      Little known fact: The Cretaceous’ mass extinction event was caused by a chuckwalla, who entered the first Ultimate Reptile Rumble held 66 million years ago.
      The chuckwalla puffed up, and an asteroid came down to wipe out all the other rivals. The birds forgot they were also reptiles, so they did not enter the competition and were spared from the chuckwalla’s ultimate attack. A few of the lizards, turtles, crocodilians, etc. were also spared, because they were “too big” to qualify for the tournament in the first place.

      Pity that “garden snakes” don’t exist in real life, as if they did, they could fill that fifth spot.
      They look remarkably like these, though… a little smaller - and have *eyelids and externally visible ears.*
      The chief difference is they simply have a much calmer disposition - and *human-level intelligence.*
      They’re highly venomous - more so than these, very much more - *but they simply will NOT bite you unless you actively try to hurt them.*

      @markcobuzzi826 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Within the comment thread of an earlier CR video, I gave my prediction of how he would rate Smaug and why. I am pasting it again down below...
      *Smaug, The Best Pet Dragon?*
      *Handleability: 0/5 -* Quickly grows to a size big enough to handle owner instead; may fly away; too arrogant and greedy to be reasoned with; can easily kill a person with teeth like swords, claws like spears, tail like a thunderbolt, wings like hurricane, and breath that is death; only perks are reception to flattery, lack of venom, and inability to drop its tail
      *Care: 1/5 -* At early age, meat must be pre-roasted; will eventually need Erebor-sized cave with growing bed of gold; requires multiple cow-sized meals per day at full size; no heat lamps needed
      *Hardiness: 5/5 -* Lifespan lasting hundreds of years and armor like tenfold shields, rendering it impervious to anything other than black arrow to chest
      *Availability: 1/5 -* Only available to communities rich enough to attract one in the first place
      *Upfront Costs: 0/5 -* Once acquired, it robs owners of all monetary possessions and leaves them broke
      *Overall: 1.4/5*

    Also on the subject of finding venomous snakes at a pet store, there was a pet store in Kentucky (where I live) where the store misidentified a banded water snake and a guy bought it. He ended up buying and being bitten by a cottonmouth. Bro just wanted to give his new friend a boop and lost a thumb. How they went as long as they did without realizing it was a cottonmouth I have no idea but this goes to show the importance of knowing your snake identifications.

    9:24 You seem to greatly underestimate how hard it can be to find medical help in Africa. It's easy to be hours from the nearest hospital, which is not what you want if you're bitten by a snake.

    @Clint's Reptiles
    Hi Clint!!! Hope you are having an awesome day!!! I've got a question for you!!! (and a little story to go along with it)
    So, I remember asking a few months back about the possibility of Scoring the Bushmaster, and you ABSOLUTELY delivered, so thank you!!!
    Recently I discovered of a Legal Loophole in Canada that allows purchases of Exotic Animals, including Venomous snakes. On one hand, this is great, on the other it's downright dangerous. No permit required as long as you live outside the major city counties.
    So, here's my question. If this Loophole will be taken of use, some Canadian keepers might be tempted to start off small, with a small Venomous snake, and in Ontario where I live, it's the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake. Could you PLEASE make a Video sometime in the future, Discussing how awful A Massasauga Rattlesnake as a pet is?

    Chandler might feel safe handling all these green mambas and cobras and whatnot, but even Chandler and probably Clint would be terrified of Big Ounce.
    What I'm saying is that Clint should do a "Big Ounce, The Best Pet Prairie Dog?" video

    Please keep doing these videos. I have zero desire to own a venomous snake, much like I have little desire to wake up and play Russian roulette every morning. However, Clint constantly trying to convince me to buy one with his fun loving message of poor decisions and death just might turn me around eventually.

    My not-so-local (40km away) reptile store had Death Adders for sale last time I was in there. But, y'know, Straya.

    Sadly I am seeing this shortly after the death of Dingo Dinkleman from anaphylactic shock after being bit by a green mamba. Rest in peace Dingo. You will be missed by many.

    I should probably put this comment on the gaboon viper video but there is an exotics pet store near me that has gone through a lot of remodel and back over a decade ago used to house venomous snakes such as bush vipers, but most noticeably they often had gaboon vipers in. This store is in southern Hampshire, England, UK though. Haven't been to the store in a few years so I can't remember if they still sell reptiles that require an H.O.T. license anymore. Might have seen a green mamba there at one point though.
