I talked to the captain and first officer afterwards out at the terminal gate, captain was military 100%! They both raved about the B737 Max 8 performance, I told them I fly Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and the PMDG B738, and we just had a Max 8 released (Have not purchased it yet). And yes... I will always call it McCarran; I am not into this cancel culture. I still call KBUR "Bob Hope"... :-)
Yeah, my narration was completely off. Once I uploaded the video, I felt stupid as to my narration errors, I did have a gin and tonic, and I do not drink! I know that the RNAV does not cause turbulence, what I wanted to say was that it was more difficult of an a final to me on my simulator and the aircraft rocked back in forth much more than if we were on final on 26L. The RNAV to me has more of a workload than the 26L approach on my simulator. You have to keep in mind that on the simulator, I have to delegate both positions, no first officer unless I use a mod. The ILS 26L is a straight in from past Sunrise Mountain, and the ILS 26L to me on my simulator is simpler than the RNAV 19 R/L. I am just a simulator pilot, as I do not have a PPL yet, but thank you for your feedback, much appreciated. 👉 th-cam.com/video/Kajf8uxE84w/w-d-xo.html
Some errors in your title and narration. I did not see Lake Las Vegas at all. You may have overflown Lake Las Vegas which is why I couldn't see it out the starboard window. Boulder City wasn't visible at all. You were looking at North Las Vegas in distance, not Boulder City. You passed over Hollywood Blvd and the Hollywood Regional Park when you passed West of Sunrise Mountain with Charleston Blvd clearly in view. In turn you passed over Nellis Blvd, Lamb Blvd, etc as your track continued West. This whole area visible is Las Vegas, not Henderson. If you'd had a view out the port windows, Henderson would have been visible well to the south of the aircraft's track. KLAS airport in Las Vegas is called Harry Reid International Airport. It hasn't been McCarran International Airport since 2021.
We did overfly Lake Las Vegas; I thought I saw Boulder City as I thought we were going the 26L route. What actually happened was as the pilots told me outside the gate, the winds had changed, and they were vectored over to 19L instead of their original approach. All of this really confused me while videotaping this, I had a buzz from a gin and tonic as well, and I don't drink! You can hear me state that we were going down Sunset by my mother's house until I figured out that was not the case. My mother lives off Sunset Rd. and Sandhill Rd. so I assumed that was Henderson. I myself will always call it McCarran Intl Airport; I am not a fan of Harry Reid whatsoever! Thanks for all of the corrections, I noticed myself after uploading this video that I sounded like an idiot! 👉 th-cam.com/video/Kajf8uxE84w/w-d-xo.html
Seems like a relatively soft landing which means that's an Air Force pilot.
Also glad to hear you called it McCarran Airport. :-)

Most RNAV/RNP approaches have very close to the same minimums as the ILS. It doesn't increase pilot workload and doesn't increase the turbulence.
