the body.

I honestly fell in love with his character in Shinjuku. Shame on me for not reading Sherlock Holmes novels beforehand so I had no idea that Moriarty was the nemesis of Sherlock until after Shinjuku. But that just made me absolutely love his character that much more.
I hope he and Fran and Babbage win the upcoming races! I am going to be cheering for them! Lol.

FloraViolinist105 listen to what i will say cause it will mind blow you. what i find weird is that sherlock is an arts based servant as well as moriarty, but also notice how mash acts like sherlock's little watson and mash is also... Arts based so a team with Mash, Moriarty and sherlock might be possible. Coincidence i think not.

FloraViolinist105 and notice how each of the of the debuff all synergize in a web as sherlock's np reduces defense as well as moriarty's as well and mash's raises defense and attack for more damage. So it is quite elementary my dear fellow.
Is Sherlock a good ruler servant? I've used a friend's Sherlock but I don't really know what is his role in a team

He is a crit support of sort. He is good for spamming Elementary my dear which offers a sizable crit up to your team. Furthermore, his NP also allows your team to bypass enemy defenses while also lowering their defense as an added middle finger to them. He is a little selfish as none of his skills are made to benefit the team aside from his first skill which seals NP and grants a load of crit stars.
TL;DR: Sherlock is a mix of support and damage who shines when facing enemies who like to stack defensive oriented buffs, or on crit teams. However, he is not the best in either regard. If you want damage, go with Amakusa, if you want a support tank, go with Jeanne
To add on to Karna's reply, to mitigate his selfishness in a team comp, get an aoe support servant (either np aoe or party support skills like charisma). As Sherlock's np screws enemy defense, it's up to your support to take the damage up to eleven from there on.
Helena caster is an example of damage support since she has card performance buff, star guarantee buff+np dmg up, and party np percent gain.
Gilgamesh works as well since he's able to be a crit Servant, provide charisma, and his np overcharge is np damage up.
If you want to double down on support, Hans for heals, atk+def+star gen and crit damage is a good choice with Sherlock to melt hp so long as you have the dedicated crit Servant and the crit stars for it.
For fun, Kiritsugu on team to put taunt on Sherlock to take advantage of ruler class advantage. Both Servants are selfish in skillsets, sure, but it's food for thought that makes use of Sherlock's defenses rather than his support.
Tldr: party buffs will help you further melt hp bars with Sherlock's np.
Sherlock IS A CRACKHEAD, but he only get fucked up when he is bored.

@@otakudaikun alright thanks, I'm not new to gacha games, I come from Dokkan battle where you have to save for a specific banner 6 o 7 months away if you want to do good as f2p, I'm getting the impression that fate go is more of a game to have fun and collecting your fav characters since you can beat all events with almost every servant, is it right?
Junior_ FGO has plenty of harrowing challenges, but it's not like five stars are supreme. It's more about knowing how to arrange your servants to get the most out of them.
